The research location is a flood-prone area, namely 4 (four) districts/cities around the Greater Bandung metropolitan area in West Java Province, Indonesia. All of them have a high flood hazard index. In conclusion, sustainable flood management requires the involvement and participation of various stakeholders from the community simultaneously. Flood management in collaborative governance must be carried out with a systematic approach and synergy from multiple disaster management efforts. Therefore, strengthening a sense of crisis, commitment, shared roles and responsibilities, and continuity of cooperation/collaboration in governance networks is needed to maintain effective flood management

Abstract: In democratic life, community participation plays a critical role. This is because the ultimate goal of a democracy being built is to create direct public participation. One form of democratic development is through elections. To see community participation in general elections, it can be done through social exchanges. Therefore, this study aims to dissect the social exchange theory perspective of people's participation in democratic life through general elections. Studying social exchanges between the community and political elites is fair. It does not violate regulations—descriptive qualitative research method with primary and secondary data retrieval through sources relevant to the research object. Humans are rational beings who always count the sacrifices and rewards of a situation. In any condition, humans will still think about what benefits they get. In the context of democratic life through elections between the public and political elites, it is seen that social exchanges occur between elites who need help (needs votes) and people who look more at economic benefits and psychological comfort. In this study, the author also reveals mutually beneficial relationships between the elite and the community that lead to social exchanges. Keywords: Social Exchange, Community Participation, General Election, Democracy

So that the activities carried out by the company are of worship value for business actors. This is normative legal research that refers to primary, secondary and tertiary materials. The result of the study is that CSR is contained in the teachings of Islam; Islam has long been building a system of life-based on social principles and justice. Islam strongly supports CSR because it cannot be denied that business creates many unexpected social problems. As a result, it is the responsibility of the company and the company to fix the problem. This is natural because they need to explore various natural resources for business sustainability. Therefore, they must be responsible for the community and the environment in return

The flow of Indonesian labour migration abroad is increasing day by day. This is due to unresolved domestic labour problems. The legal problem highlighted in this article is how constitutional rights of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) are protected by legal assurances and practice. This is a normative legal research project that explains, investigates, and analyzes the legal protection of Indonesian migrant workers' rights overseas. The discussion results show that legal guarantees and legal protection practices for PMI's constitutional rights abroad are pretty good and are considered advanced because they use the migrant worker protection convention as the paramount consideration, although there are still inconsistencies in applying the rules

    Get PDF
The health literature has often emphasized the negative impact of stress on work performance among health workers. However, the impact of stress and its key predictors on work performance among public sector staff in developing countries remains unknown. This study has examined the influence of stress and its main predictors on work performance among public servants in an African country. Using Ghana’s public sector as a case, 157 staff of the Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS) and its aligned institutions responded to a self-administered survey. Results indicate that matching income to expenses was the most significant predictor of stress. Also, while stress generally negatively impacted work performance, a minimum level of stress was found to have a positive impact on work performance. The findings reinforce the importance of improved remuneration for reducing work stress towards improved work performance among public sector departments in developing countries

    Get PDF
The development of global dynamics has led to a shift in the security paradigm, one of which is in the food sector.  Based on FAO's qualification for food security, Indonesia is at a relatively stable point in its food security index. But this is also a concern for the government considering that Indonesia is also experiencing a period of Covid 19 which forces food consumption to increase. The appointment of the Ministry of Defense as the leading sector in the food sector is a strategic policy of the government with regard to the country's defense in non-military threats. This paper uses role theory, defense concepts and food security concepts in discussing the topic. The results of this study saw that Indonesia's food security index from the availability aspect reached a score of 67.36, aspects of food access (79.56), utilization aspects (67.97) and food stability (72.11). The appointment of the Ministry of Defense as the leading sector places Central Kalimantan as a food estate considering that the province has a relatively sufficient food availability score.  Central Kalimantan is projected to be a source of food reserves for areas that lack food index so that food stability in Indonesia can increase.
