    Cognitive Biases and Gender Opposition: Analysis from the Perspective of the Individual, Community, Society and Platforms

    Social media makes it possible for the public to communicate and share conceptions. As a hot online topic, gender discourse has received huge attention and discussion from different users. Cognitive biases led to the polarisation of public opinion, and gender opposites seem to become mainstream on social media. Based on social identity theory, framing theory, and cognitive bias theory, this paper explores the role of cognitive bias in social media and explains whether it amplifies gender conflict. This study argues that the dissemination of gender related issues is influenced by preconceived cognitive frameworks, leading to biases in public interpretation. These individual cognitive biases exacerbate the opposite of gender discourse, and are amplified on social media. From an interdisciplinary perspective of psychology and gender studies, cognitive biases influence public conceptions and attitudes towards gender issues. This study not only provides a theoretical explanation for understanding gender opposites on social media but also offers insights for platform governance and public opinion guidance

    Evaluation of physical education learning activities reviewed from the availability of facilities, learning process, and student learning outcomes at junior high school

    This study aims to evaluate Physical Education learning activities at junior high school by examining three main aspects: the availability of facilities and infrastructure, the learning process, and student learning outcomes. This study used a descriptive evaluative approach with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the facilities and infrastructure available at the school are still limited, both in terms of quantity and condition. The learning process has been implemented according to plan, but the lack of variety in methods and limited equipment has resulted in uneven student participation. In terms of learning outcomes, approximately 82% of students have achieved the Minimum Completion Criteria, while the remainder still require additional guidance, particularly in motor skills. Physical Education learning at SMP Negeri 3 Gowa is progressing quite well, but improvements in learning facilities and innovations are needed to optimize student learning outcomes

    The influence of theatre for social change performance on knowledge, retention, and smoking intention: A theory of planned behaviour approach in adolescents (12–15 years old) — case study of a state junior high school in Makassar

    Adolescent smoking in Indonesia, including Makassar City (ages 12–15), contributes to the projected rise of adult smokers. Theatre for Social Change (TFSC) is an art-based health promotion method addressing smoking behaviour using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). This quantitative, quasi-experimental study applied a pretest–post test design without control, involving 200 respondents before intervention and 186 after, with short-term retention measured later. Data were collected via questionnaires, focus group discussions, and observations, and analysed using chi-square, paired t-test, and logistic regression. Results showed a significant increase in knowledge immediately after intervention (p < 0.005), but no difference between short-term post-tests (p = 0.966). Significant effects (p < 0.005) were found in TPB variables: Attitude, Perceived Behavioural Control, Subjective Norm, Behavioural Belief, Normative Belief, Control Belief, and Intention. TFSC effectively delivers anti-smoking messages, sustaining knowledge for up to seven days

    Antioxidant potential of toraja robusta coffee extracts as a health supplement candidate

    Coffee is a beverage that is widely enjoyed by people all over the world. Its special aroma and taste, as well as its health benefits, have kept coffee popular to this day. Although coffee was discovered thousands of years ago, its potential, especially concerning its antioxidant content, has not been fully explored. The purpose of this study is to test the antioxidant strength of one of South Sulawesi's biodiversity treasures, Toraja robusta coffee extract, and to examine its relevance to sports health. The Toraja robusta coffee extract was brewed using hot water at a temperature of 92 °C. Subsequently, the antioxidant strength of the coffee extract was tested using the 2,2-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) IC50 method at a maximum wavelength of 516 nm. The results show that the antioxidant strength of Toraja robusta coffee is in the very strong category with an IC50 of 0.37 mg. Further research is needed to detect what compounds in Toraja robusta coffee act as antioxidants and to explore more deeply the potential of Toraja robusta coffee as an antioxidant supplement for athletes

    Not just gas: How solids-driven torques shaped the migration of the Galilean moons

