Reflectarray Antennas for 5-G Indoor Coverage

    Get PDF
A reflectarray antenna at 28 GHz is proposed to be used as a base station in 5-G indoor communications. The reflectarray is integrated in an office and the near-field radiated over a desktop surface is simulated. Since the near-field is not properly focused on the area defined for 5-G coverage, an optimization of the reflectarray is required. The generalized Intersection Approach algorithm is employed to optimize the radiated field at the plane of the desktop surface in order to improve the coverage area. Then, a comparison between the near-field before and after the optimization is carried out, showing a significant improvement of the coverage area. In addition, other planes are analyzed, allowing to extend the results from the optimized plane to others. This work has been supported in part by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades under project TEC2017-86619-R (ARTEINE); by the Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad under project TEC2016-75103-C2-1-R (MYRADA); and by the Gobierno del Principado de Asturias through Programa "Clarín" de Ayudas Postdoctorales / Marie Curie-Cofund under project ACA17-09.13th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP

Objectives To evaluate the care process provided to the main caregiver of the dependent patients from the C.S.Rafalafena (Castellón) Methodology A retrospective longitudinal descriptive study of the clinical records of family caregivers has been carried out. Family caregivers included in this study meet the following inclusion criteria: diagnosis NANDA-I D00061 Fatigue of caregiver role and D00062 Risk of fatigue of caregiver role, treating in the 2014-2016 period, belonging to the CS Rafalafena and registered in the computerized clinical history (HCI). An exhaustive sampling of the population under study has been carried out, since there is an infra diagnosis of the caregivers, obtaining a total of 32 subjects. Results: Among selectec caregivers, 37.5% were diagnosed as fatigue of the caregiver role and 62.5% as risk of fatigue of caregiver role. Among the variables proposed by the assessment guide, the most frequent(in decreasing order) were: affective bond (50%), Zarit Test (37.5%), Barthel index (15.6%), Pfeiffer questionnaire (12.5%), Lawton Brody scale (6.3%) and Goldberg's anxiety scale(6.3%). Conclusion: From the care process evaluation provided to the main caregiver, strengths and weaknesses were observed: Among the strengths, we can highlight that the process fits the recommendations proposed in the guide. Main weaknesses are related with the use of different language among nurses, primary care physicians and social workers to label the caregiver population making difficult to design the monitoring of the recruitment phase.

Primary Health Care Nurses’ Self-Perception of Theoretical Knowledges and Practical Skills in Life- Threatening Emergencies: A Cross-Sectional Study

    Get PDF
Background: Within out-of-hospital emergencies, primary health care (PHC) nurses must face life-threatening emergencies (LTEs), which are defined as “a situation associated with an imminent life risk that entails the start-up of resources and special means to resolve the situation.” Objectives: The objectives of this study were to know the training received for out-ofhospital LTEs by PHC nurses of Asturias, Spain and the perception they have about their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a series of emergency procedures or techniques used in LTE emergencies; as well as to analyze the differences according to the geographical area of their work. Design: Cross-sectional, descriptive, and observational study was conducted in 2018 of a sample of PHC service nurses of Asturias, Spain. Methods: A total of 236 nurses from PHC service centers of Asturias, Spain, from among the total of 730 nurses who make up the staff of nurses of the PHC service of Asturias, between April and May 2018, were surveyed. The survey was designed ad hoc using the Doctrinal Body of Emergency Nursing (DBEN) proposed by the Spanish Society of Emergency Medicine (SEMES; Madrid, Spain), which indicates the theoretical and practical procedures that must be acquired by the PHC nurses. It is composed of 37 procedures or techniques employed in LTEs using an 11-point Likert scale rating to detect their selfperception about theoretical knowledge and practical skills from zero (“Minimum”) to ten (“Maximum”). Results: There were significant differences in the mean of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in many procedures or techniques studied, depending on the different areas of work. Conclusions: All PHC nurses must be perfectly trained to provide initial quality assistance to the LTE, with both theoretical and practical knowledge of the different techniques, so that it can continue to be attended by the corresponding Emergency Service.Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria del Principado de Asturias (ISPA

Póster presentado al congreso anual de la IAML, celebrado en Cracovia, del 14 al 19 de julio de 2019Although it may seem that information literacy is a thing of the past for libraries, it is increasingly necessary. In spite of the undeniable technological advances -or rather because of them- the users of the library of the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Eduardo Martínez Torner”, continue not to be self-sufficient to satisfy their informative needs. They are people who are supposed to have sufficient knowledge and skills in the search and retrieval of information, because most of them belong to the so-called "digital natives", but their technological skills are limited to social networks. Many of the students are unaware of the existence of specialized search engines (such as Google Academic, Scirus...), or resources focused on their discipline (IMSLP, All Music Guide, American Music Center, etc.), nor databases with academic and institutional information (TESEO, PARES, IBERLEX, TDX...). After several years of developing individualized tutoring for students who required it, now the library plans to elaborate and disseminate a survey to new students to know the sources of information they use, to measure the use and real knowledge of them. Students need to evaluate the digital material that appears on the net in order to prove their credibility. To do so, they must understand what evidence qualifies a website as reliable. By the time they begin higher education, students should already possess all these skills. Previously, school libraries should have been the fundamental instrument for students to acquire these skills. However, these institutions are in a very precarious situation in Spain. This means that students who begin higher education are unaware of the basic issues involved in the search for and retrieval of scientific information on the Internet. For all these reasons, we believe that informational literacy should occupy a prominent place in conservatory libraries and be in line with the mission, goals and objectives of the school itself.International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres2019 annual IAML Congres
