KONDISI SOSIAL EKONOMI MASYARAKAT SEKITAR HUTAN DI DESA TANGAI JAYA KECAMATAN MENTEBAH KABUPATEN KAPUAS HULU
The community uses forest products as a source of livelihood to improve socio-economic conditions by participating in the use of local natural resources. The aim of this study is to reveal the income of the people around the forest and uncover the level of welfare of the people in Tangai Jaya Village of Mentebah Subdistric in Kapuas Hulu Regency. This study used surveys through interviews with a questionnaire guide. Samples were taken using simple random sampling with the number of respondents as many as 70 households. The data collected were the descriptive analyzed processed by adding up all income derived from both farming and non farming activities and then measured using the indicators of Regional Minimum Wage of Kapuas Hulu and analyzing the level of social welfare in accordance with BKKBN. The results showed that the total income of the community around the forest in Tangai Jaya village ranged from IDR 100,000/month to IDR 30,500,000/month with an average total income of IDR 2,235,857/month. The level of welfare in Tangai Jaya Village with 98.67% or 69 household is categorized as Family Welfare Phase I and 1.43% or 1 categorized as Family Welfare Phase III. There are 30 households in Padang Jaya hamlet and 39 households in Sungai Tekuyung Hamlet that are categorized as Family Welfare Phase I. Meanwhile, 1 household of Sungai Tekuyung hamlet is categorized as Family Welfare Phase III. Keywords: Socio-economic conditions, income, level of welfare, Tangai Jaya Village
TUMBUHAN OBAT YANG DIMANFAATKAN OLEH BATTRA DI DESA SEJAHTERA KECAMATAN SUKADANA KABUPATEN KAYONG UTARA
This study aimed to knowing the kind and usefulness of traditional medicinal plants that used by battra (traditional healer) at Sejahtera village in treating diseases that exist in the society. This research was conducted by interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that medicinal plants species used by the battra as many as 78 species,generally dominated by family Fabaceae. Part of the plant most widely used are the leaves and roots, while medicinal plants are used mostly to treat diseases beyond that skin diseases and fever, as well as diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, jaundice and coughing up blood. SIKAP MASYARAKAT TERHADAP AKTIFITAS PENAMBANGAN EMAS TANPA IZIN DI SEKITAR KAWASAN HUTAN PEMATANG GADUNG KECAMATAN MATAN HILIR SELATAN KABUPATEN KETAPANG
Illegal gold mining activities in Pematang Gadung Village have affected the environment such as destruction of forests, pollution of watersheds and threatening the existence of animals. This research aims to analyze the attitudes of the community and the relationship between factors that affect the attitude of the community regarding the activities of illegal gold mining in Pematang Gadung Village.The method used in this research was the descriptive method and the sampling technique or interview with respondents was conducted trough purposive sampling. The number of respondents in this research was 87 respondents. The results showed that 46 (52.87%) of the respondents had a neutral attitude, 27 (31.03%) had a negative attitude (rejecting) and 14 (16.09%) had a positive attitude (accepting). The level of perception had an effect on people's attitude, while the levels of knowledge, cosmopolitan and forestry outreach had no relationship with the people’s attitude toward illegal gold mining activities. NORMA SOSIAL MASYARAKAT DESA NUSAPATI DALAM PENGELOLAAN HUTAN RAKYAT
The forest condition progressively reduced so that the desire to maintain a strong forest of the village community Nusapati. Social norms is one of the factors affection the forests, because social norms can prevent people to do the wrong behavior, such as deforestation the forestation. This study aimed to determain characteristics of a society consisting of age, education, ethnicity, land, occupation, gender and religion in community forest management and to determine whether social norms play an importan role in the management of community forests. This research was conducted in September 2015 located Nusapati village. The survey method with interview, sampling studies using total sampling and data collection techniques using primary and secondary data. The collected data are analyzed and presented descriptively. The research showed condocted on sosial norms, the comunity adhere to unwritten rules rather than written rules. Unwritten rules include tolak bala ritual and deliheration to resolvethe problem in the management of public forest (hutan rakyat). Keywords: social norms, community forests, communities