    Context. A crucial aspect of formation models for the Galilean moons of Jupiter is that the objects survive rapid inward orbital migration. Aims. The primary aim of this study is to investigate the orbital migration of the Galilean moons by incorporating self-consistent solid dynamics in models of circumjovian disks. Methods. We performed two-fluid simulations using the code FARGO3D on a 2D polar grid. The simulations modeled a satellite with the mass of a protomoon, Europa, or Ganymede that interacts with a circumjovian disk. The dust component, coupled to the gas via a drag force, was characterized by the dust-to-gas mass ratio (ϵ) and the Stokes number (Ts). Results. The effect of solids fundamentally alters the evolution of the satellites. We identified a vast parameter space in which migration is slowed, halted, robustly reversed (leading to outward migration), or significantly accelerated inward. The migration rate is dependent on satellite mass. This provides a natural source of differential migration. Conclusions. Solid dynamics provides a robust and self-consistent mechanism that fundamentally alters the migration of the Galilean moons. This might address the long-standing migration catastrophe. This mechanism critically affects the survival of satellites and might offer a viable physical process to explain the establishment of resonances through differential migration. These findings establish that solid torques are a critical non-negligible factor in the shaping of the final architecture of satellite systems

    Discovery of a soft X-ray lag in the tidal disruption event AT2021ehb

    In this Letter, we report the detection of soft X-ray time lags – i.e., variability in the softer photons lagging behind that in the harder photons – in seven XMM–Newton observations of the tidal disruption event (TDE) candidate AT2021ehb. We find correlated variability between the soft (0.3–0.7 keV) and hard (0.9–10 keV) bands on ∼104 s timescales, and measure a soft lag of ∼500 s. This behavior is broadly consistent with the disk–corona reverberation scenario established in active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Together with the previously reported strong hard X-ray emission and broad Fe K line, our results suggest the presence of a compact corona and prominent relativistic disk reflection in AT2021ehb. The unusually high blackbody temperature (peaking at ∼200 eV) is difficult to reconcile with thermal emission from a standard accretion disk around a ∼107 M⊙ black hole, and may instead be analogous to the soft excess commonly observed in AGNs, whose physical origin remains debated. Finally, the measured lags offer a possible explanation for the rapid X-ray flux decline that occurred only three days after the peak, pointing to a scenario in which the corona cools following a sudden loss of the magnetic support required to sustain it

    Experimental Analysis of Dust Explosion Potential in Indonesian Biomass Charcoal for Nickel Industry Applications

    Indonesia, the world's leading nickel producer with 1.6 million tons produced and 55 million tons in reserves as of 2023, relies heavily on Rotary Kiln-Electric Furnace (RKEF) methods for processing its nickel ore, where coal serves as reductant and energy source, contributing to high CO2 emissions. To support net-zero emissions by 2060, biomass charcoals from agricultural wastes (coconut shells, palm kernel shells, rubber wood, and mixed wood) offer a potential renewable alternative to coal. However, dust explosion risks in high-temperature RKEF environments necessitate evaluation. This study assesses explosibility parameters of these charcoals, pure and mixed with electrostatic precipitator (ESP) dust, using a 20 L explosion chamber per ASTM E1226-19 and E1515-22. Results indicate minimum explosible concentrations (MEC) of 155 g/m3 for pure rubber wood charcoal (Kst = 35 bar·m/s, weak explosion) with reductions upon Dust ESP mixing. Coconut and palm kernel shell charcoals showed no explosibility. Compared to coal (MEC ~60 – 100 g/m3), biomass charcoals generally pose lower risks, supporting safer integration in nickel processing

    Cavités souterraines de Wallonie et des Hauts-de-France – enseignements du projet RISSC

