The Relationship Between Military Expenditures, Democracy and Economic Development: Military Expenditures, Democracy and Economic Development Relationship
From the 1950s and onwards, the relationship between democracy and economic development remains a matter of curiosity. In this study, the relationship between democracy and economic development as institutional determinants of military expenditures is investigated by Dumitreschu-Hurlin (2012) time-varying panel causality test for 34 OECD countries for the period of 1990-2017. As a result of the analysis, between 1995-2015 period there was a two-waycausal relationship between military expenditures and economic development, military expenditures and democracy, and a one-way causality running from development to democracy. In the period between 2002 and 2016, there was a one-way causal relationship from democracy to military spending and from democracy to development. In the period of 2003-2017, it was revealed that there was a one way causality from democracy to development and the compatibility perspective is valid.

Determinants of Simplicity Behaviors: Effects on Sustainable Consumption and Life Satisfaction
Sustainable consumption gains popularity in recent years that mainly purposes monitoring production activities in terms of environmental and natural resources and prevention or minimizing overconsumption patterns based on materialistic culture. In the study, sustainable consumption and voluntary simplicity behavior of American consumers were analyzed and proposed a structural equation model which describes antecedents of the sustainable behaviors and its effects on life satisfaction. The results of the study fill an important gap in the literature when considering the scope and originality of the proposed model, and elaborate the direct and indirect relationships among the related variables. In the analyzes, voluntary simplicity behaviors were evaluated in three dimensions as common simplicity behavior, conscious buying behavior and conscious product usage, and the effects of these variables on life satisfaction and affecting sustainable consumer behavior were revealed. In addition, negative motivations for earning money, level of materialism, perceived consumer effectiveness and environmentalist behaviors are important determinants of sustainable behavior and life satisfaction
Sourcing Local and Sustainable Tourism: The Case of Yesilyurt
Once tourism establishments in the destination choose to source their food & beverage stocks locally, this will cause remarkable changes for all parties involved. The small-scale producers will benefit increased demand and income and also find opportunities to diversify economic activities. The establishments will increase the quality of their food & beverage offer and lower their costs. The tourists will enjoy a more authentic and memorable experience. The destination will see higher multiplier effect and lower leakage, preservation of nature and culture, and a potential for a marketable brand image and regional identity, as well as product diversification. The decision has the potential to contribute to sustainability of the destination however, only if the local food & beverage and supporting cultural and natural elements are in coherence, to create a sense of place.
CUSTOMER SEGMENTATION BY USING RFM MODEL AND CLUSTERING METHODS: A CASE STUDY IN RETAIL INDUSTRY
In today’s business environment companies should need better understanding on customers’ data. Detecting similarities and differences among customers, predicting their behaviors, proposing better options and opportunities to customers, etc. became very important for customer-company engagement. Segmenting customers according to their data became vital in this context. RFM (recency, frequency and monetary) values have been used for many years to identify which customers valuable for the company, which customers need promotional activities, etc. Data-mining tools and techniques commonly have been used by organizations and individuals to analysis their stored data. Clustering, which one of the tasks of data mining has been used to group people, objects, etc. In this paper we propose two different clustering models to segment 700032 customers by considering their RFM values. We suggest that the current customer segmentation which built by just considering customers’ expense is not sufficient. Hence, one of the models that recommended in this research is expected to provide better customer understanding, well-designed strategies, and more efficient decisions
Examination and Comparison of the Economic Effects of International Risk Spillovers on the Iran’s Money Market by Approach the DCGE Model
Opening doors of the economy and moving toward the globalization process increase business transactions, capital mobility and at the same time economies of scale and technology transfer. Naturally, risk spillovers are occurred along with business transactions and capital mobility. They can be effective on various sectors of economy that the most important sector is the money market. Thus, the main question in this study is that do risk spillovers of the oil market has effect on Iran's money market? Given the structure of Iran's economy, one of the most important channels of transferring international risk to the country's economy is oil price changes. According to the exploration of economic effects of financial crises on oil price as well as the previous process of its changes, the seven percent decrease of oil price has been explored as the major scenario and it is tried to show its effect on macro-economic variables especially the money market. Considering the effect of international risk spillovers on macro-economic variables via structural equations, dynamic computable general equilibrium models (DCGE) are employed. The results revealed that the international risk index influences macro variables that most of them are inflation, investment, welfare and demand for money. Given that the present study was focused on the effect of international risk index on the money market, outputs of model estimation showed that the international risk spillover of oil has had an increasing effect on demand for money at first but it has gradually been led to a totally quiet stability
Touristic Destinations’ Perceived Risk And Perceived Value As Indicators Of E-Wom And Revisit Intentions
In the process of destination selection, it is known that tourists perceive many different risks and use eWOM behavior as a risk reduction tool. Also the risks that consumers perceive are influential on the values they perceive. For this reason, spreading positive eWOM messages and encouraging revisit intentions are seen as significant competitive advantages in terms of destination management. In this context, to measure the effects of tourists’ perceived risk on their perceived value and the effects of their perceived value on their eWOM dissemination and revisit intentions, have been identified as the main objectives of this study. The sample of the study consists 228 tourists who visited the Fethiye (TR) destination in 2017. As a result of analysis of the data with Structural Equation Modeling, it is found that perceived risk variable has an impact on perceived value, perceived value variable has impacts on eWOM dissemination intention and revisit intention and eWOM dissemination intention has an impact on revisit intention
Effect of High Performance Work Practices on Job Embeddedness and Employee Innovative Behavior
Purpose – This study ascertained the high performance work practices effects on employee innovative behavior through key mediating role of the job embeddedness of front line service employees in Pakistan hospitality sector.Method – Data gathered from four and five-star hotel FLSEs in two waves with a time lag of two weeks, the relationships in the conceptual model were gauged through Partial Least Squares (PLS).Findings – The results suggest that job embeddedness mediate the relationship between high performance work practices and employee innovative behavior. In particular, front line service employees in presence of high performance work practices have high job embeddedness, and are more likely to exhibit innovative behaviors at work.Research implications – This study will send a strong message to service firms that provision of performance enhancing human resource practices is of prime importance to enhance.
