Effects of Essential Amino Acid Supplementation and Ration Type on Feed Efficiency and Performance of Alabio Ducks Aged 9–20 Weeks
Determining the nutritional requirements of rations, particularly essential amino acids (EAAs), and selecting the appropriate feed form remain important in duck farming. This study evaluated the effects of different EAA levels and feed forms on feed efficiency and performance of Alabio ducks. A total of 360 female ducks aged 9 to 20 weeks were randomly allocated into 36 pens (3×2 m2) and assigned to six treatments with six replications (10 ducks per replicate) in a completely randomized 3×2 factorial design. The first factor was EAA levels (0, 10, and 20%), and the second factor was feed form (mash and pellet). Observed variables included feed consumption (FC), body weight gain (BWG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and live body weight (LBW). EAAs supplementation at different levels significantly affected (P0.05) among treatments, FCR was significantly improved (P<0.05) by EAAs addition. The best performance was observed in ducks receiving 10% EAAs with pelleted feed (T5). It is concluded that supplementing 10% EAAs in pelleted rations from 9 to 20 weeks of age improved feed efficiency and overall performance of Alabio ducks

Bandgap engineering for phononic crystals adjustment and applications
This review focuses on cutting-edge research directions in phononic crystals (PnCs), such as bandgap broadening and bandgap tunability. By elucidating the underlying physical mechanisms, it systematically compares the acoustic performance of different structural configurations. Furthermore, it explores in depth the application potential and specific case studies of such materials in fields including marine engineering. The core advantage of PnCs stems from their artificially engineered sub-wavelength structures, which enable anomalous modulation of constitutive parameters such as effective mass density and elastic modulus. This allows for precise acoustic impedance matching or mismatching, thereby efficiently controlling sound wave propagation paths and energy dissipation. Research indicates that the advancement of PnCs will significantly expand the technical approaches for ship vibration and noise reduction. Notably, with the deep integration of smart materials and digital design, PnCs are gradually evolving from static, passive structural units into dynamic, adaptive, and even intelligent acoustic processing systems. This trend not only provides transformative solutions to the long-standing challenges of low-frequency and ultra-low-frequency noise control but also heralds a new paradigm for acoustic-vibration environment regulation. In the future, major equipment and quiet spaces are expected to achieve active, precise, and programmable management of the acoustic-vibration environment, with a control logic analogous to that of electromagnetic spectrum regulation
Physicochemical and Antioxidant Characteristic of Flakes with Arrowroot and Purple Yam Flour
The growing awareness of environmental impacts has encouraged the diversification of high–mileage commodities, including reducing wheat use in flakes. Purple yams and arrowroot show potential as a wheat substitute due to their antioxidant activity. In this study, wheat flour was partially substituted with arrowroot and purple yam flour at ratios of 30:65:5, 30:60:10, and 30:55:15. The products were evaluated for chemical and physical characteristics. Antioxidant activity ranged from 5.71-24.27%, with anthocyanin levels of 30.38-40.06%. Moisture content was 2.05-4.78%, ash 1.36-1.54% wb, protein 2.33-2.72% wb, fat 20.21-21.24% wb, and carbohydrate 71.05-73.65% wb. Physically, the flakes maintained crispiness in milk for 358.25-402.25 seconds, with hardness value of 2.20-3.35 F.maxN, crispiness of 1.59-2.28 F.breakN, and color values of L* 53.42-61.50, a* 4.51-9.14, and b* 11.73-18.17. Among the formulations, the 30:55:15 ratio produced the highest antioxidant activity and a higher anthocyanin content
Promethee: Agricultural Extension Workers’ Strategy to Strengthen Their Identity for Sustainable Food Production
This research aims to select the priority strategies for strengthening the identity of agricultural extension workers according to the perspective of agricultural extension workers. Data was collected through interviews with 20 agricultural extension workers in Magelang Regency and analyzed using Promethee decision-making analysis to obtain priority rankings for the selected strategies. The analysis results of the most appropriate strategic decision-making implemented by agricultural extension workers obtained the following order: 1) strengthening the motivation and role of agricultural extension workers, 2) Improving competence and digital literacy to be adaptive in the digital era, 3) Improving qualifications and competencies in agriculture, 4) Improving agricultural literacy skills of extension workers), 5) Being responsive and adaptive to all changes in the environment, 6) Strengthening interpersonal and group approaches with farmers, 7) Improving interpersonal communication competencies and 8) Building partnerships with agricultural stakeholders
Cocoa Revitalization Sustainability in North Kolaka Regency: A Literature Review
