    Perubahan dan Pergeseran Paradigma Perencanaan Pengembangan Perkotaan

    Dalam mengkaji pengembangan perkotaan di Indonesia, maka terdapat dua pandangan dasar yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengupas permasalahan serta mengenali berbagai problematika yang dihadapi. Pertama, dengan menggunakan cara pandang kota sebagai dimensi fisik dari kehidupan dan kegiatan usaha manusia yang memberikan berbagai implikasi pada aspek-aspek pembangunan. Kedua, kota dipandang sebagai bagian dari suatu sistem yang menyeluruh dari kehidupan dan kegiatan usaha manusia dan masyarakat yang saling terkait dengan upaya pada aspek-aspek pembangunan lainnya. Kupasan permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam pengembangan perkotaan ini pada dasarnya ditujukan untuk mengenali visi dan paradigma yang digunakan dalam melandasi upaya-upaya pengembangan perkotaan tersebut. Melalui pengenalan terhadap visi dan paradigma tersebut, maka akan dapat dikenali pula perubahan dan pergeserannya yang sejalan dengan corak dan sifat permasalahan pengembangan perkotaan yang dihadapi dalam kurun waktu yang bersangkutan. Serta diarahkan untuk memperbaiki dan menyempurnakan, dengan didasarkan atas problematika dan tantangan yang dihadapi kini dan masa mendatang dalam konteks pengembangan perkotaan. Kesimpulan dari studi ini adalah bahwasanya visi dan paradigma-paradigma yang berlaku pada pengembangan perkotaan pada dasarnya merupakan cerminan dari harapn dan kebutuhan pada pelaku-pelaku yang terlibat dalam pengembangn perkotaan tersebut dan tingkat perkembangan serta kemajuan yang dicapai oleh masyarakat secara umum pada kurun waktu yang bersangkutan

    Utilization of Aerial Photograph and Geographic Information System for Deposit Measurement of Wuryantoro Watershed, Wonogiri

    This research is carried out in Wuryantoro Watershed, Wonogiri, Central Java. The goal of this study is to examine the remote sensing tehnology capability to obtain the parameters of the physical data of land in the prediction of sediment yield. The approach used in landscape with the land unit as mapping unit by using MUSLE (Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation) model. The data analysis used the infrared aerial photo interpretation, which is combined   by Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Infrared aerial photo on scale 1 : 10.000 in 1991 is used as primary source of data to obtain the parameters of physical data of land. The data analysis uses the Geographical Information Systems. The prediction of the sediment yield is not done directly. First, predicated the runoff characteristi, which contains of runoff coeficient, runoff volume and peak discharge. Then the runoff charateristic with other influential factors (slope, soil, and land cover and conservation practice) are used to predict the sediment yield. The result of the prediction is tested by comparing them with the data of field measurenment result. The accuracy of the result of aerial photo interpretation for prediction sediment yield is 89.45%

    This study is intended to find out the sap products of Pines mercusii Jungh at de Vries per are unit using variableness of the air photograph i.e. tree height, crown diameter and aree number per hectare. Its result analysis used regression analysis with the programe aid of SPSS for windows.     Estimation of Soil Moisture Regime Based on Analysis of Rainfall, Air Temperature, and Landform - Soil (Case Study on River Regional Unit (SWS) Pemali - Comal)

    The objectives of this research were 1) to determine soil moisture regime based on rainfall and temperature data; 2) to make a correction of the first objective based on soil moisture surplus and deficit calulation; 3) to study the pattern of soil moisture regime distribution in the research area. The field sampling tehniques applied in this research was stratified proposed sampling. Landform unit was applied as strata. Soil depth and texture were considered during field soil sampling within the landform unit. Rainfall and air temperature data were analyzed using Newball Simulation Model (NSM) to determine a tentative soil moisture regime. The tentative soil moisture regime was corrected using calculation soil moisture regime of soil moisture surplus and deficit. The soil moisture surplus and deficit was calculated based on soil depth, soil texture, rainfall, and temperature data. The result of this research were 1) soil moisture regime estimated using NSM ranged from ustic to udic; 2) soil moisture regime corrected using surplus and/ or defiit alulation of soil moisture ranged from xeric to udic; 3) the pattern of soil moisture regime distribution in the reaserch area was not only controlled by the pattern of rainfall – air temperature distribution but it was also controlled by the pattern of soil – landform distribution. Under the some amount of annual rainfall, shallow and coarse texture soils have drier soil moisture regime than deep and fine texture soils

