Penggunaan Onggok sebagai Sumber Energi dalam Ransum Sapi
The utilization of cassava meal residues as energy source in dairy cows rationABSTRACT. The dairy farmer in the rural village, usually use rice brain and coconut meat kernels as the energy source, although coconut meat kernels is less palatable and too expensive. It is, therefore, important to seek for the other materials which are locally available and inexpensive. An experiment had carried out, using five lactating dairy cows in a Change Over Design as long as five periods. Each period lasted for 21 days, consisted of 14 days preliminary and seven days observation period. The animal function as column and the period as row, so that its 5 x 5 Latin Square. The treatment tested are five substitution levels of coconut meat kernels by cassava meal residues of 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5 and 15 percent dry matter ration respectively. The variables measured were : (1) ration digestibility and essential minerals balance; (2) daily milk production and milk composition; (3) rumen fermentation product. Based on the analysis of variance of all variables measured the experiment suggested that cassava meal residues can be used as the energy source to substitute coconut meat kernels in kernels in lactating dairy cattle ration of 5 up to 15 percent dry matter ration, without causing physiological disorder moreover, increases the milk composition

The influence of rice straw fermentation using white rot fungi and saccharomyces cerevisiae supplementation on in vitro nutrient digestibilityABSTRACT. An experiment to investigate the effect of rice straw fermented using white rot fungi and Saccharomyces cerevisiae supplementation on nutrient digestibility In Vitro had been implemented in two phases. The first experiments undertaken to make rice straw fermentation, using experimental methods with a Completely Randomized Design. As the treatment were White rot fungi (Phanerochaete chrysosporium) 0, 5 and 10 g/kg of rice straw (DM basis). Each treatment was repeated six times, so there are 18 experimental units. The variables measured included nutrient content of rice straw. A second experiment carried out in vitro to test the best rice straw fermentation results of the first experiment, using experimental methods, with a Completely Randomized Design. As the treatment were the supplementation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (0, 2, 4% of the weight of fermented rice straw, DM basis). The variables measured included digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, cellulose and lignin digestibility of feed containing fermented straw. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance test followed by Orthogonal Polynomials. The results can be concluded that the fermented rice straw using Phanerochaete chrysosporium 10 g/kg of rice straw is the best nutrient content. Saccharomyces cerevisiae supplementation on feed that contains fermented rice straw using Phanerochaete chrysosporium 10 g/kg rice straw is 2%

Konsep Ideal Protein (Asam amino) Fokus Pada Ternak Ayam Pedaging (review artikel)
Ideal protein (amino acids) concept focused on broiler ABSTRACT. Accurate estimation of the amino acid requirement is very importance for diet formulation in growing animals such as broiler. Inadequate formulation of dietary amino acids will impair protein utilization and increase the total nitrogen output to the environment. Amino acids requirement of animals changes due to dietary, sex, and genetic and environmental factors. To address all potential combinations of factors with dose-response experiments is almost impossible. Thus the ideal protein concept provides a simple and effective approach to solve this problem. Based on this concept, the requirement of indispensible amino acids can be determined. For this concept, lysine has been used as the reference amino acid to calculate other indispensable amino acids due to several considerations. This paper will review more detailed about protein concept based on amino acid profile by using broiler as sampel review
Hubungan Polimorfisme Gen Laktoferin dengan Kualitas Susu pada Sapi Perah Friesian-Holstein
Association of Lactoferrin Polymhorphism on Milk Yield and Milk Quality in Holstein-Friesian Dairy CowsABSTRACT. The purposes of this study were to identify the polymorphism of the lactoferrin gene and the association of genetic variants of the lactoferrin gene on milk quality in Holstein-Friesian (HF) cows. The study was conducted on 194 heads of HF lactating cows coming from semi intensive of small dairy farmers in two villages of the KPSBU Lembang, Lembang district. Investigation on variant genotypes of the lactoferrin gene used PCR-RFLP method. Genotyping of the lactoferrin gene with EcoRI restriction enzyme produced two genotypes, i.e. AA (65%) and AB (35%) genotypes. Both the AA and AB genotypes had inconsistency in controlling component of the milk quality. Further, the AB lactoferrin cows had a higher frequency in the classification of low somatic cells count (0.75), while the AA cows were at a higher frequency in the classification of high somatic cells count (0.60). It was concluded that there is no strong relationship between intron 6 lactoferrin gene with milk quality parameters. Further, the AB genotype of the lactoferrin gene had a consistency in producing lower somatic cells count compared to the AA genotype

Spermatozoa motility of local chicken in coconut water, physiological nacl and physiological nacl-coconut water at 25-29c)ABSTRACT. This study aimed to determine the effect of coconut water diluent, physiological NaCl and combination of coconut water-physiological NaCl to the survival of chicken spermatozoa at room temperature (25-29C). Semen was collected from a local chicken of 1.5 years old with weight of 2 kg in massage twice a week. Once evaluated, a good quality semen was divided into 3 treatment groups: coconut water (P1), physiological saline (P2), and its combination (P3) with the addition of 20% egg yolk [(P1) 80:0:20 (P2) 0:80:20 and (P3) 40:40:20] and stored at room temperature. Evaluation of spermatozoa motility conducted every 1 hour until reaching 40% of spermatozoa motility. Data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with design patterns Split-plot and if there are differences between treatments tested by Duncan's multiple test. The results showed that motility of spermatozoa is significantly different (p 0.05) between storage time and diluent and there are interactions between storage time and diluent. P2 is able to maintain the minimum percentage of inseminated sperm motility (40%) for 4 hours, followed by P3 for 1 hour, and the lowest percentage motility of spermatozoa present in P1 for 0 hours. It can be concluded that the percentage of spermatozoa motility in group P2 is higher than P1 and P3
