Teaching and Learning Support for Computer Architecture and Organization Courses Design on Computer Engineering and Computer Science For Undergraduate: A Review
Understanding computer system hardware is basic for the undergraduate student which study in the computer area. System user always needs a faster, cheap and reliable process which is conducted by it computer system self. To fulfill that process is required how a computer works from their design and how they operate. That course is conducted by Computer Architecture and Organization (CAO) course. Two computer undergraduate area which studies CAO is Computer Engineering (CE) and Computer Science (CS). To support great learning at CAO both CE and CS needs to not just study which has a material course but they had to practically study computer architecture and design by the simulator. Why simulator is chosen, because to create computer such as CPU, RAM etc. needs big systems that can manufacture them. Nowadays too much freely available simulator that can be downloaded and used anytime, but not all simulators meet study requirements and didn’t meet the CAO Learning Outcome. CS and CE have an international curriculum that given by ACM Computing Curricula. So this paper is discussed what kind of simulator that meets Computing Curricula requirement to implement at learning process which helps the instructor to choose simulato
A Generic Framework for Information Security Policy Development
Information security policies are not easy to create unless organizations explicitly recognize the various steps required in the development process of an information security policy, especially in institutions of higher education that use enormous amounts of IT. An improper development process or a copied security policy content from another organization might also fail to execute an effective job. The execution could be aimed at addressing an issue such as the non-compliance to applicable rules and regulations even if the replicated policy is properly developed, referenced, cited in laws or regulations and interpreted correctly. A generic framework was proposed to improve and establish the development process of security policies in institutions of higher education. The content analysis and cross-case analysis methods were used in this study in order to gain a thorough understanding of the information security policy development process in institutions of higher educatio
Modeling IT Value based on Meta-Analysis
Over the last two decades, research about IT value has been done. The main purpose of IT values research is to determine how IT investment gives impact and value to organization performance. Because of vital role and function of IT, the organization required to understand how IT could create business value. Therefore, an understanding of IT value is needed. Systematic literature review in meta-analysis is required to determine the relationship between IT resources, organization capabilities, organization core competencies, and organization performances. The research was conducted on 53 publications which generate the classification matrix components that have an impact on organization performance. Hypothesis testing results that organization has the best performance on financial, efficiency, and other performance through external capability and core competence. So, indirect effect model is better than direct effect model in explaining IT value
Comparative Study of Web3D Standard Format to Determine the Base Format for A Web3D Framework
With the current Web3D document format, users are forced to choose certain document formats to use, either during development with a particular tool or when it will be displayed in a browser. Only one format that can be processed by any browser at one given time. This raises the main problem of not allowing users to display a variety of objects with different formats in their browser. For this problem, a Web3D framework can be the solution, as it will provide format conversion for the browser. The conversion itself requires an appropriate base format as the conversion goal. Since there are many formats that have been implemented by users, a comparison has to be done for the purpose of choosing the suitable format. In this study, comparisons have been made to obtain some information. The information required is the complexity of each document in describing a 3D object in the browser, as well as the performance of the particular format. Web3D formats compared in this research are the standard ones: VRML and X3D. Various specific description of object formation have also been selected as sample representation for each format. Based on comparisons in the representation information of each standard format, X3D is the more suitable format for this need. As a standard format representation, the results obtained can be used for further comparisons with non-standard or proprietary formats. This information is needed to determine the final base format for the framework to be developed in subsequent research.
Encryption System based on a Structured Matrix: Vandermonde Matrix
The development of communications and digital transmissions have pushed data encryption to grow quicklyto protect the information against any hacking or digital plagiarisms. Also, the matrix computation algorithmsdeveloped since the fifties exploit different types of structures more algebraically. In this work, we willpropose an encryption system based on the Vandermonde matrix, to secure the data in the form of images. Some orders will be advanced MatLab programming
Forecasts Marine Weather on Java Sea Using Hybrid Methods: TS-ANFIS
Indonesia is an archipelago. Consequently, themajorities are working around the sea such as a fisherman. While the number of activities at sea are increasing more accident occurred are rising. This research presents marine weather prediction system using Hybrid Methods TS-ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System – Time Series) in orderto anticipate bad weather and reduce risk. This method use bothocean current and wave height at Java Sea particularly on Gresikin order to forecast ocean current velocity and wave height. Inputvariables used in this paper are data at (t), an hour before (t-1),and two hours before (t-2) and obtained next hour, next 6 hours, next 12 hours, and next day prediction as output. The resultsindicate that ocean current speed attain 16.97327 cm/s; 13.22302cm/s; 10.21107 cm/s; 14.09871 cm/s with mean error is about0.12993; 1.5758; 1.3182; 0.82613 while wave height reach 0.45554m; 0.48286 m; 0.46395 m; 0.54571 m with mean error is about0.0012247; 0.018619; 0.046584; 0.060206. Therefore, it was safe tosailing on 1st January 2016

The solar power plant is one of the renewable energy that already was implemented in around the world. The important component in the renewable power plant is inverter device that convert the direct current to alternating current. The problem in the inverter are power quality, harmonics, and grid system. This paper introduced design inverter single phase with totem pole circuit. The circuit reduces losses in inverter. Besides that, DC link in PCB, component placement configuration, and adding filter in the output of inverter was implemented in the design. The result shown that the inverter have optimum efficiency at 98.67% and have a small total harmonics distortion with LC load
Implementation of Unbiased Stereology Method for Organ Volume Estimation using Image Processing
Stereology had been widely used around the globe for estimating the value of the biological structure. It interlinks the connection between the dimensions using a sample that is 2D for a quantification in 3D structure. Volume estimation using stereology method is the most common and basic quantification that shows an example of how stereology works. Stereology method has a drawback when it comes to a lot of samples, so it is common for a researcher to use the computer to help to quantify and to do repetitive work, which is known as computer-assisted stereology quantification. The purpose of this research is to develop software that can assist researchers using stereology method for estimating the volume of a sample object from its 2D digital images with point counting method. The software was built based on the manual procedure of volume estimation using stereology method performed by experienced researchers. The volume estimation using the software were then compared with the results of the manual procedure by the experts on the same samples, i.e., the kidney and trigeminal ganglion of a rat. The experimental results showed that the relative difference of the volume estimations between manual and computer assisted calculations were 0.93% for rat kidney sample and 10.81%. TA1 trigeminal ganglion sample. Based on the results, the software estimation can be used for further analysis
Mobile Content Based Image Retrieval Architectures
Mobile device features such as camera and other sensors are evolving rapidly nowadays. Supported by a reliable communications network, it raises new methods in information retrieval. Mobile devices can capture an image with its camera and pass it to the retrieval systems to get the information needed. This system, called Mobile Content-Based Image Retrieval (MCBIR), generally consists of two parts: Offline Database Construction, which create image features database and indexing structure, and Online Image Search, that search images in the database that similar to the user inputs. MCBIR system, based on its computational load and resource needs, can be categorized into three architectural models: client-side, client-server and distributed. These three models were analyzed in three aspects: scalability, latency, and resources. The results show that each architecture has its own characteristics in terms of these aspects and should be considered in the architecture selection phase for MCBIR development
