KARAKTERISTIK DAN PERILAKU LOVEBIRD JANTAN SERTA BETINA SPESIES Agapornis fischeri VARIAN HIJAU STANDAR
The purpose of this research was identify the characteristics and behaviour of males and females lovebird species Agapornis fischeri of standard green variant. The research has been conducted in February till April 2015 in the lovebird breeding room’s on the Senopati street of Jatimulyo village, Jati Agung, South Lampung. The object being observed are five pairs of lovebird who have reached sexual maturity (≥9 months). The males and females of body weight obtained through scale digital after behaviour observation and fasted it first. The result were analyzed using chi-square method with level of 5% on the characteristics and focal animal sampling method to behaviour observated via video camera for six days in each cage object. Assessment of characteristics lovebird observed are body shape, head shape, and tail feather shape while the observation of behaviours were ingestive (eating, drinking, and cleaning beak), idle behaviour (perching and resting), and sexual behaviour (approaching females, delouse, flirting, and mating). The result of this research showed difference nonsignificant (P>0.05) between of males and females lovebird on the characteristics. The average percentage of lovebird behaviours were drinking, cleaning up of beak, perching, approached females, and delouse behaviour in males larger than females. Otherwise, the average percentage of lovebird behaviours were eating, resting, and flirting behaviour in females larger than males. PENGARUH DOSIS LARUTAN VITAMIN B KOMPLEKS SEBAGAI BAHAN PENYEMPROTAN TELUR ITIK TEGAL TERHADAP FERTILITAS, SUSUT TETAS, DAYA TETAS, DAN KEMATIAN EMBRIO
This research aims to 1) the effect of spraying a solution of B complex on fertility, weight loss, hatchability, and embryo mortality on eggs of tegal duck; 2) the optimal dose of solution B complex as an ingredient sprayers on fertility, weight loss, hatchability, and embryo mortality on eggs of tegal duck. This research was conducted at duck farms in the village Bumirestu, District Palas, South Lampung regency in April--May 2015. Completely rndomized design (CRD) with 4 treatment dose of vitamin B complex (0, 4, 6, and 8 g/l of water) used as spraying and 5 replications. Each experimental unit using 6 eggs of tegal duck. The data were analyzed using ANOVA with the assumptions of variance at 5% significance level. Significantly different result further tested with orthogonal polynomials test. The research showed that 1) spraying a solution of vitamin B complex 0--8 g/l of water provide no real effect (P> 0.05) on fertility, hatchability, and embryo mortality. However, significant (P <0.05) on weight loss; 2) the optimal dose of vitamin B complex use solution 0--8 g/l of water as spraying material tegal duck hatching eggs is 3,9 g/l of water on weight loss. PENGARUH LAMA PENYIMPANAN DAN WARNA KERABANG TERHADAP KUALITAS INTERNAL TELUR ITIK TEGAL
The purpose of this study were to (1) investigate the effects of storage time and eggshell colour of tegal duck eggs on the internal egg quality, (2) determine eggshell colour with the different storage time on score of haugh unit, pH of albumen, pH of yolk, and yolk colour. A total 72 duck egg with Completely Randomized Nest Design was used in this study. The treatments consist of 3 storage time (0, 7, and 14 days) as the main plot factor, 2 treatments eggshell colour (bright and dark) as the nest plot factor and 4 replications. Orthogonal contrast test done if there is a real variable. Based on the result showed that duck eggshell colour (bright and dark) treatments on storage time 0, 7, and 14 days did not provide significant effect on score haugh unit, pH of albumen, pH of yolk, and yolk colour of tegal duck eggs. The treatment eggshell colour (bright and dark) with a shell thickness of 0.01 mm difference with storage time 0, 7, and 14 days give the same contribution on the internal duck egg quality
PENGARUH LAMA FERMENTASI DENGAN MEDIA TRAMETES SP. TERHADAP ORGANOLEPTIK, KADAR AIR DAN LEMAK PADA LIMBAH DAUN NENAS DI LAMPUNG TENGAH
