Erkennung von Mensch-Objekt-Interaktionen auf omnidirektionalen Bildaufnahmen

    No full text
While current HOI methods are mainly trained on perspective images, omnidirectional cameras are gaining importance due to their ultra-wide field of view, enabling coverage of significantly larger spaces compared to conventional cameras. However, the optical distortions inherent to fisheye lenses often cause traditional computer vision algorithms to produce unreliable results. This thesis explores how existing HOI detection methods can be adapted to address the unique challenges of fisheye images. Using the method of transfer learning, an established HOI model was fine-tuned on two custom datasets. Additionally, an annotation tool was developed for the labeling of HOI triplets, which has been made publicly available to support the research community. Experimental results demonstrate that HOI models can be successfully adapted to handle distortions in omnidirectional images through transfer learning, achieving a detection accuracy of up to 85%. This work highlights the feasibility of bridging the gap between conventional HOI frameworks and the demands of fisheye-based vision systems.:1 Einleitung 1.1 Problemstellung 1.2 Zielsetzung 1.3 Forschungsfragen 2 Grundlagen 2.1 Mensch-Objekt-Interaktion 2.2 Verfahren für die HOI-Erkennung 2.2.1 Zweistufige Verfahren 2.2.2 Einstufige Verfahren 2.2.3 End-To-End Verfahren 2.2.4 Übersicht 2.3 Datensätze 2.3.1 HICO-DET 2.3.2 V-COCO 2.3.3 360Action 2.4 Augmentierungsmethoden 2.5 Faltungsnetze 2.6 Transferlernen 3 Verwandte Arbeiten 3.1 HOI-Erkennung in Echtzeit 3.2 HOI-Erkennung in 360° Aufnahmen 3.3 Transferlernen auf Fischaugenbildern 4 Auswahl des Modells 4.1 HoiTransformer 4.1.1 Backbone 4.1.2 Encoder 4.1.3 Decoder 4.1.4 Prediction Head 5 Datenerzeugung 5.1 Fischaugen-HOI-Datensatz 5.2 Datenaugmentierung 5.3 Annotationssoftware 5.3.1 HOI-Det-UI 5.3.2 HOI Labeling Tool 6 Methode 6.1 Daten 6.2 Evaluierungsmetrik 6.3 Trainingsaufbau 7 Ergebnisse und Auswertung 7.1 Quantitative Ergebnisse 7.2 Qualitative Ergebnisse 8 Schluss 8.1 Fazit 8.2 Ausblic

Impact of Arctic Cirrus on the Radiative Energy Budget: Observations and Representation in the Integrated Forecasting System

