    Nowadays, concrete construction even it small, medium and large scale; normally use natural sand (sand river) as fine aggregate and artificial aggregate from crushed stone as coarse aggregate; and it is rarely found concrete mix which consist of both natural fine and coarse aggregates because bond capacity between natural coarse aggregate and cement paste lower than between artificial coarse aggregate and cement paste.This research aims to know the performance of natural coarse aggregate, which was used for high performance concrete (HPC) with use admixture. Tests were carried out by using specimens of concrete cube with size of 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm and vary of water cement ratio and percentage of admixture CONPLAST SP – 420 using both natural and artificial coarse aggregate.The results of this research show that although natural coarse aggregate replaced by 50 % with artificial coarse aggregate; the resulted concrete compression strength not too significant compare to concrete mix use natural coarse aggregate; furthermore, replace 50 % artificial coarse aggregate with natural aggregate can reduce the cost of concrete productio

    There are many methods which used to analyze flood hydrograph, started from the simplest Rational Methods to the most complex mathematical models. One of them is Nakayasu Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (SUH) which has been known and used in wide area. Without realized, actually the use of the methods has been given a large deviation if compared with the measured river hydrograph. It is especially caused by the using of rainfall distribution pattern which be the input of the Nakayasu SUH Methods. This research was conducted to investigate the effect of rainfall distribution pattern to the peak discharge of Nakayasu SUH Methods using some rainfall distribution pattern such as Mononobe, ABM and Tadashi Tanimoto which applied on Bangga watershed. The result of the research using 10 elected flood data show that the average deviation from the biggest to the smallest, respectively are Mononobe (69.42 %), ABM (59.44 %) and Tadashi Tanimoto (22.42 %

    Using of charcoal dust of coconut shell in asphalt concrete mixture has been researched with some variations of number of blow to characteristic of asphalt concrete mixture type III.The aim of this research is to know characteristic of asphalt concrete mixture of type III which using charcoal dust of coconut shell with vary number of blow.Scenarios of variation of number of blow were twice of 75, twice of 100, twice of 200, and twice of 250 of blows. Scenarious of variation of charcoal dust of coconut shell content were 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8%.Results of research showed that performance of stability, flow and durability of asphalt concrete mixture type III increase at using 2 % of charcoal dust of coconut shell with twice of 75 of blows. The more number of blows at asphalt concrete mixture of type III, tend to increase MQ value of asphalt concrete mixture for both with or without charcoal dust of coconut shell; which meant asphalt more stiff and tend to brittle, which it finally crash easily. The more number of blows and the higher percentage of charcoal dust of coconut shell in making specimen can decrease characteristic of durability of asphalt concrete

    The aim of this research is to know characteristic of Marshall Stability and Marshall Immersion value of the old asphalt mixing that recycling by rejuvenating diesel oil. The old Asphalt mix from asphalt pavement deteroration on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Palu Central Sulawesi.Result of extraction test of old asphalt mix was to found the asphalt content 4,6%. This scenarios of recycling asphalt in this research were five varieties of asphalt content and five varieties of rejuvenating agent. Varieties of asphalt content are 4,6% (without added of new asphalt), 5,1%, 5,6%, 6,1% and 6,6%. Varieties of rejuvenating agent are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Specimen of asphalt pavement recycled testing by Marshall stability testing machine and volumetric analysis.The result of Marshall testing on Optimum Bitumen Content was found that increasing of rejuvenating agent content in asphalt recycling mix caused Marshall stability ,Marshall Immersion and Density Values were decrease. From Marshall stability value, maximum content of rejuvenating agent still required specification is 35,29% and from Marshall immersion value, maximum content of rejuvenating agent is 46,18

    A STUDY ON PATTERN DAMAGE OF FINGER JOINTS IN BAMBOO LAMINATED BEAMS

    The aim of this study was to know the pattern damage of finger joints in bamboo laminated beams. The dimension of laminated beams were manufactured in 1200 mm length, 140 mm deep and 50 mm wide, which consisted of horizontally laminate of 5 mm in thickness. The finger joint consisted of two variations that were horizontal and vertical directions. One variation of other beam was manufactured in the form of clear straight beams as comparator parameters. The bending shear test was conducted with a three-point static bending.The result of research indicated that the joint areas, which the parameter of glue spread have to influence on the strength. Consequently, degradation of strength occurs on all of adhesive jointed beam can reach 48%, while the optimum strength of jointed beams can reach 82% of clear straight beams. This research identify that the pattern damage of laminated beams tends on a mixed mode failure between tension and compression.     This paper discuss about effectiveness of heat exchanger in the cooling system of hydropower generator.Data obtained from generator cooled PLTA at Sulewana, Poso. The type of heat exchanger is compact heatexchanger, with dimensions: : SL=0.021 m, SD=0.029 m, ST=0.04 m, L=1.5 m, DTubing=0.019m. The resultshows that air temperature continues to decrease after passing through the cooler. Air temperature duringthe first pass through to the cooler is 75°C and continues to decline as a generator that drives the movementof air through the cooler, and the cooling water continues to rise from the initial temperature of 28oC to34oC. On the other hand, bamboo has not been optimally exploted althougth research results have shown that bamboo has strength and better performance compared to other building materials. This research was aimed to reveat the physical and mechanical properties bamboo. Preliminary research was made the physical and mechanical properties specimen bamboo, which following the ISO 1329-1975 standard test method. The result experiment showed that bamboo specific gravity 0,745 gr/cm3 of mainland area and 0,614 gr/cm3 for mountain area.