The main problem in the development of ruminant production in Indonesia was difficult to meet both continuous a vailability of feed quality and quantity. The abundance of pineapple leaves in Central Lampung province causing potentially a pineapple leaf feed stuffs. But the pineapple leaves have a high crude fiber content. Therefore, it will be fermented with pineapple leaves the treatment to reduce the high crude fiber content. This study aims to determine the effect of fermentation time best and know the effect of Trametes sp. The moisture content, fat content, and protein content of pineapple leaves.This study was done in the Laboratory of Animal Feed, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The treatments were arranged by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatment consisted of storage during 0 day, 2 days, 4 days, 6 days. The dates of observation was analyzed by using variance analysis with significant level of 5% and or 1%. The polynomial orthogonal was used after the variance analysis showed the significant result.The results showed that treatment with fermentation time 0 days, 2 days, 4 days, and 6 days was highly significant (P <1%) of the moisture content, protein content, organoleptic and a significant (P <5%) of the fat content. Long fermentation close relationship with water, protein and fat. According to the regresion equality of water content Y=87,89-0,61x (R2=0,84, r=0,91), fat contentY=3,22+0,80x (R2=0,37, r=0,7), and protein contentY=14,51-1,52x (R2=0,82, r=0,91)
PERBANDINGAN NILAI MPPA PRODUKSI SUSU ANTARA SAPI PERAH FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN DAN PERANAKAN FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN DI BALAI BESAR PEMBIBITAN TERNAK UNGGUL DAN HIJAUAN PAKAN TERNAK BATURRADEN PURWOKERTO
Value Most Probable Producing Ability (MPPA) is a maximum estimate of the ability an animal to produce females that counts or is suspected on the basis of the performance records exist. The purpose of this research is determine the comparative value of milk production MPPA and find the best MPPA value of milk production between Friesian Holstein and Friesian Holstein Crossbreed dairy cows at Balai Besar Pembibitan Ternak Unggul dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak (BBPTU-HPT) Baturraden, Purwokerto. This research used secondary data obtained from the records of two lactation each 39 Friesian Holstein and 39 Friesian Holstein Crossbreed dairy cows. The method used is a case study conducted in BBPTU-HPT Baturraden, Purwokerto was conducted April 2014. The parameters observed in this research is the age of the production, the production of the first and second lactation milk, long lactation, and maintenance management. The results showed the average milk production of dairy cows declined Friesian Holstein and Friesian Holstein Crossbreed were 5.346,50 ± 476,11 : 4.403,26 ± 539,70 litres; repeatability value were 0,29: 0,13; the average value of milk production MPPA were 5.346,50 ± 214,06 : 4.403,26 ± 124,18 litres, and the student-t test based on the average value of Friesian Holstein MPPA higher (P<0,05) than the Friesian Holstein Crossbreed dairy cows
PENGARUH JENIS BAHAN LITTER TERHADAP GAMBARAN DARAH BROILER YANG DIPELIHARA DI CLOSED HOUSE
The aim of the research was to : (1) knowing blood descriptions (red blood cell, white blood cell, andhaemoglobin) of broiler at closed house with kind of litter material, and (2) finding the best litter for broilerblood descriptions at closed house. The research was conducted during 26 days since April 16, 2014 to May10, 2014 at the PT Ramajaya farm’s on Krawangsari village, sub District Natar, South Lampung District.The chicken used was broiler strain cobb with trademark CP 707 product by PT. Charoen pokphandIndonesia tbk for 270 chicken. Broiler start to get handling between age of 14 and 26 days. The researchmethod was experimentally with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) were divided into 3 treatments andrepeated for 6 times, that is p1: rice hull; p2 : wood shavings; p3 : straw. The data were analysis withAnalysis of Variance and if it shows 5%. The result indicated that the treatmentis : (1) litter from rice hull,wood shavings, straw did not have significant effect (P>0,05) on red blood cell, white blood cell andhaemoglobin of broiler. Litter rice hull, wood shavings and straw are good for broiler maintained at closedhouse
EFEK SUPLEMENTASI BERBAGAI AKSELERATOR TERHADAP KUALITAS NUTRISI SILASE LIMBAH TANAMAN SINGKONG
