    This study aims to determine the effect of the quality of school-based management and the revitalization of the principal's function on teacher competence in five private elementary schools throughout the city of Samarinda. This study uses a survey method with a causal quantitative approach (cause and effect). The population in this study amounted to 149 teachers with a sample of 109 teachers who were determined through a random probability sampling technique in five private primary schools accredited A, namely; SD Islam Aljawahir, SD Islam Fastabiqul Khairat, SD Kristen Sunodia, SD Katholik 3 W.R Soepratman, dan SD Budi Bakti. The data collection technique used a closed questionnaire which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used descriptive inferential statistics, with simple and multiple linear regression which included partial test (T test), simultaneous test (F test) and calculation of the coefficient of determination (R2). The results showed that; (1) there is a significant influence on the quality of school-based management (X1) of 50.10% on teacher competence (Y), (2) there is a significant effect of revitalizing the function of principals (X2) of 62.00% on teacher competence (Y), and (3) there is a jointly significant effect between the quality of school-based management (X1) and the revitalization of the principal's function (X2) of 64.20% on teacher competence (Y)

    SCHOOL LEADERSHIP IN TEACHER RESOURCE QUALITY DEVELOPMENT PLANNING

    This study aims to describe the role of principal leadership in planning the development of the quality of teacher resources at SMP Negeri 2 Sebulu Kutai Kartanegara. Related to the role of principal leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating planned programs in developing the quality of teacher resources. This research uses a qualitative approach with this type of research, namely a case study. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed: (1) planning for the development of the quality of teacher resources was carried out by deliberation in internal meetings; (2) the form of developing the quality of teacher resources, namely the implementation of workshops, training, seminars and advanced education levels; (3) evaluating by conducting academic supervision; (4) the role of the principal as: (a) educator; (b) managers; (c) administrator; (d) supervisors; (e) leader (f) innovator; and (g) motivators. Based on the results of interviews with three informants about the principal's leadership in planning the development of the quality of teacher resources, the principal as a leader has tried to carry out according to procedures in determining planning, namely by involving stakeholders in internal school meetings. In the implementation process, it is carried out in accordance with the procedure, all the steps taken by the principal and the teacher are to begin with the formation of a school development team, each school development team is given a mandate according to its capacity

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berfikir kritis dan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas III SDN 003 Sungai Kunjang melalui penerapan model problem based learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes tulis, dan dokumentasi. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu rencana tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Jenis tindakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penerapan model problem based learning pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus, setiap siklus dilakukan 2 kali pertemuan.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Data yang diperoleh disajikan dalam paparan naratif, rata-rata, dan persentase. Dari hasil  analisis didapatkan bahwa keterampilan berfikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I sampai II yaitu, siklus I (16,67%), siklus II (79,16%). Ketuntasan belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari prasikllus, siklus I sampai siklus II yaitu, prasiklus  (41,66%), siklus I (70.83%) dan siklus II (87,50%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui model Problem based learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berfikir kritis dan hasil belajar IPA kelas III SDN 003 sungai kunjang

    The many problems of education in Indonesia, need fast and right efforts from the government, especially policyholders in the education sector. The dynamic world of education requires the presence of effective and efficient education policies. One of the problems of education in Indonesia is the implementation of education in “ 3 T “ Areas (Frontier, Remote, And Underdeveloped ), where there is a shortage of teachers. To solve that problem, the ministry of education and culture create “ Maju Bersama Mencerdaskan Indonesia Program “ (MBMI) where one of the program contents is empowerment the bachelor’s degree to teach in 3 T areas. Certainly, this is a short-term solution, because they become teachers only one year in that area.  Not only that, but the government also empowers the army as the teacher in 3 T areas. Empowerment of the army as the teacher leaves a problem about the function of the army in army and police laws. Furthermore, the professionalism of the army as the teacher is doubtful. How much effectiveness and efficiency this policy will try to analyze with SWOT analysis