KUALITAS ARANG BRIKET BERDASARKAN PERSENTASE ARANG BATANG KELAPA SAWIT (ELAEIS GUINEENSIS JACQ) DAN ARANG KAYU LABAN (VITEX PUBESCENS VAHL)
Energy is a major component in all human activities. The main source of energy for humans are natural resources derived from fossil carbon, these are petroleum, coal, and gas . The research aimed to determine the quality of charcoal briquettes based on ration percentage of charcoal oil palm trunks and charcoal Laban wood. This study used a completely randomized design. The percentage of oilpalm trunks charcoal (OTC) and Laban wood charcoal (LWC) as follow: 100% OTC; 20% OTC: 80% LWC; 40% OTC : 60%LWC; 60%OTC : 40% LWC ; 80% : 20% LWC; 100% LWC. Particle size of charcoal was 20 mesh adhesive tapioca flour. The charcoal briquettes size was 30-40 mm heigh with diameter 55 mm and made with hydraulic press with pressure 5 tons. Before testing the quality, charcoal briquettes was dried for 48 hours in oven with temperature 80oC. evaluation the quality of charcoal briquettes based on SNI 01-6235-2000. The average value of moisture content ash content, volatile matter content valve and carbon qualified the SNI 01-6235-2000 standard. The best value was achieved on charcoal briquettes with ratio percentage 40% oil palm trunks charcoal and 60% Laban wood charcoal with average calorific value 6377,67 cal/g. the charcoal briquettes produced can be used as an alternative energy for the society. KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS KANTONG SEMAR (NEPENTHES SPP) DALAM KAWASAN HUTAN LINDUNG GUNUNG SEMAHUNG DESA SAHAM KECAMATAN SENGAH TEMILA KABUPATEN LANDAK
The main threat to the existence of pitcher plants (Nepenthes spp) in the protected forest of mount semahung areas caused by human activities such as illegal logging and land clearing. Therefore, conservation efforts should be made in order to remain sustainable existence. The research aimed to know the diversity of pitcher plants (Nepenthes spp) in the protected forest of Mount Semahung. The method of research was observational, sampling used double plots (20 m x 20 m) as much as 20 plots, each plots consisted of 16 small plots with size 5 m x 5 m. The research slowed that in the protected forest of Mount Semahung, there were 268 Nepenthes spp consisted of N. mirabilis, N. ampullaria, N. gracilis, N. hirsuta, and N. reinwardtiana. Based on Importance Value Index (IVI), N. mirabilis (IVI = 33.0495) and N. ampullaria (IVI = 31.5495%), were species that dominant with IVI values were respectively, rather than N. Gracilis (IVI = 9.9222%), N. Hirsuta (IVI = 7.0354%), and N. Reinwardtiana (IVI = 4.7736%). Dominance index value, species diversity index, and abundance index for each type of pitcher plants (Nepenthes spp) categorized as low as it had a value less than one. PERSEPSI DAN UPAYA MASYARAKAT SETEMPAT TERHADAP PERLINDUNGAN ORANGUTAN (PONGO PYGMAEUS) DI SEKITAR TAMAN NASIONAL DANAU SENTARUM (TNDS) DAN TAMAN NASIONAL BETUNG KERIHUN (TNBK) KABUPATEN KAPUAS HULU
West Kalimantan Province is one of area that being habitat of orangutan, therefore it is very important to involve local society around Danau Sentarum National Park and Betung Kerihun National Park in Kapuas Hulu district in order to provide a good comprehension about orangutan. Besides that, it able to be expected to make grow awareness and action conserve orangutan, in around TNDS and TNBK in which the place to breeding orangutan and conservation area.The purposes in this research was to determined: 1). Perception of society local to protect orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) around Danau Sentarum National Park and Betung Kerihun National Park, 2) society effort to protect orangutan and 3) The relations between the level of knowledge, cosmopolitan, counseling and perception to protect orangutan.The result in this research showed that the perception local society local to protect orangutan around Danau Sentarum National Park and Betung Kerihun National Park tend to be different. Most respondents have perception that lower it was about (56%) to protect orangutan. From the result of the research showed most of respondents have perception that upper it was about (65.5%) in protecting orangutan around Danau Sentarum National Park and Betung Kerihun National Park.The relationship between the level perception of knowledge has moderate correlation with the value 56%, the perception level of cosmopolitan has moderate correlation with the value 46%, the counseling has moderate correlation with the value 59% and level of perception to protect orangutan has close links with the value 65,5% (strong). KEBERADAAN FUNGI MIKORIZA ARBUSKULA (FMA) PADA TEGAKAN KEMIRI ALEURITES MOLUCCANA WILLD DI DESA BENTUNAI KABUPATEN SAMBAS