Cocoa revitalization in North Kolaka Regency is a strategic effort to promote sustainable agriculture and rural resilience. This study examines the sustainability of cocoa revitalization across four dimensions: economic, social, environmental, and institutional. A systematic literature review of Scopus-indexed journals and reputable international publications from the past decade was conducted and analyzed using qualitative narrative synthesis. The results show that sustainability depends on the integration of these four dimensions, including strengthened agribusiness systems, farmer participation, environmentally friendly agroforestry practices, and effective institutional support. An integrated sustainability framework is therefore essential for inclusive and sustainable cocoa development in North Kolaka Regency
Advancing the Nutritional and Functional Quality of Cassava Flour through Emerging Pretreatments and Processing Innovations
Cassava flour, a gluten-free staple in tropical diets, faces key challenges related to cyanogenic glycosides, starch digestibility, and variable functionality. This review systematically synthesizes two decades of Scopus literature under the PRISMA framework to evaluate how physical, chemical, biological, and emerging clean-label pretreatments improve its nutritional and functional quality. Findings show that physical and biological methods effectively reduce hydrogen cyanide to Codex-safe limits, while heat–moisture treatment and enzymatic debranching enhance resistant starch formation and lower glycaemic potential. Improvements in water absorption, pasting stability, and microstructure support broader bakery and noodle applications. Emerging technologies including plasma, ozone, and ultrasound offer detoxification and flavour benefits but face cost and scalability constraints. Persistent gaps include cultivar variability, limited analytical consistency, and scarce sensory or storage data. Integrated pretreatment strategies can thus transform cassava flour into a safe, nutritionally improved, and functionally stable ingredient for global gluten-free markets
Evaluation of the survival of sand lobster seeds after transportation at different densities
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of density on the survival of sand lobster fry after transportation. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of three density treatments: 10 individuals/container, 15 individuals/container, and 20 individuals/container. The lobster juvenile were reared for 15 days and fed twice daily. The parameters observed were total hemocytes, plasma glucose, and lobster fry survival. The results showed that the density treatment of 10 individuals/container produced the highest survival rate, namely 76.67±5.77%. The densities of 15 individuals/container and 20 individuals/container each produced survival rates of 64.44±3.85% and 43.33±5.77%, respectively
Women’s Contributions to Mangrove Ecosystems: Indigenous Governance, Exploitation Practices, and Adaptation Strategies in Enggros and Tobati, Youtefa Bay
Mangrove ecosystems in Youtefa Bay, Jayapura, function not only as ecological buffers but also as socio-cultural spaces that sustain Indigenous livelihoods, particularly for women. This study aimed to examine the roles of Indigenous women in mangrove utilization, customary governance, and adaptation strategies in Enggros and Tobati villages. A qualitative ethnographic case study approach was applied, using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), participant observation, and document analysis involving 25 informants. The findings reveal that women are central actors in mangrove management, locally recognized as women's forests through shellfish harvesting, social cohesion, and intergenerational knowledge transmission. Distinct patterns of mangrove use were identified, with Enggros showing collective semi-commercial practices and Tobati emphasizing subsistence and household food security. However, these customary systems are increasingly challenged by infrastructure development, pollution, and declining knowledge transfers. This study recommends strengthening gender-sensitive mangrove governance by formally recognizing Indigenous women's ecological knowledge and integrating customary institutions into coastal management policies to ensure ecological sustainability and social equity
Distribution of Water Quality Parameters and Their Implications for Habitat White Shrimp (
Teluk Bintuni Regency covers 20,840.83 km2, representing approximately 20.6% of West Papua Province. Central to this region is Bintuni Bay, a semi-enclosed estuarine system connected to Berau Bay on the western side. The bay provides a favourable habitat for the white shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis), making the area well known for its white shrimp production, together with capture fisheries and crab harvesting. Given that white shrimp depends on stable environmental conditions, this study aimed to assess key water quality parameters in Bintuni Bay and document shrimp landings during the research period. Temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO) were measured in-situ at 19 sampling stations, and the data were spatially interpolated to illustrate environmental patterns across the harvesting zones. The shrimp catch volumes and fishing locations were obtained through interviews with local fishers. Results showed temperature ranges of 20-36 °C, salinity of 17-29 ppt, pH of 6.6-9.12, and DO of 4.6-6.9 mg/L, indicating conditions suitable for sustaining white shrimp populations. The major harvesting areas included RKI, Tabaresi, Pera-pera, Magarina, Asrin, Weriagar, Otoweri, RKI and Pera-pera. RKI and Pera-pera producing the highest yields of shrimp in this bay