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatan hasil belajar matematika tema merawat hewan dan tumbuhan materi operasi hitung perkalian dan pembagian dengan menggunakan teori bruner pada siswa kelas II. Penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa II A SDN 001 Samarinda Ilir yang berjumlah sebanyak 26 siswa. Prosedur penelitian ini yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini yaitu rubrik observasi dan soal tes. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yang dilakukan dengan beberapa cara, yaitu observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Untuk menganalisis tingkat keberhasilan siswa setelah proses belajar mengajar setiap siklus dilakukan dengan cara memberikan evaluasi berupa soal tes tertulis setiap akhir siklus. Analisis hasil evaluasi dapat dilihat dari data nilai rata-rata dan presentase. Pelaksanaan penelitian dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif model teori bruner dikatakan berhasil jika mayoritas siswa memperoleh nilai lebih dari atau sama dengan 70. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa terjadi peningkatan, hal tersebut dapat dilihat pada persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa pada nilai awal 50,00% dengan nilai rata-rata siswa 68,46 kemudian meningkat di siklus 1 menjadi 69,21% dengan nilai rata rata71,69 dan mengalami peningkatan kembali pada siklus 2 mencapai 96,15% dengan rata-rata nilai mencapai 87,98

    THE MODELLING PROCESS AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGY IN LANGUAGE TEACHING PROCESS: Strategies in Language Teaching Process

            Modelling has to be considered as a new form of learning or as a facilitation of learning units from the students' side, but also for teachers too in the form of teaching units. From modelling, teachers demonstrate units or different teaching tasks to their students so they can understand them more easily. Modelling it is become like a bridge between students and teachers too, because from it all the lessons become more clear. Through modelling, students are actively involved in the learning process and interactive methods enable students to take initiatives. They combine initiatives, talk on behalf of the group in which they carry out their work, create new communication relationships with each other. And through modelling, the quality of classroom learning increases. Modelling  can be useful to provide pupils with a couple of ‘pointer’ questions in order to focus the discussion and to link the discussion to pupils’ prior knowledge. Writing down the main points to emerge from the discussion on the board or a flipchart help to focus pupils and also emphasize the fact that the discussion is a learning activity and not a just a way of filling time. Learning is always an active process. The learner actively constructs her/his learning from the various inputs s/he receives. This implies that the learner needs to be active to learn effectively. Learning is about helping pupils construct their own meaning, not about ‘getting the right answer’, as pupils can be trained to get the right answer without actually understanding the concept.        Therefore part of this Seminar’s paper are types of language’s teaching modelling, advantages and disadvantages of this strategy then some of examples described in the classroom education process. Towards that in this paper we tried to give some definitions given from foreign and native authors, who have talked about the modelling process into language teaching.   Key words; Challenge, Creativity, Modelling, Method, Strategy.       &nbsp

    THE EFFECT OF SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SUPERVISION, SCHOOL ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND TEACHER'S SELF-EFFICIENCY ON TEACHER PERFORMANCE AT SMK NEGERI TENGGARONG KOTA

    This study aims to determine the effect of Principal Supervision, School Organizational Culture and Teacher Self-Efficacy on Teacher Performance at SMK Negeri Tenggarong Kota. The population of this study was all teachers consisting of three different schools, namely SMKN 1, SMKN 2 and SMKN 3 Tenggarong with a total sample of 110 teachers who were taken using stratified proportional random sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire to obtain data on the supervision of the principal, school organizational culture, teacher self-efficacy and teacher performance. Data analysis with instrument validation of the four variables, namely using Pearson correlation and reliability using Cronbach alpha, while for the research approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that (1) the principal's supervision had a significant effect on teacher performance, which means that the higher the principal's supervision would lead to an increase in teacher performance (2) the school's organizational culture had a significant effect on teacher performance, which means that the better the school's organizational culture, the higher teacher performance (3) teacher self-efficacy has a significant effect on teacher performance, which means the better teacher self-efficacy will result in increased teacher performance (4) principal supervision, school organizational culture and teacher self-efficacy together have a significant effect on teacher performance. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the performance of State Vocational School teachers in Tenggarong City can be improved by the supervision of the principal, school organizational culture and teacher self-efficacy

    IMPLEMENTATION OF FLIPPED CLASSROOM TO INCREASE STUDENT ACTIVITY, MOTIVATION, AND LEARNING OUTCOMES IN THE INTEGRATED GOVERNMENT GRADUATE PROGRAM (S1 PIN) MULAWARMAN UNIVERSITY

