    El proyecto se ha denominado CREANDO SINERGIA 2019 porque refleja de forma precisa los resultados educativos que genera. Sintetiza su naturaleza y objetivos, y recoge la filosofía y la misión que se pretende abordar “tod@s enseñan, tod@s aprenden”. Surge tras las experiencias de los encuentros de clarinete llevados a cabo durante los últimos años por los conservatorios Superior y Profesional de Oviedo. Los resultados formativos obtenidos en ellos han superado con creces las expectativas preliminares. Con la convivencia entre alumnado de los diferentes niveles educativos se consigue fomentar la ilusión, creatividad, capacidad interpretativa y flexibilidad de adaptación a situaciones de concierto habituales en el campo profesional. A través de un nutrido Ensemble de clarinetes –más de 90 miembros-, se recrea una situación similar a las que se afrontan en agrupaciones sinfónicas en el ámbito laboral y se fomenta la motivación, convivencia e interacción entre profesorado y alumnado de diferentes conservatorios. El proyecto Creando Sinergia aprovecha la convivencia e interacción entre instituciones para beneficio de las comunidades educativas que participan. La madurez alcanzada por la iniciativa ha hecho que el equipo técnico y artístico ampliara su ámbito y sumar más sinergia implicando en esta edición a centros educativos de otras comunidades autónomas -Conservatorio de Música “Jesús de Monasterio” de Santander-, y con fines formativos diversos -Centro de Apoyo a la Integración Monte Naranco de Oviedo-

    The CCN2 Polymorphism rs12526196 Is a Risk Factor for Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm

    Cellular communication network factor 2 (CCN2/CTGF) has been traditionally described as a downstream mediator of other profibrotic factors including transforming growth factor (TGF)-β and angiotensin II. However, recent evidence from our group demonstrated the direct role of CCN2 in maintaining aortic wall homeostasis and acute and lethal aortic aneurysm development induced by angiotensin II in the absence of CCN2 in mice. In order to translate these findings to humans, we evaluated the potential association between three polymorphisms in the CCN2 gene and the presence of a thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA). Patients with and without TAA retrospectively selected were genotyped for rs6918698, rs9402373 and rs12526196 polymorphisms related to the CCN2 gene. Multivariable logistic regression models were performed. In our population of 366 patients (69 with TAA), no associations were found between rs6918698 and rs9402373 and TAA. However, the presence of one C allele from rs12526196 was associated with TAA comparing with the TT genotype, independently of risk factors such as sex, age, hypertension, type of valvulopathy and the presence of a bicuspid aortic valve (OR = 3.17; 95% CI = 1.30–7.88; p = 0.011). In conclusion, we demonstrated an association between the C allele of rs12526196 in the CCN2 gene and the presence of TAA. This study extrapolates to humans the relevance of CCN2 in aortic aneurysm observed in mice and postulates, for the first time, a potential protective role to CCN2 in aortic aneurysm pathology. Our results encourage future research to explore new variants in the CCN2 gene that could be predisposed to TAA development

Also, a method for measuring and characterizing radiating systems or antennas (5).     Alumina/molybdenum nanocomposites obtained by colloidal synthesis and spark plasma sintering

    Alumina/molybdenum nanocomposites were prepared by colloidal synthesis from alumina powder and molybdenum (V) chloride using ethanol as dispersion medium. Modified alumina was calcined at 450 ◦C in air atmosphere to remove chlorides, and then treated in a tubular furnace at 850 ◦C under Ar/H2 to reduce the MoO3 formed in the previous stage and obtain Al2O3 with molybdenum nanoparticles on the surface. Three different molybdenum contents were proposed (1, 5 and 10 wt % Mo), and pure alumina was used as reference, that were sintered by spark plasma sintering (SPS) under vacuum atmosphere at 1400 ◦C for 3 min with an applied pressure of 80 MPa. Composites were characterized by microstructure, hardness, toughness, and three-point bending test. The presence of molybdenum nanoparticles resulted in a fine-grained structure promoted by the presence of molybdenum at grain boundaries and triple points, as well as by the utilization of the SPS equipment.     Photochemical halogen-bonding assisted generation of vinyl and sulfur-centered radicals: stereoselective catalyst-free C(sp2)–S bond forming reactions

    The combination of photochemistry and halogen bonding interactions has risen in the last few years as a powerful synthetic tool for the creation of radical intermediates under mild conditions. In the formation of carbon-centered radicals, this reactivity has been to date restricted to the employment of aryl and alkyl halides as precursors. We now envisioned that the halogen-bonding initiated formation of highly reactive vinyl radicals would be a feasible process for the photochemical cross-coupling between thiols and alkenyl halides under basic conditions. The reaction shows indeed a very broad functional group tolerance, is stereoselective, simple and scalable. In-depth mechanistic studies point at the formation of vinyl and sulfur-centered radicals as the intermediates of the reaction and DFT calculations support the pre-formation of a halogen-bonding complex as the initiator of the photochemical transformation.     Combinatorial biosynthesis yields novel hybrid argimycin P alkaloids with diverse scaffolds in Streptomyces argillaceus

    Coelimycin P1 and argimycins P are two types of polyketide alkaloids produced by Streptomyces coelicolor and Streptomyces argillaceus, respectively. Their biosynthesis pathways share some early steps that render very similar aminated polyketide chains, diverging the pathways afterwards. By expressing the putative isomerase cpkE and/or the putative epoxidase/dehydrogenase cpkD from the coelimycin P1 gene cluster into S. argillaceus wild type and in argimycin mutant strains, five novel hybrid argimycins were generated. Chemical characterization of those compounds revealed that four of them show unprecedented scaffolds (quinolizidine and pyranopyridine) never found before in the argimycin family of compounds. One of these compounds (argimycin DM104) shows improved antibiotic activity. Noticeable, biosynthesis of these quinolizidine argimycins results from a hybrid pathway created by combining enzymes from two different pathways, which utilizes an aminated polyketide chain as precursor instead of lysine as it occurs for other quinolizidines

One of the artistic aspects for which the Alhambra stands out is undoubtedly the decoration of its walls. It has long been noted that from a structural point of view the palaces were built with simple materials and techniques. It is common for their walls to be built of stone (masonry), brick or earth mixed with lime (tapial). However, the covering of these walls did give the builders of the Alhambra creative freedom. The internal walls of the various rooms of the Alhambra are profusely decorated with glazed ceramic pieces in plinths or plasterwork of different types on them. There is also no shortage of ceramic flooring or the application of decorated ceramic pieces on steps or, less frequently, on ceilings and roofs. The aim of this work is to carry out a preliminary study of the techniques and decorative motifs of the materials in the Museum's collection, distinguishing the different groups of ceramic pieces used as wall and floor coverings from the Nasrid period, when the first ceramic tile collections are documented, to the modern period. This chapter, therefore, should be understood as an initial, concise analysis, as the volume of material housed in the Museum is extraordinarily large, and the institution and researchers are strongly encouraged to promote and undertake detailed analyses of these materials, as they are of great interest.Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife.
