PERBEDAAN BOBOT DAN UKURAN TUBUH KAMBING BOERAWA GRADE 1 UMUR SATU TAHUN DARI BEBERAPA PEJANTAN KAMBING BOER DI KECAMATAN SUMBEREJO
This research was conducted to know yearling weight and yearling body measurements of Boerawa grade 1 (G1) from some bucks, to estimate heritability, and to estimate breeding value (BV) of yearling weight and yearling body measurements of Boer bucks. Fifty tails Boerawa G1 from 5 tails Boer bucks was used as research sample decided by purposive sampling. Survey method was done in this research located at Sumberejo subdistrict began August up to September, 2015. Variables observed were yearling weight and yearling body measurements. The body measurements consist of circumference of chest, body length, and shoulder height. Yearling weight and yearling body measurements were adjusted to yearling weight and yearling body measurements corrected. The data corrected was used to estimate heritability of Boerawa G1 and to estimate Breeding Value of each Boer bucks. Result of this research indicated that the average of yearling weight 33,78 ± 1,19 kg, yearling circumference of chest 68,28 ± 3,20 cm, yearling body length 63,73 ± 2,17cm, and yearling shoulder height 63,72 ± 2,96 cm. Heritability of yearling weight 0,19 ± 0,40, yearling circumference of chest 0; 0,15 ± 0,38, yearling body length 0,20 ± 0,41; yearling shoulder height 0,17 ± 0,39. Breeding value of Bursan buck for yearling weight 34,06 kg, yearling circumference of chest 69,10 cm, yearling body length 64,02 cm, and yearling shoulder height 64,42 cm. The breeding value of Bursan buck was highest. It could be concluded that Bursan buck was the best Boer buck. PENGARUH DOSIS VAKSIN NEWCASTLE DISEASE INAKTIF PADA ITIK BETINA TERHADAP JUMLAH SEL DARAH PUTIH DAN TITER ANTIBODI
This study are determines to: 1) the effect of ND vaccine dose to the number of white blood cells produced in the female ducks; 2) the effect of ND vaccine doses to the amount of antibody titers produced in the female ducks. This research was conducted in December 2015 until January 2016, located in the Sabah Balau, District of Tanjung Bintang, South Lampung regency. Analysis of white blood cells (WBC) conducted in the Central Veterinary of Lampung, while the number of antibody titer was conducted in PT. Vaksindo, Jakarta. The experimental design used in this study is completely randomized design with three replications and 6 treatments (P0: injected 0.5 ml of distilled water, P1: 0.1 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P2: 0.2 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P3: 0.3 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P4: 0.4 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses, P5: 0.5 ml of ND inactivated vaccine doses). The treatment given to 5 days old female ducks with inactivated ND vaccine. White blood cells are tested by using the WBC test while antibody titers were tested by using the HI test. The data result were analyzed by ANOVA at 5% significance level and will be continued by Least Significant Difference (LSD) in white blood cells because the value of analysis of variance showed tangible results. The results of this study showed that giving of inactivated ND vaccine doses significantly (P <0.05) to the number of white blood cells, but did not significantly affect (P> 0.05) titer of antibodies. EFEKTIVITAS TEPUNG BUNGA KECOMBRANG (Nicolaia speciosa Horan) SEBAGAI PRESERVATIF TERHADAP ASPEK MIKROBIOLOGIS DAGING BROILER
This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of kecombrang (Nicolaia speciosa Horan) flower powder on the microbiological aspects of broiler meat; 2) determine the optimum dose of kecombrang (Nicolaia speciosa Horan) flower powder as a preservative broiler meat. The method used completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatments are: P0: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder dose 0%; P1: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder doses 2%; P2: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder dose 4%; P3: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder dose 6%. Data were analyzed variance at 1%. If the results of the analysis show real results, then the test continued with Least Significant Difference (LSD) at 5%.The results showed that administration kecombrang flower powder was highly significant (P <0.01) to total plate count (TPC) and not significant (P> 0.01) on pH, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella. Dose 6% kecombrang flower powder could be used as broiler meat preservative. (Keywords: kecombrang (Nicolaia speciosa Horan) flower, broiler meat, microbiology, preservative
PENGARUH LARUTAN JERUK NIPIS DAN GULA PADA DOSIS BERBEDA SEBAGAI BAHAN PENYEMPROT TERHADAP DAYA TETAS TELUR ITIK TEGAL
The aim of this research was to: (1) investigate the effect of lime and sugar solution at 5% and 10% dosage as sprayer substance of tegal duck eggs on pipping time and hatchability, (2) find out the best effect of kind and dosage solution sprayer to tegal duck eggs pipping time and hatchability. The research was conducted from 11th December 2015--9th January 2016 at Beruang St, 12 Kedaton, Bandar Lampung. Research using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2x2 of nested model. The main block is the kind solution (Lime and Sugar) and the partial block is dosage solution (5% and 10%) with 5 replications. Every unit experimental consist of 3 eggs with average weight at 72±1,8 g/egg with coefficient variation ± 2,45%. The parameter measured were pipping time and hatchability. Research data were analyzed by using Anova assumption at level 5%. The result shows that: (1) lime and sugar solution at 5% and 10% dosage give no significant effect (P>0,05) on tegal duck eggs pipping time and hatchability, (2) the treatment kind solution (lime and sugar) with dosage solution 5% and 10% not to give contribution yet on the tegal duck eggs pipping time and hatchability. Key words: Dosage, Hatchability of Tegal Duck Eggs,Llime, Pipping Time, Suga
PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN MULTI NUTRIENT SAUCE PADA RANSUM TERHADAP PERTAMBAHAN BOBOT BADAN HARIAN SAPI POTONG
Effect of Multi Nutrients Sauce (MNS) in ration of beef cattle on average daily gain (ADG) was studied on November 10th, 2015 up to December 09th, 2015 at Pulung Kencana village, Tulang Bawang Tengah, Subdistrict, Provinsi Tulang Bawang Barat. The experimental design used was complete randomized block design with three treatments P0 (basal diet), P1 (basal diet + 10% MNS), and P2 (Unila diet + 10% MNS). Result of this research indicated that ADG of beef cattle for P0, P1, P2 was 1,28 kg/head/day; 1,56 kg/head/day; 1,26 kg/head/day, respectively. Average of ration consumption based on dry matter were 9,08 kg/head/day; 9,24 kg/head/day; 9,11 kg/head/day, respectively. Efficiency of ration were 0,1403±0,0180 kg weight/kg ration; 0,1687±0,0234 kg weight/kg ration; 0,1385±0,0271 kg weight/kg ration, respectively. Income over feed cost (IOFC) were 2,76 ; 3,24 ; 3,18, respectively. It could be concluded that addition of 10% MNS in ration of beef cattle didn’t affect (P>0,05) on ADG, ration consumption, efficiency of ration, and IOFC.