The purpose of this observation was to know the effect of suplementation lactic acid bacteria inoculum, flour cassava, and the combination between lactic acid bacteria inoculum and flour cassava to pH value, NH3, and silage nutritional quality of waste cassava plant. This observation used Complately Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatment consists of P0: silage of waste cassava plant without suplementation, P1: silage of waste cassava plant with 30 ml lactic acid bacteria inoculum suplementation, P2: silage of waste cassava plant with 5% flour cassava suplementation, dan P3: silage of waste cassava plant with combination between lactic acid bacteria inoculum and flour cassava suplementation. The result of this observation showed that significant effect (P<0,01) to pH value, NH3, the levels of dry matter, and crude fiber silage of waste cassava plant, besides the treatment gave significant effect (P<0,05) to the ash content. The levels of ether extract, crude protein content, and Nitrogen Free Extract (NFE) had not significant affected (P>0,05)
PENGARUH MASA SIMPAN TERHADAP KUALITAS FISIK DAN KADAR AIR PADA WAFER LIMBAH PERTANIAN BERBASIS WORTEL
The aim of this research is to find 1) the changes of physicalquality andwater content on wafer of agricultural waste were kept in a range of different times; 2)the most effective time for savingsan wafer of agricultural waste. The research was conducted in September-November 2014 in Banjar Baru Villages, Sukau Subdistrict, West Lampung and in the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Livestock, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments by saving the wafer for 0 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks with fourrepetition. Data were analyzed with Analysis of Varians and continued with Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) 0,01 or 0,05.The result of this research showed that wafer with differential storage time had a signifficantly effect (P<0,01) on the water level, texture, and scent on wafer of agricultural waste. The average of water content on wafer of agricultural waste based on carrot after saved by six weeks in the amount of 42,23 %, so there was no best saving time of wafer agricultural waste based on carrot because the water content of the wafer exceeds the standard of water content of the feed material to be saved that is 14%. PENGARUH KEPADATAN KANDANG TERHADAP PERFORMA PRODUKSI AYAM PETELUR FASE AWAL GROWER
The objective of this paper was to define the laying chicken production performance in the different stocking densities by evaluation of the feed intake, daily gain, feed convertion, uniformity and income over feed cost (IOFC).The completely randomised design was used in the research , A total 210 of 7 weeks old Isa Brown laying chicken were housed in the boxes in slatt rearing system at density of 6, 9, 12 and 15 birds/ m2 with 5 repition of each treatment. Result of trial indicate that stocking density had no significane effect on their feed intake, daily gain, feed convertion, uniformity and income over feed cost (IOFC). Consequently, the same production could be achieved by laying chicken with different stocking density (6,9 ,12 and 15 birds/m2 ) in the early grower phase
RESPON FISIOLOGIS AYAM JANTAN TIPE MEDIUM YANG DIBERI RANSUM DENGAN KADAR SERAT KASAR BERBEDA
The objective of this experiment was to find out the physiological responses of roosters medium type which were given rations in different levels of crude fiber (4, 6, 8, or 10% of dietary dry matter). This research was conducted for 60 days at cage trial installations in PT. Rama Jaya, Fajar Baru Village, Jati Agung Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency. There are fourty eight of roosters medium type that have been used and divided into 12 cages, so that each cage consisted of four roosters. The roosters were divided into four treatments. The treatment were levels of crude fiber 4, 6, 8, and 10% of dietary dry matter. Each treatment was repeated three times. The design used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with Nested Data. Result of the experiment should that different levels of crude fiber 4, 6, 8, or 10% had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the physiological response of rooster medium type and there was no physiological responses of the best rooster medium type in the giving of rations in levels of crude fiber 4, 6, 8, or 10%