Aleurites molucanna Will is a vegetable oil that has the potential to be used as raw materials for petroleum substitutes. Before the use of A. molucanna Will on a large scale is needed seeds that have good growth potential by using of Arbuscular Mycorriza Fungi (AMF). The study, entitled presence in the stands of A.Molucanna Arbuscular Mycorriza Fungi (AMF) aims to prove a link between the FMA with A.Molucanna and obtain other types of AMF associated with pecans. The research was conducted from March to May 2016 in the silviculture laboratory and field. Soil and root samples were taken in the Bentunai village and the survey method purposively at three levels A.Molucann. The research proves there is association between the Arbuscular Mycorriza Fungi (AMF) with hazelnut attested by their spores in a number of 455 spores / 100 g soil is composed of 8 types of spores belonging to the genus Glomus and the presence of infection at the root of the whole roots of the observed average rate of infection classified as 3 classification class (medium) Keywords: Bentunai, Existence, Kemiri, Mycorrhizae, Sambas
SEBARAN POPULASI DAN KONDISI TEMPAT TUMBUH BUNGA BANGKAI (AMORPHOPHALLUS SP) DI KAWASAN HUTAN KOTA GUNUNG SARI KOTA SINGKAWANG
Urban forest is one component of green open spaces in a city. The existence of anurban forest serves in a hydrological system, creating a micro-climate, maintaining the balance of oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2), reducing pollutants, and noises. Diversity of flora in urbant forest of Gunung Sari is not yet known for their distribution and the number of species. One of the flora that have not yet registered in term of their distribution and diversity isCarrion flower (Amorpophallus sp). The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution and site condition of Amorphophallus, which found in the urban forest of Gunung Sari. The research was done by applying survey methods using transects withdirection perpendicular to contour lines. Data assessment of Carrion flower was surveyed using a 20 x 20 mcontinuous plots(10 m left and right side of transects) and 8 transectschosen were assumed torepresentthe entire urban forest conditions. Each transect length was500- 700 m. Only one species of carrion flower found, Amorphophallus hewittii Aldrew. Morista index analysis show that the pattern of distribusion of A. hewittii were found in a group, with the the index of 1.60. The Carrion seedling density was greater than the rate of adult density.Regression analysis resulted a relationship between the density of A. hewittii andlight intensity where it grown. KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS KELELAWAR (CHIROPTERA) DALAM KAWASAN HUTAN LINDUNG GUNUNG AMBAWANG KECAMATAN KUBU KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA
Bats (Chiroptera) is a taxa that has an important function ecologically, such as helping to pollinate flowers, seed dispersal, insect population control and the regeneration of the forest. The aims of this research is to determine the species diversity of bats in Gunung Ambawang protected forest, Kubu Raya regency, West Kalimantan. The method used is catch and release method using mist nest. The result of research obtained that the bats were caught as many as 65 individuals consist of 6 species (Balionycteris maculata, Chironax melanocephalus, Cynopterus minitus, Penthetor lucasii, Hipposideros larvatus, Emballonuridae monticola) belonging to 3 family (Pteropodidae, Hipposideridae, Emballonuridae). Based on the feed, there are 4 species of Bats as frugivorous or fruits eater (Megachirotera) : Balionycteris maculata as many 7 individuals, Chironax melanocephalus 11 individuals, Cynopterus minutus 14 individuals and Penthetor lucasii 7 individuals. Insectivorous or insect eater found 2 species (Microchiroptera) : Hipposideros larvatus as many 14 individuals and Emballonura monticola 12 individuals.
