    Pengaruh pH dan Waktu Kontak pada Adsorpsi Zn(II) Menggunakan Kitin Terikat Silang Glutaraldehid

    ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh pH dan waktu kontak pada adsorpsi Zn(II) menggunakan kitin terikat silang glutaraldehid. Penelitian diawali dengan pembuatan kitin terikat silang glutaraldehid. Kitin yang dihasilkan kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan FT-IR dan SEM-EDX untuk mengetahui gugus-gugus fungsional dan bentuk morfologi pada kitin yang terikat silang glutaraldehid. Penentuan pH optimum dilakukan  pada variasi pH 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, dan 7. Penentuan lama kontak optimum dilakukan dengan variasi lama waktu kontak 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, dan 120 menit. Hasil karakterisasi kitin terikat silang glutaraldehid menunjukkan bentuk morfologi permukaan yang lebih rapat, meningkatnya persentase unsur karbon, munculnya serapan gugus C=N pada bilangan gelombang 1627,81 cm-1 dan menurunnya nilai derajat deasetilasi dari 35,34% menjadi 24,05%. Kondisi optimum adsorpsi Zn(II) terjadi pada pH 6 dengan persen Zn(II) teradsorpsi sebesar 86,61% dan waktu kontak 100 menit dengan persen Zn(II) teradsorpsi sebesar 86,22%.   Kata kunci : kitin terikat silang glutaraldehid, adsorpsi, ion logam Zn(II) ABSTRACT Research about the effect of pH and contact time on the adsorption of Zn(II) using chitin cross-linked glutaraldehyde has done. This research was started by making chitin cross-linked glutaraldehyde. Chitin was characterized using FT-IR and SEM-EDX to determine functional group and morphology of chitin cross-linked glutaraldehyde. Determining pH has done in variation pH 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Determining optimum time has done in variation contact time 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 minute. The results of characterization chitin cross-linked glutaraldehyde showed that the surface morphology more dense, the increased percentage of carbon, appeared absorption of C=N at waves number 1627.81 cm-1 and decreased the value of deacetylation degree from 35.34% to 24.05%. The optimum condition of adsorption Zn(II) happened at pH 6 with percent adsorption 86.61 % and contact time optimum at 100 minute with percent adsorption 86.22 %.   Keywords : chitin cross-linked glutaraldehyde, adsorption, ion Zn(II

    ISOLASI DAN KARAKTERISASI SENYAWA TURUNAN ACETOGENIN DARI DAUN SIRSAK (Annona muricata) SERTA UJI TOKSISITAS

    The research is aims to determine acetogenin derivative isolated from graviola leaf (Annona muricata) and study their toxicity activity. Graviola leaf powder was macerated using ethanol and its isolate were fractionated using methanol. Characterization acetogenin compound in methanol fraction using kedde test, UV-Vis and FTIR spectrophotometer. Kedde test result showed the presence of colour changing of dot to pink. UV-Vis data shows that absorption at 222 nm. FTIR spectra data showed the presence of cluster of C=O, C-C(=O)-O and O-C-C with the peak of the wave number at 1741 cm-1 , 1164 cm-1 and 1076 cm-1. The identification result showed that methanol fraction is acetogenin. The results of toxicity tests methanol fraction from the leaves of the soursop has LC50 value of 35.51 ppm

    SINTESIS SALISILANILIDA DARI KOMPONEN UTAMA MINYAK GANDAPURA

    The synthesis of salicylanilide from the main components of gandapura oil was conducted in this research through substitution reaction. This research was carried out by reacting methyl salicylate in gandapura oil with aniline by refluxing for 8 hour. The products were identified using IR spectrophotometer and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Result of identification with IR spectrophotometer showed peaks at 3380.98 cm-1 which is a secondary amide N-H group and peak at 1677.95 cm-1 which is the absorption of amide carbonyl C=O group. The results of the GC-MS identification obtained 4 peaks. Peak with a retention time of 11.505 minutes is showed the presence of methylsalicylate compounds, whereas the peak with aretention time of 22.890 minutes and with 0.26% area has a value for m/z 213 is suspected to be the synthesized compounds (salicylanilide)

