Background and aim: Melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) gene influences obesity. Previous studies have shown that interaction between dietary factors and genetic variants can modulate the association of these polymorphisms with obesity. Therefore, in this study the interaction between dietary patterns and MC4R polymorphisms in relation to obesity phenotypes was investigated. Material and methods: This cohort study was performed in the framework of Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study; for eligible participants in this study (n=3850), the average follow-up was 4.1 years. Dietary patterns were determined using factor analysis on 13 foods groups. The genotypes of polymorphisms (rs17782313 and rs12970134) were identified and their interaction with dietary patterns were assessed in relation to incidence of obesity phenotypes including central obesity, general obesity and visceral adiposity dysfunction. Results: Two major dietary patterns (healthy and unhealthy dietary patterns) were identified. In this study, Individuals in the higher quartiles of the healthy dietary pattern score were older with more activity and less smoking, they also had higher anthropometric indices (p<0.001). In contrast, individuals in the higher quartiles of the unhealthy dietary pattern score were younger with more smoking that may induce lower anthropometric indices in these subjects people(p<0.001). Education level also was related to dietary pattern score (P <0.001). In this study, no significant association was observed between characteristics of the study population (age, sex, smoking, level of education) and the genotype of MC4R polymorphisms. In current study, no significant association was observed between quartiles of dietary patterns and the genotype of MC4R polymorphisms with the incidence of obesity phenotypes. There was an interaction between MC4R SNP (rs17782313) and healthy dietary pattern in relation to general obesity (P interaction=0.01), no significant interactions between MC4R SNPs and dietary patterns in relation to other obesity phenotypes were observed. For rs17782313 C-allele carriers (TC+CC), being in the higher quartiles of the healthy dietary pattern score had a significant decrease in the incidence of general obesity, compared with those who had TT genotype (HR=0.61, 95% CI=0.42-0.89). Also for rs12970134 A-allele carriers (GA+AA), being in the second quartiles of the healthy dietary pattern score had a significant decrease in the incidence of general obesity, compared with those in the lowest quartiles (HR=0.68, 95% CI=0.46-0.99). Conclusion: Our study suggests that there was an interaction between rs17782313 and healthy dietary pattern in relation to incidence of general obesity. Apparently, the healthy dietary pattern adherence can be useful for in reducing the incidence of obesity in this genetic group. Given the high stress and unfriendly environment caused by imprisonment, prisoners are at risk of developing insomnia. It is important to understand potential intervention (in this case, mindfulness) in improving insomnia for this population. The present study investigated whether dispositional mindfulness can be beneficial in helping relieve insomnia among Iranian prisoners. It also investigated whether psychological distress and perceived stress are potential mediators. Male prisoners (N=208) aged 39.08 years (SD= 7.85) completed questionnaires and reported their demographic information and mindfulness (at baseline); psychological distress and sleep quality (at 1 month after baseline assessment); sleep quality and insomnia (at 3 months after baseline assessment). The mediation models using 10,000 bootstrapping resamples showed that sleep quality and insomnia significantly improved when mindfulness increased. Moreover, psychological distress and stress partially mediated the aforementioned association between dispositional mindfulness and sleep quality/insomnia. Using mindfulness to improve sleep quality/insomnia may be a promising psychological intervention for prisoners

Food fraud is referred to as the intentional substitution addition tampering or misrepresentation of food. Food fraud is a broader term than the economically motivated adulteration. Different method are performed of fraud for instances include carcinogen colorants in foods, melamine in milk, species swapping of seafood, dilution of fruit juices, unauthorized repackaging.Although the vast majority of food fraud incidents do not pose a public health risk, some cases have resulted in actual or potential public health risks such as continuous consumption a substance that can be used as the artificial colors. It is not known conclusively how widespread food fraud is in Iran or worldwide therefore this deficit gave us the motivation for our review. In the total of 203 food samples tested in 72 (35.46) samples were detected food fraud therefore this survey showed that economically motivated food fraud and adulteration was an emerging and serious food safety problem in Iran. The results of the survey can be used not only to analyze food safety risks but also to prioritize target areas for food policymaking and enforcement of food safety regulation

Background Ionizing and non-ionizing radiation are widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Considering the potential risks of radiation, radiation safety training courses are important for medical staff. Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of one-day radiation safety training program in increasing the radiation safety knowledge of physicians. Methods In this descriptive-analytical study, subjects were 12 physicians (6 general practitioners and 6 nonradiologist specialists) participated in the training program organized by Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in 2018. A researcher-made questionnaire was used for surveying physicians before and after the training. The mean and standard deviation of the scores were first calculated. Then, the pre- and post-test scores were compared using Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and the correlation of these scores with their age, gender, expertise area, and work experience was examined by Spearman's correlation test. Findings The mean total scores of the physicians before and after training were 7.00±2.56 (ranged 3-11) and 11.92± 2.31 (ranged 8-15) out of 18, respectively. The radiation safety knowledge of physicians significantly increased after training (P<0.001). No significant relationship was found between their scores and their age, gender, expertise area and work experience. Conclusion The radiation safety training program was effective in increasing the radiation safety knowledge of physicians and it can be used for a larger community of physicians

Abstract Background and Aim: Prison and prisoners, because of difficulties and barriers they are facing, they are neglected parts of several branches of health context. In the field of mental health there are deficiencies of manuals and guidelines for prison. On the other hand the prevalence and the burden of mental disorders are higher in prisons than general population. The most conducted interventions in prisons is the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). In the last three decades, there have been the third wave of cognitive therapies spreading all around the world. Mindfulness based interventions are several packages that are believed to be effective on wide domains of physical and mental health problems. This treatments are used for several population of prisoners around the world, including mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT). MBCT eventually was developed to treat people with several major depressive episodes. Literature has shown that MBCT is effective on mental and physical health. The aim of present study was to investigate the effects of mindfulness based cognitive therapy on mental health of prisoners. Methods: The present study is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) that was performed February 2019 to march 2020 on 140 prisoners of central prison of Rasht city. They allocated randomly in experimental or control groups. Experimental group received weekly sessions on MBCT for six weeks. The techniques in this group includes some meditation, relaxation and physical movements. On the other hand, control group received CBT alongside with the Exp group in the same time and duration. They received some cognitive techniques using some charts and handouts. Mental health of prisoners assessed with HADS, BDI, GHQ12, PSQI, MAAS and ISI questionnaires. Data was collected before the intervention, and 1 and 6 mounts after the intervention. Repeated Measures Analyses was conducted using SPSS 24. Results: data analyses had shown that the EXP group have greater outcomes in all mental health measures. Mean scores of anxiety, depression, general health, perceived stress, mindfulness score, sleep quality and insomnia severity improved after the intervention that demonstrates positive relation with education for prisoners. Conclusion: the results from this study indicates that the MBCT has promising effects on improving of mental health of prisoners. Because of importance of prisoner's mental health, MBCT could be used widely in prison settings. Keywords: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mental Health, MBCT, CB