    No full text
    The Arctic continues to be a 'hot spot' for climate change. There is an active debate in the scientific community whether and how changes in the Arctic climate system also affect the weather and climate in the mid-latitudes. Representing the Arctic properly in models is a major part of the research done in this area. From the perspective of numerical weather prediction (NWP) models, it has been shown that a better representation of the atmospheric state of the Arctic does not only lead to improved medium-range forecasts for the Arctic region but also for the mid-latitudes. Thus, an improved understanding and representation of atmospheric processes in the Arctic is essential to improve the forecast quality of NWP models. One important puzzle piece in the Arctic system are clouds. Due to their small spatial scale, cloud processes are parameterized in global NWP models. The basis for these parameterizations are measurements and more complex models of the physical processes, which need to be parameterized. Cirrus play an important part in the radiative budget of the Arctic atmosphere. Their interaction with solar and terrestrial radiation is one of these complex processes that need to be parameterized. However, due to the remoteness of the Arctic there are insufficient measurements available to allow these parameterizations to be tailored to the Arctic. Therefore, this thesis explores the influence of Arctic cirrus on the radiative budget in the Arctic using new airborne measurements from an aircraft campaign in spring 2022. In detail, during two measurement flights in the central Arctic over sea ice in April 2022, one measurement section was flown below and one above an isolated cirrus. Furthermore, the measurements are used to evaluate the representation of Arctic cirrus in the Integrated Forecasting System (IFS) of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), specifically in the radiation scheme ecRad, using sensitivity studies.:Chapter 1: Introduction . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 1.1 Radiative Effect of Arctic Cirrus . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 1.1.1 Surface and Top-of-Atmosphere Radiative Effect . . . . . . . . 4 1.1.2 Ice Crystal Shape . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5 1.2 Formation, Microphysical and Radiative Properties of Cirrus . . . . . 6 1.3 Representation of Cirrus in Numerical Weather Prediction Models . . 9 1.3.1 Simplified Radiative Transfer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9 1.3.2 Ice Optics Parameterizations . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10 1.4 Objectives . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12 Chapter 2: Fundamentals of Radiative Transfer . . . . . . . . . . . . . 13 2.1 Radiometric Quantities . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 13 2.2 Particle Optical Properties . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15 2.2.1 Particle Size . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15 2.2.2 Optical Cross Sections . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 16 2.2.3 Single-scattering Albedo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 17 2.2.4 Scattering Phase Function . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 17 2.2.5 Asymmetry Parameter . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 19 2.3 Cloud Microphysical Properties . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 19 2.4 Bulk Optical Properties . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 20 2.5 Effective Radius . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 21 2.6 Radiative Transfer Equation . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 23 2.6.1 General Formulation . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 23 2.6.2 Considering the RTE in Global Models . . . . . . . . . . . . . 24 2.7 Radiative Transfer in the IFS - Arbeitsbelastung von Lehrkräften an berufsbildenden Schulen

    No full text

    No full text

Market penetration of fuel cell vehicles: Analysis based on agent behaviour

    No full text
This paper discusses the market penetration of fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) in Germany from the perspectives of different stakeholders. There are several economic studies and models describing the introduction of hydrogen-powered vehicles, but most of them focus on only one segment of the car market. Most studies analyse the impacts of FCVs on the automotive industry or the demand for FCVs separately, while others look at the required hydrogen infrastructure, but none of these analyses examines the car market as a whole. The analysis takes into account the actions of the whole market (consumers, automotive manufacturers, filling station owners and policymakers) and their interactions. According to the results of the System Dynamics model the combination of tax-free hydrogen fuel, subsidies on FCVs and sufficient hydrogen infrastructure supply will lead to quick market penetration of FCVs. The analysis clearly shows that the government is recommended to support the installation of a sufficient number of hydrogen filling pumps at the beginning of the market introduction (e.g. 500 filling stations). Due to the model results, approximately 4.8 billion Euros are needed to reach a successful market penetration of FCVs. Thereby about one-third of all passenger cars will be driven with hydrogen in 2040 and even two-third in 2050. Primarily subsidies and tax allowances for the vehicles are necessary to reduce the price of FCVs to the average level of modern diesel cars; otherwise consumers' acceptance of FCVs will be very low. A rapid introduction of FCVs based on these policies is necessary in order to limit the cumulative subsidies for the vehicles and the fuel-tax deficit

The German Transmission Grid Expansion in longterm perspective – What is the impact of Renewable Integration?

    No full text
The German power sector will face a profound change from conventional power generation to an energy system with a high share of intermittent renewable energy sources. The following analysis addresses the future transmission grid design for Germany in 2030 in a context of different renewable integration schemes. Therefore a DC load flow model is set-up, which deals with the trade-off between grid expansion and regional renewable integration. Two scenarios concerning different renewable feed-in design options are considered: curtailment of renewables only at negative prices in the height of their individual levelized costs of electricity, and curtailment at marginal costs (tending to zero). To cope with the large-scale network capacity expansion problem, Benders Decomposition and DC-load flow approximation are applied. The results show that the different renewable integration schemes have different effects on the AC grid expansions in contrast to High-Voltage-DirectCurrent (HVDC) connections
