    Wood use in civil buildings has shown increasing demand whether for structural or non structural means. The demand itself can not be fulfilled because on the lack of lumber woods in large diameter. On the other hand, bamboo has not been optimally exploted althougth research results have shown that bamboo has strength and better performance compared to other building materials. This research was aimed to reveal the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo Petung. Preliminary research was made the physical and mechanical properties specimens bamboo Petung, which following the ISO 3129-197 standard test method. The result experiment showed that bamboo modulus of elasticity (MOE) obtained was 13257.65 MPa, therefore could be classified as strength class E13. The result of mechanical way test showed that modulus of rapture(MOR), the tensile strength, compression strength parallel, compression strength upright, the shear strength were 29 MPa, 27 MPa, 33 MPa, 11 MPa and 5 MP

Data the used is monthly rainfall during 10 years start from year 1997 till 2006. Method which is used in data analysis that is method of Kagan. Pursuant to result of Method analysis of Kagan for the SWS of Lambunu-Buol with amount of existing rain post in this time amount to 13 posts with mistake of calculation according to result of analysis 2,814 % obtained by distance between post 45,199 km, amountly have answered the demand of but spreading of rain post not yet fulfilled what required by Kagan, so that require to be conducted by post reposition.     The general aim of the studi was to identify the influence of spatial and social transformation process tha had been taking place (2003) on the social prosperity of the urban fringe community. The particular aims of the study were (1) to identify the changing effects of the land function as the result of the new settlement development toward the social economic contidion of community in the urban fringe, and (2) to identify the social interaction pattern of local community.The result of the study indicated that were changing effects of the land function from cultivation land toward non-cultivation land (the harbor development) on the range of family income of the local community (social economic condition).It could be concluded that with regard to the physical change of the land, most of people who had previosly had a job in the cultivation sector moved to another job (informal sector); while the rest had never had a job.     Controlled Permeability Formwork (CPF) can be used to improve the strength, durability and appearance ofconcrete. This is achieved by allowing excess water and gas to escape at the surface adjacent to theformwork. This paper reports a study aimed at assessing whether such permeable formwork can be used toreduce curing times whilst maintaining durability and strength characteristics. An experimental study isdescribed where trial walls are constructed and tested at various ages following different curing periods andregimes. Results are presented that compare the outcomes of using permeable membrane with those of usinga traditional formwork. Comparisons of durability characteristics are were. The durability of the walls wasassessed by techniques such as: permeability; and water absorption. Results are presented in terms of howdifferent curing regimes can be employed to achieve equivalent characteristics. A discussion of how suchtechniques may be used to reduce construction time is presented

    The growth fisherman settlement is a natural event and this phenomenon is also happened at Kampung Lere so that it taudification as well as inconvenient arrangement. This will potentially decrease environmental quality. The purpose of this research is to assess the possibility of developing a fisherman settlement in kampong Lere without ignoring the environment quality by settlement environmental planning. The research is conducted on August 2002 by survey. The acquired data were then compiled and analyzed by qualitative analysis. The sample included all houses and building in the area. The study area is 31,64 Ha. The result shows that the residence fisherman at Kampong Lere, is to be kept.     Dry and wetting cycle in tropical area are usual cycle with high intensity. Those usually affect soils to beshrinkage at drying condition. It can be determine by the decrease of soil moisture content. In other hand,swelling process will occur in wetting side that actually cause the increase of volume of soils due to watercontent. This phenomena should be can caused by several factors such as soils mineral, climate (intensity ofrain), humidity and gravitation. This study aims to explore the change of volume and shear strength of soilsdue to dry and wetting cycle.Shrinkage limits test shows that shrinkage limit of soils more than 12%, it can be conclude that the typesoils at Kalukubula regency have slightly swelling potential. At 2 days until 10 days in drying process, theshrinkage limit was 21.37% to 47.87% with soil’s volume change from 18.06% decrease to 6.06%. while inwetting process, the shrinkage limit of soils was 46.70% to 26.06% with soil’s volume change from 0.18%increase to 10.17%. Swelling test shows that the swelling potential of soils was lower that 0.5% to average(0.5%- 1.5%).     The Old City of Donggala is a historical part of the city wich has very special colonial character. As such, it is a very valuable asset for the city, not just because of its buildings and artifacts but also because of its infrastructure. It has been designated as a main priority area for revitalization. It is a pity, however, that this priceless gem has been neglected for quite a long time, and its vitality is diminishing if not dying. Today the Old City has lost most of its function as the center of Donggala.The involution (due to poor urban development manage-ment practices) which forced the central business district to move from the old city to other part of the city has caused the decline of the area. This is market by the process of resident and business flights. The strategic importance of the Old City for economic and mixed-us function has gradually been diminished. Most of the land-use and space-use has changed. Some buildings have become storehouse , while others have been completely abandoned. The decline of the Old City made it lost it prestige as a place for offices, shops, cafes and other commercial activities as it was in the past. As business activities have dropped, so has the revenues coming into the area

    The main problem in designing construction structure on soft soil is a considerable large deformation, therefore in this research light material is used that is styrofoam concrete to replace landfill in raft footing so the deformation can be reduced. The percentage styrofoam used in concrete miixture are 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100%, then the deformation form caused by construction weight is analysed using Plaxis sofware version 7.0 with soil model Mohr-Coulomb at three soil water surface condition, they are in very deep water surface, in foundation base and on soil surface. The research result shows that the large the total construction weight, the larger vertical and horisontal movements happened. For styrofoam concrete with the percentage of styrofoam 100% the vertical movement is the opposite direction with other material-fills, because the total weight of construction is lesser than excavated soil weight at 2,45 meter deep