    ADSORPSI SENG(II) OLEH BIOMASSA Azolla microphylla-SITRAT: KAJIAN DESORPSI MENGGUNAKAN LARUTAN ASAM NITRAT

    Penelitian tentang desorpsi seng(II) dari biomassa Azolla microphylla diesterifikasi asam sitrat telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan kondisi optimum desorpsi seng(II) oleh biomassa Azolla microphylla diesterifikasi asam sitrat. Biomassa diesterifikasi dengan cara mencampurkan 5 g biomassa ke dalam 50 mL larutan asam sitrat 0,8 M dengan pemanasan 120°C selama 3,5 jam. Percobaan adsorpsi - desorpsi dilakukan menggunakan metode batch. Adsorpsi seng(II) 100 mg/L dilakukan pada pH 6 dengan waktu kontak 45 menit. Percobaan desorpsi dilakukan dengan cara mensuspensikan adsorben yang mengikat seng(II) ke dalam 25 mL larutan HNO3 dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,1; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5 dan 2,0 M dan variasi waktu kontak 30; 45; 60; 75 dan 90 menit. Konsentrasi seng(II) yang terdesorpsi ke dalam larutan pendesorpsi ditentukan menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimum desorpsi seng(II) terjadi pada penggunaan larutan HNO3 1,0 M dan waktu kontak 60 menit memberikan persen desorpsi sebesar 93,62 %

    A simple model of simulation cell of self-assembled monolayer (SAM) with atomistic description was constructed for molecular simulation method. The SAM consists of protonated amine-alkanethiol immobiled on copper (Cu) as supporting surface. A molecular dynamics simulation was perfoemed using the constructed cell. The results showed that the simulation was stable and can be used to decribe the reversibility of SAM conformation

    PEMANFAATAN NATA DE COCO TERMODIFIKASI ASAM SITRAT SEBAGAI BAHAN BKU MEMBRAN

    In order to discover the alternatif of membrane raw material, modification of nata de coco by esterification has been conducted. In this research, it has been done using citric acid and dibutyltin oxide catalyst. This research aims was to determine the effect of esterification on the chemical structure, thermal properties and hydrophilicity of modified cellulose. Reaction of solid state system using closed reactor supporting by mechanical strirer has been done for 3 hours at 155oC. It was used for reacting 5 g of cellulose and 0.3 g of dibutyltin oxide with adding of citric acid were 5, 15, 25, 35 and 45 g. Product characterization were investigated by FTIR spectrophotometry for predicting the chemical structure and thermal properties using DTA. Where as, hydrophilicity was determined by its swelling index of aquades and ethanol up to 6 hours. The result of FTIR spectrum showed that ester cellulose has been produced, indicating by specific peak of carbonyl group at wave number 1733.89 cm-1. DTA thermogram of ester cellulose showed a glass transition at 7.6oC and endothermic peak at 27.6 and 70.5°C, respectively.   In addition, swelling equilibrium of 3 hours has been obtained with swelling index for aquadest and ethanol were 0.209 and 0.361 time, respectively.     FRAKSI SEMI POLAR DARI DAUN MANGGA KASTURI (Mangifera casturi Kosterm)