    Lectures become the center of learning who dominate the activities in traditional classrooms. Most of the learning time in the classroom is spent on lecturing than students' activities which causes a lack of motivation in learning. The study aims to: 1) increase activities of both the lecture and students by implementing Flipped Classroom; 2) to increase students' motivation by implementing Flipped Classroom; 3) to increase students' learning achievement by implementing Flipped Classroom. The study used a classroom action research methodology which consisted of 3 cycles. There were four stages in the research: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data of the study consisted of 1) activities data of both lecture and students through observation and documentation; 2) students' motivation data through online questionnaires on Google Form and observation; 3) learning achievement through an online quiz on Edmodo. At the end of Cycle III, it was found out that there was an increase in activities of both lecture and students, student motivation, and learning achievement by implementing Flipped Classroom

    PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MEMBACA AWAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN KARTU SUKU KATA KELAS I SEKOLAH DASAR

       Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan berupa media pembelajaran membaca awal untuk siswa Kelas 1 SD dengan fokus pada model media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Pengembangan produk media pembelajaran berupa kartu suku kata.Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran membaca awal dengan menggunakan kartu suku kata di Kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar, (2) untuk mengetahui kelayakan pengembangan media pembelajaran membaca awal dengan menggunakan kartu suku kata di Kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar, dan (3) untuk mengetahui efektifitas pengembangan media pembelajaran membaca awal dengan menggunakan kartu suku kata di Kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar.  Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, angket validasi, tes kelas dan dokumentasi. Teknik Analisa data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Analisa data kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan pendapat, saran, dan tanggapan validator, sedangkan data kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengolah data hasil observasi penilaian produk dan tes kelas. Hasil pengembangan produk menunjukkan (1) pengembangan media pembelajaran kartu suku kata dilakukan melalui 3 tahap, sehingga hasil pengembangannya terlihat pada penggabungan  huruf menjadi suku kata,  mengeja suku kata menjadi kata, menggabungkan kata menjadi kalimat, membaca suku kata pada kartu suku kata, memasang kata dengan gambar, da melengkapi kata dalam kalimat; (2) hasil pengembangan media pembelajaran kartu suku kata dikategorikan sangat layak dengan skor rata rata yang diberikan oleh ahli materi  yaitu 91% kategori sangat layak, ahli media & desain yaitu 76,11 kategori layak; dan (3) efektivitas pengembangan media pembelajaran ditandai oleh hasil belajar ketika belajar uji coba media terhadap siswa dan keberhasilan pelaksanaan pembelajaran berdasarkan perencanaan pembelajaran yang telah dilakukan berdasarkan data yg diperoleh dari uji coba awal kelompok kecil dengan nilai rata rata 73,37% dan nilai akhir uji kelompok kecil meningkat menjadi 87,14%, sedangkan hasil yg dicapai pada uji awal kelompok besar atau uji  lapangan nilai rata rata 88,54% sedangkan uji akhir kelompok besar atau uji lapangan terdapat peningkatan dengan nilai rata rata 89,69 %. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran kartu suku kata dapat meningkatkan siswa dalam membaca awal

    PENGEMBANGAN PERANGKAT BAHAN AJAR TEMATIK TEMA 8 SUBTEMA 1 MANUSIA DAN LINGKUNGAN BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL SISWA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR

    Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat bahan ajar tematik tema 8 subtema 1 manusia dan lingkungan berbasis kearifan lokal siswa kelas V sekolah dasar, melalui pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini merupakan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model teori Dick & Carey. Teknik analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini merupakan analisis deskriptif. Subyek penelitian pada siswa kelas V SDN 002 Karangan, analisis data dengan mengkonversi skor skala rating. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat bahan ajar tematik berbasis kearifan lokal yang layak.  Melalui penilaian aspek isi, aspek bahasa, aspek penyajian, strategi pembelajaran, dan aspek tampilan. Persentase penilaian oleh ke tiga ahli yaitu ahli pembelajaran 89%, ahli media 81,07%, dan ahli materi 84,78%, dengan rerata perolehan 84,59%. Produk memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan berdasarkan keterlaksanaan perangkat bahan ajar dengan perolehan nilai 85,4% serta responden guru dan siswa yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Produk memenuhi kriteria keefektifan berdasarkan hasil belajar siswa pada uji kelas riil dengan nilai ketuntasan 88%. Pengembangan perangkat bahan ajar tematik berbasis kearifan lokal ini mengacu pada silabus dan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang dikembangkan disesuaikan dengan kegiatan pembelajaran