    Le projet RISSC (2018–2022), mené en Wallonie et dans les Hauts-de-France, a visé à améliorer la prévention et la gestion des risques liés aux cavités souterraines dans un cadre transfrontalier. Bien que le changement climatique ne soit pas au cœur du projet, certaines pistes explorées permettent d’envisager ses effets potentiels sur la stabilité des cavités. Le projet a dressé un inventaire structuré des cavités souterraines, en tenant compte de leur typologie géologique, de leur origine (naturelle ou anthropique) et de leur usage. Une attention particulière a été portée aux carrières souterraines de craie, matériau très présent dans les deux régions et sensible aux variations hydriques. Pour mener une analyse accidentologique, des bases de données bien organisées et complètes sont indispensables, tant du point de vue des cavités que des mouvements de terrains engendrés. Le projet a surtout mené une réflexion sur les facteurs permanents (géologie, hydrogéologie, présence d’une cavité) et variables (conditions météorologiques, actions humaines) qui peuvent déclencher un effondrement. Actuellement, les informations disponibles restent trop partielles pour permettre une analyse aboutie, surtout pour des événements anciens. Plus récemment, une analyse accidentologique en Hesbaye (Belgique) a tenté de corréler les effondrements et les épisodes pluvieux intenses, soulignant l’importance des facteurs hydrogéologiques et topographiques. Pour mieux comprendre les mécanismes de ruine des cavités, une approche multidisciplinaire a été mise en œuvre sur d’anciennes carrières souterraines, avec des analyses in situ et en laboratoire, des travaux expérimentaux et numériques, visant notamment à comparer le comportement entre les zones sèches et saturées du site. Les essais ont montré que la résistance mécanique de la craie diminue significativement en condition saturée. Ces études se poursuivent actuellement pour mieux cerner le rôle de l’eau sur le comportement des craies en lien avec leur micro-texture. Les simulations numériques ont confirmé que les zones ennoyées présentent une instabilité accrue. Cela appelle à développer des modèles couplés hydromécaniques pour anticiper les effets des fluctuations climatiques sur la stabilité des cavités et la résilience des territoires

    in Chickens: Co-Infection dynamics, effect of production, and mitigation Strategies: A review

    In most countries where free-range and intensive farming are gaining importance, an increasing incidence of gastrointestinal nematodes is reported. Of all gastrointestinal nematodes, Ascaridia galli, a common gastrointestinal nematode in poultry, is a major risk to the health and performance of chickens, especially in semi-intensive and free-range systems. The complex dynamics of A. galli infections highlight that they predispose chickens to, or interact synergistically with, other pathogens, exacerbating clinical effects and compromising bird welfare. A. galli triggers innate and adaptive immune responses in the host, while chronic infections undermine the immune system and predispose the birds to secondary infections. The presence of A. galli negatively affects production traits such as growth rate, feed efficiency, and egg production, leading to significant economic losses. Some of the practices that have been mentioned to manage parasite infestation are rotational grazing, natural dewormers, improving biosecurity, tactical use of anthelmintics, and combined approaches to parasite control. Efficient and sustainable management strategies for modern poultry systems can only be achieved if we understand the multiple impacts of A. galli. This review aimed to critically assess and synthesise the latest research on A. galli co-infections in chickens, with emphasis on immunological mechanisms, effects on production, and the effectiveness of various control strategies. This review synthesises findings from peer-reviewed studies published between 2014 - 2024, identified through databases Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. This review highlights the current evidence and gaps, co-infection dynamics, the production effects, and the mitigation efforts, aims to support the development of improved, evidence-based practices for reducing the burden of helminth infections in commercial and smallholder poultry systems

    Utilization of Local Feed Ingredients as Nutritional Supplements to Support Metabolic Balance in Dairy Cattle

    Nutritional management plays a vital role in the productivity and health of Friesian Holstein (FH) dairy cows. Their diet primarily consists of forage, supported by concentrates and supplements to boost growth, milk yield, and prevent metabolic issues. Mung bean sprouts, rich in protein, are being explored as a potential feed additive. This study assessed the impact of mung bean sprout supplementation on blood biochemistry and liver function in FH cows. Sixteen lactating cows (4-5 years old, ~500 kg) were divided into four groups: T0 (0 g), T1 (500 g), T2 (1000 g), and T3 (1500 g), using a completely randomized design. Blood glucose, urea, and liver enzymes (ALT and AST) were measured. Results showed that 500 g supplementation (T1) significantly increased blood urea (p 0.05). These findings suggest that adding 5% mung bean sprouts to the diet can improve protein utilization without harming liver function or overall metabolism, making it a promising and safe dietary supplement for dairy cows
