The Moderating Role of Existential Authenticity on the Relationship Between Sustainable Services Marketing Practices and Consumer Behavior
“Transformative Consumer Research” (TCR) initiative, has gained big interest among marketing academics and practitioners, since its emergence in 2006. Because 70 per cent of world’s GDP is comprised of services sector activities (Johann, 2015), the TCR initiative has been applied to services marketing and “Transformative Services Research” (TSR) concept has emerged. Studies about sustainable services marketing are handled within the scope of TSR. This study discusses factors affect consumers’ preferences of sustainable services and examines variables that have moderating effects between sustainable services activities and consumers’ behavior, through a literature review. Personal traits like being environmentally sensitive and having high level of existential authenticity and eudaemonic well-being are examined as moderating variables. Increasing usage of sustainable services notably in accommodation and food sector, has important potential for contributing to reach UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, that constitutes one of main purposes of this study
Volatility Impact of Covid–19 on Macro-Economic Indicators in India
Covid-19 (C-19) has resulted in economic and financial meltdowns across the world. The counter measures to tackle the virus created economic loss for people from every stratum. Macro-economic indices like unemployment, inflation, and GDP growth rates were severely hit. This study estimates the C-19’s volatility impact on four macroeconomic variables (gold-prices, interest rate, crude oil prices, and exchange rate in the Indian economy. The paper uses daily timeseries data of the macro-economic variables and cases of C-19 in India for the period from 5th January 2020 to 4th April 2022. The volatility impact of Covid19 is measured using Bi-Variate GARCH models. The GARCH models (BEKK-GARCH [BG] and DCC-GARCH [DG]) provide robust results. The result finds existence of both short and long-term C-19’s volatility impact on all variables, although in different degrees. This paper significantly contributes to existing literature and delivers key implications to policymakers to critically treat C-19 for economic stability while making policies.
Keywords: Covid-19, macro-economic variables, BEKK-GARCH, DCC-GARC
Impact of Corporate Governance on the Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure: Empirical Evidence from Financial and Non-Financial Sectors of Pakistan: Impact of Corporate Governance on the Corporate Social Responsibility Disclosure in Pakistan
This study investigates the impact of corporate governance on corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosure in financial and non-financial sectors of Pakistan from 2010-2016. The content analysis technique is used to report the CSR disclosure of the companies. The Reporting Frequency Comparison and Paired Sample T-Test are conducted to compare the CSR disclosure in both the sectors and determine the potential change in the CSR disclosure before and after introducing the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan CSR voluntary Guidelines 2013. Furthermore, random effect regression highlights that the non-executive directors and foreign ownership significantly impact the CSR disclosure in the financial sector, while in the non-financial sector, only foreign directors are found to influence the CSR disclosure. Among all postulated hypotheses, only H1 & H4 are accepted in financial and non-financial sectors, with H2 only accepted in the financial sector. The Reporting Frequency Comparison and T-test results suggest that CSR disclosure is higher in the financial sector, and the level of CSR disclosure has increased significantly after introducing CSR voluntary Guidelines, 2013. This research study is novel and has set practical implications for the policymakers as it has performed reporting frequency-based comparison between both the sectors and has identified the various CSR sectors in which both financial & non-financial sectors may improve upon their social performance
Comparative Analysis of Fragile Fives with Panel VAR Models
This study aims to show the similarities and differences between the fragile five classifications, which include countries that are quite different from each other, and to show whether there is a need for a different classification of fragile five, econometrically. In this context, the data set consists of old fragile five and new fragile five classifications. Seven independent variables that are thought to affect the gross domestic product of the countries have been determined. The data are annual for the period 2001-2018. Panel data analysis and Panel vector autoregression are used as a methodology in this paper, respectively. As a result of the analysis, the effects of the independent variables used in the analysis on the dependent differ in the countries included in fragile fives. Also, a change in one of the countries included in fragile fives will affect other countries. Therefore, it concluded that the variables in the models of fragile fives generally have different coefficients from each other. Based on this, it is understood that the revision of old fragile five does not conform to new fragile five, econometrically. It can be suggested as a policy implication that a different classification of fragile five is necessary
Package Tour Contracts in Turkish Law
The changing the understanding of vacation has led people to package tours where all the facilities are provided within a single contract all inclusive, instead of classical-style holidays.
Package tours have become preferable because of the opportunities they offer and by saving the consumer from the time and effort spent on planning. However, with the spread of package tours, an increase is observed in legal disputes between the contracting parties. Therefore, examining the legal nature of package tour contracts and determining the rights and obligations of the parties will help in resolving legal disputes that arise in practice.
In our study, package tour contracts are examined in terms of their elements, legal nature, parties, contractual form condition, mandatory content, amendments, and termination. Also, suggestions are made for amendments in terms of some provisions
The Non-Linear Effect of Relative Real Foreign Exchange Rates on International Tourism Demand in Turkey: A Panel Threshold Modeling Approach
This paper aims to investigate (i) whether there is a certain threshold level that changes the effect of the relative real effective exchange rate on demand for tourism and, (ii) whether the volatility of the relative real effective exchange rate has an impact on demand for international tourism considering the non-linear relationship between the ratio of Turkey’s real effective exchange rate to the real effective exchange rates of 29 OECD countries and the demand for international tourism in Turkey. Empirical results suggest that the real effective exchange rate has a threshold on demand for international tourism. Further, the relative real effective exchange rate volatility generating uncertainty has a significant and negative effect on demand for international tourism.

Three main themes emerged as a result of the coding and analysis of the interviews: (I) The effect of the pandemic on perception of work time, (II) Pandemic and changing perception of workplace, (III) Pandemic and work-life balance, (IV) Pandemic and well-being/wellness. The findings of the study will be effective in understanding the hybrid working system, which is expected to continue after Covid-19, and in shaping the human resources policies and practices in the future
A Study on the Moderator Role of Vendor Trustworthiness on the Effect of Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use in Mobile Shopping on Purchasing Intention
This study examines the effects of users' perceived usefulness and ease of use of mobile sites in their mobile purchasing processes on customer satisfaction and purchase intentions, according to users' perceived trustworthiness towards the vendor with the Technology Acceptance Model perspective. As a result of the analysis made with the data obtained through the survey from 460 active mobile shopping participants over 18, it was concluded that the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use affect the participants' satisfaction with the mobile site. This satisfaction has a positive effect on the purchase intentions of the customers. In addition, it was concluded that the perceived trustworthiness of the vendor has a moderating effect on the effect of the satisfaction of the participants from the use of the mobile site on their purchase intention. The positive relationship between participants' satisfaction with mobile site usage and purchase intentions is stronger under conditions of higher perceived trustworthiness towards the vendor
Workplace Bullying and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Symptoms: a Double Mediation Model
The purpose of this study is to explore the interlinkage of emotion-focused coping and perceived stress in the relationship between workplace bullying and post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) symptoms. This study was a cross-sectional, nation-wide survey, with sampling in ten cities across Turkey. The sample (N=257) is composed of employees who reported high exposure to bullying. The scales used are workplace bullying, PTSD symptoms, perceived stress and emotion-focused coping. Through a double mediation model, results demonstrate that the relationship between workplace bullying and PTSD symptoms is affected by the interaction between emotion-focused coping and perceived stress. This study contributes to fill the gap in the workplace bullying literature by focusing on person-related factors. To our knowledge, the mediator role of perceived stress and emotion-focused coping has not been studied together yet in the workplace bullying and PTSD research. Workplace bullying has important organizational and economic consequences as well as individual serious health problems. HRM implications are discussed to prevent victims to get into a vicious cycle
