This paper aims to analyze the text in the Tanjung Barulak Sufi manuscript, Tanah Datar district. This study uses a philological research method with the object of study being a manuscript with the code 02/BB.II/twf/2021. This method has six working steps: manuscript inventory, manuscript description, manuscript grouping and comparison, selection of text edition methods, transliteration, and additional studies. This study reveals four main teachings of the Naqsyabandiyah Sufi order, first, absolute obedience to the teacher based on the terminology of the text "believe in Allah and the Prophet and the teacher", "uphold the command of Allah and the command of the Prophet and the command of the teacher and stay away from the command of Allah and the command of the Prophet and the command of the teacher". Second, dhikr by saying lâ ilâha illallâh. Third, zuhud means setting aside worldly affairs when we perform rituals of worship to Allah. And fourth, tauhid, namely adhering firmly to the i\u27tikad of the Qadariyah and Jabbariyah people

This study evaluates a streamlined approach to Arabic grammar instruction designed to help university students master Qirâ’at al-Kutub. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the effectiveness of a simplified Arabic grammar teaching method in facilitating mastery of Qirâ’at al-Kutub. The simplified method addresses challenges in traditional teaching, improving comprehension and application of grammar in classical texts. Using pre-test and post-test analysis, the study recorded a 20% increase in average scores (65% to 85%) and significant reductions in fi\u27il mudhâri\u27 errors (40% to 10%) and i’râb errors (50% to 15%). The method proved particularly effective for students struggling with conventional approaches, with 86% reporting improved confidence and comprehension. However, participants also highlighted the need for additional resources (82%) and support for complex texts (68%). This research offers a practical, inclusive solution to Arabic grammar instruction, fostering critical reading skills and deeper engagement with linguistic heritage. Future studies should explore digital tools, interactive platforms, and longitudinal impacts to refine and expand this approach in diverse educational contexts

A Stylistic and Semantic Analysis of the Word Qalb in the Quran: Insights from the Process of Knowledge Acquisition

This study investigates the meaning of the word qalb in the Qur’an through a stylistic and semantic lens, with particular attention to its role in the process of human knowledge acquisition. Employing a qualitative-descriptive methodology and textual analysis of selected Qur’anic verses, the research explores the stylistic expressions and semantic nuances of qalb within contexts related to cognitive, affective, and spiritual functions. The findings qalb operates as an integrative faculty, synthesizing intuition, inner experience, and rationality processing reality and meaning in a holistic manner. The stylistic analysis reveals that references to qalb frequently appear in rhetorically charged structures aimed at evoking moral and spiritual consciousness, particularly in warnings against hardness of heart, calls for introspection, and reminders of the consequences of ignoring divine guidance. These findings affirm qalb as an epistemological construct inherently intertwined with the process of apprehending divine truth, which cannot be reduced to or replaced by the notions of ʿaql (intellect) or shadr (chest)

Arabic Vocabulary Test Standars for Beginners According to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Vocabulary is a fundamental component in second language learning, especially for beginners. However, Arabic vocabulary assessment has not been fully standardized according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This study aims to identify vocabulary test criteria for Arabic at the beginner level aligned with CEFR. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. Primary data were collected from vocabulary test items in al-Ikhtibârât al-Lughawiyah by Ali Khuly, supported by secondary data on CEFR and language assessment. The results that A1 learners should master approximately 500–600 high-frequency words within themes such as family, time, numbers, daily routines, colors, animals, clothing, weather, and food. Effective test formats include fill-in-the-blank, picture-based multiple-choice, definition-based questions, synonym/antonym tasks, and word usage in context. An ideal proportion of 60% receptive and 40% productive tasks is recommended for beginner-level learners. It is concluded that Arabic vocabulary tests must prioritize validity, reliability, and practicality, while aligning with CEFR for international comparability

Evaluating the Student Facilitator and Explain (SFE) Model for Enhancing Critical Thinking in ‘Ilm al-Ma‘ânî at University Level

This study qualitatively evaluates the use of the Student Facilitator and Explain (SFE) model in enhancing students’ cognitive skills in the ‘Ilm al-Ma’ânî course at the university level. It further explores the correlation between the implementation of the SFE model and student learning outcomes, particularly regarding their comprehension of ‘Ilm al-Ma’ânî concepts, communication skills, and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), in contrast to traditional instructional approaches. The data were gathered through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of relevant academic documents to gain insight into how the SFE model functions and influences the development of students’ thinking abilities. The findings suggest that the model significantly improves students’ critical, analytical, and creative thinking by actively involving them as facilitators and explainers among their peers. In addition, the model promotes interactive learning and deeper cognitive engagement, thereby enhancing the overall quality of classroom instruction. The study concludes by recommending broader implementation of the SFE model in higher education, particularly in courses that traditionally rely on classical methods, to support the growth of students\u27 thinking and independent learning skills

    No full text
The Book Creator application has become one of the most relevant and modern learning media for teaching mahârah qirâ`ah. This study aims to develop a Book Creator-based learning medium and evaluate its effectiveness in nahârah qirâ`ah instruction. This research follows a Research and Development (RnD) approach using the ADDIE design model, developed by Reiser and Mollenda. Through the ADDIE stages—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation—this study explores students\u27 learning needs, the implementation of the product, and the evaluation of the Book Creator-based learning tool. The evaluation of mahârah qirâ`ah learning through this application is based on several assessment indicators, including word meaning acquisition, coherence between sentences, general comprehension with appropriate grammatical accuracy (qawâ’id), and understanding of the text’s message. A key indicator of effective learning is students’ ability to analyze reading texts and articulate their understanding in their own words. Moreover, Book Creator serves as a tool that enhances students’ enthusiasm for learning Arabic