    ABSTRAK Senyawa metabolit sekunder dari kelompok fenolik dan flavonoid merupakan senyawa yang berkontribusi pada aktivitas biologis dari suatu tanaman. Kelompok senyawa flavonoid dan fenolik telah diketahui dapat diperoleh dari fraksi etil asetat buah mangga kasturi. Pelarut etil asetat merupakan pelarut semi polar yang dapat melarutkan senyawa flavonoid dalam bentuk O-glikosida dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh fraksi etil asetat dari daun M. casturi dan untuk mengetahui jenis kelompok senyawa metabolit sekunder dari fraksi etil asetat daun M. casturi. Ekstraksi daun M. casturi dilakukan dengan maserasi menggunakan pelarut metanol dan fraksi etil asetat dapat diperoleh dari fraksinasi ekstrak metanol daun M. casturi dengan pelarut n-heksana dan etil asetat. Fraksi etil asetat yang diperoleh dilakukan uji fitokimia untuk mengetahui jenis kelompok senyawa metabolit sekunder yang meliputi uji flavonoid, tanin, saponin, triterpenoid dan steroid. Hasil fraksinasi diperoleh fraksi etil asetat dengan rendemen sebesar 24,90 %, sedangkan hasil uji fitokimia terhadap fraksi tersebut menunjukkan adanya senyawa golongan flavonoid, tanin dan triterpenoid. Kata kunci: etil asetat , fraksinasi, fitokimia, Mangifera casturi ABSTRACT Phenolic and flavonoid groups are the secondary metabolites that contribute to the biological activity of the plant. Phenolic and flavonoid groups has been reported can be obtained from ethyl acetate fraction of M. casturi fruits. Ethyl acetate is a semi-polar solvent which can extract flavonoid O-glycoside and tannin compounds. This research was aimed to obtain ethyl acetate fraction of M. casturi leaves and to identify the secondary groups of metabolite compounds of its fraction. Extraction of M. casturi leaves was done by maceration using methanol as a solvent, while ethyl acetate fractions was obtained by fractination of methanol extract using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Ethyl acetate fraction was performed by phytochemical test to identify the secondary group of metabolite compounds include flavonoids, tannins, saponins, triterpenoids and steroids test. The result of fractionation showed that the ethyl acetate fraction have yield of 24.90 %, while the phytochemical test of its fraction showed the existence of flavonoids, tannins and triterpenoids.     PENGARUH WAKTU PENGOCOKAN DAN KONSENTRASI XILANASE DARI Trichoderma viride TERHADAP XILANASE TERADSORPSI DAN AKTIVITAS XILANASE

    Xylanase was immobilized with physical adsorption method by using kaolin. Immobilization is conducted in order to increase efficiency of enzyme utilization so that it can be used repeatedly. The objective of this research is to determine agitation time and optimum xilanase concentration. This research consisted two treatments which agitation time of (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) hours and enzyme concentrations of (0.157 0.209, 0.261, 0.314, 0.366) mg/mL. Free xylanase was 0.366 mg/mL with activity 8.449 unit. The result showed that the optimum condition of immobilized xylanase on kaolin was obtained at 3 hours agitation with total adsorbed xylanase 4,74 mg/g resalting in xylanase actitity of 10.074 unit. Whereas the optimum xylanase concentration was 0.261 ppm yielding in xylanase activity of  14.336 unit.Keyword : Activity, Kaolin, Trichderma viride, Xylanas

    STUDI PENGARUH JENIS PELARUT TERHADAP HASIL ISOLASI DAN KADAR SENYAWA FENOLIK DALAM BIJI KACANG TUNGGAK (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) SEBAGAI ANTIOKSIDAN

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis pelarut terhadap kadar fenolik total dari ekstrakbiji kacang tunggak beserta pengujian aktivitasnya sebagai bahan antioksidan. Uji yang digunakan meliputikadar fenolik total termasuk didalamnya kadar flavonoid total. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan denganmetode 2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil (DPPH). Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi dengan pelarutetanol, metanol, 70% etanol, 70% metanol, 80% aseton, 50% aseton, dan 0,5% asam asetat dalam 70% aseton(v/v). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 80% aseton merupakan pelarut yang dapat mengekstrak senyawafenolik paling besar dan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan terbesar juga. Kadar fenolik total dan flavonoid totalyang dihasilkan mencapai 8.081,4 EAG/g sampel dan 33.308,3 EK/g sampel, sedangkan aktivitas antioksidanyang terukur mencapai 620,9%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kepolaran pelarut mempengaruhikadar senyawa fenolik yang terekstrak dan aktivitas antioksidan.Kata kunci: antioksidan, kacang tunggak, variasi pelarut, fenolik total