    The Utilization of Black – White Panchromatic Aerial Photograph for Mass Movement Study in Karang Kobar Areas, Banjarnegara, Centra Java

    This is the result of applied remote sensing  for geological study the mass wasting in Karangkobar, the district of Banjarnegara, Central Java. The study on the mass wasting use the remote sensing method, by interpreting the blackwhite panhromatic aerial photographs, on the scale 1 : 50,000. The study is aimed at 1) revealing the capacity of the aerial photograph in supporting the study the mass wasting that an be identified by the aerial photographs; 2) to find out the influence of the physical environment and land-use on the mass wasting processes. The study in performed by using the visual interpretation method of the scale 1 : 50,000 black-white panchromati aerial photograph taken in 1994, using mirror stereoscope. The outcome of the aerial photograph interpretation is varis the quality of data and information. The data of interpretation of aerial photograph and the varis outcome in the spot are further tested in terms of its accuracy, particularly in its reltion with the aerial photograph interpretation. The technique of data analysis of the physical environment and the mass wasting is descriptive – comparative. The result of the study shows that the 1 : 50,000 black-white panchromatic aerial photograph can be used to identify and study both the mass wasting and influence of the physical environment on the mass wasting processes. The degree of identifying the mass wasting based on the aerial photograph interpretation is 75%. Compared to the previous studies, the present study hows that the mass wasting can be identified more easily by means of the 1 : 50,000 black – white panchromatic aerial photograph. Identifying the distribution of mass wasting are: a) the geological element (rock, geological structure, and stratigraphy); b) geomorphological elements (landform and the forming processes); the water condition (surface water and groundwater); and landuse (type and distribution). White marl – claystone type is the physical environmentsal element that has the most type is the physical environmentsal element that has the most dominant influence on the occuring of mass wasting in Karangkobar area

    Infrared Aerial Photograph Application for Prediction of Runoff Coefficient at Wuryantoro Catchment, Wonogiri

    This research was carried out in Wuryantoro Watershed, Wonogiri. The goal of this study is to examine the remote sensing technology capability to obtain the physical characteristics data of watershed in the prediction of runoff coefficient using cook method. The physical characteristics is topography (relief), landcover, water storage, and infiltration. The physical characteristis is interpreted on infrared aerial photography on scale 1 : 10.000 based on element of interpretation i.e. tone, texture, size, shape, pattern, site, and association. The result of the prediction is tested by comparing them with the data of field measurement result. The accuraccy of the result of aerial photo interpretation of physical characteristics of watershed can be obtained as follows 1) the accuracy of the interpretation of landuse 88,5%; 2) the accuracy of slope interpretation 87.67%. The accuracy of prediction of the runoff coeficient 86.9%

    A concept of Surveying and Mapping Vulnerability and Flood Hazard (with Hydro-Geomorphological Approach)

    The general event of natural process phenomena on lowland areas is flood as an effect of the overtooping stream water over natural levees and inundate the area of surrounding the river. Most of the lowland surround the rivers is used by man for settlements, agriculture land, high way, and other activities to support their life intensively. Therefore flood is not only the physical phenomena but also a socio – economic phenomena. One of the way to understand the spatial distribution of flood prone areas an be done by means of survey and mapping of the flood susceptibility and hazard using an hydro- geomorphological approach. The fluvial landform units on the lowlands reflect the effet of the geomorphological and hydrological processes in the past. Therefore those phenomena can be applied to explain the recent flood characteristics such as inundation  area, depth and flood duration, as well as flood frequencies and sources of floods. This explanation can be used as the starting point of the existing information which an be used as a basic survey and mapping of the flood suspectibility and hazard. The exiting of the interaction between man and natural event (flood) information, can also be applied as a fundament to define the hazard levels of every landform units own flood susceptibility levels

    Estimation of Solar Radiation using Artificial Neural Network

    The solar radiation is the most important fator affeccting evapotranspiration, the mechanism of transporting the vapor from the water surface has also a great effect. The main objectives of this study were to investigate the potential of using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to predict solar radiation related to temperature. The three-layer backpropagation were developed, trained, and tested to forecast solar radiation for Ciriung sub Cachment. Result revealed that the ANN were able to well learn the events they were trained to recognize. Moreover, they were capable of effecctively generalize their training by predicting solar radiation for sets unseen cases
