It has been shown that in the process of enrichment of different green grass (silage), using a consortium endemic probiotic LAB strains (which sintesized bacteriocins) and yeast strain of Kluveromyces marxsianus 83(which synthesizing mycocin) led to increasing amounts of essential amino acids (in particular lysine and methionine) and protein. It has been shown that in the content of spore microflora, mold, bacteria contaminating silage was decreased with respect to the control. The technological parameters of silage have been determined

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a serious health problem worldwide and known as the most common type of neurodegenerative diseases. Lycopodium (Lyc) and Withania Somnifera (WS) contains a bio active compound that proved to restore and improve cholinergic system. The present study aimed to examine the neuroprotective potential of Lyc and WS on Aluminum Chloride induced AD in rats. Fifty female Albino rats were equally and randomly divided to five groups, ten rats in each group. The rats of the first group received distilled water and served as control. The rats from second to fifth group received AlCl3 (175mg/kg), the second groups consider as AD group, in addition to AlCl3, third group received Lyc (50mg/kg), fourth received WS (200mg/kg), fifth received both treatments. After 30 days, the Acetylcholine (Ach), Acetylcholinesterase (AchE), Butyrylcholinesterase (BchE), Amyloid beta-42 (Ab-42), Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), and Na+/K+ATPase were evaluated. The result showed that AlCl3 significantly increased Ach, AchE, BchE, Ab-42 levels, and significantly decreased TH and Na+/K+ ATPase levels in rats model of AD. Administration of Lyc and WS to rats model of AD for 30 days showed an improvement in biochemical alteration caused by AlCl3. This study suggests that oral administration of Lyc and WS have a neuroprotective effect in AD animal model

Gastrointestinal (GI) tract infections caused by pathogenic microorganisms have a significant role in the global increase in mortality. This issue sparked an investigation into metabolites derived from numerous organisms that may have antimicrobial property against bacterial infections. The Kirby-Bauer Disc Diffusion method was used to test the extract of the American cockroach (Periplaneta americana) against enteric bacteria. The results indicate that the ethanolic extract of P. americana exhibited antimicrobial activity against the test pathogens, with the greatest inhibitory activity against Vibrio parahaemolyticus (p = 0.00013) and Candida albicans (p = 0.000911), when compared to the antibiotic controls Rifampicin, Trimethoprim, Ofloxacin, Penicillin, and antifungal drug Nystatin. However, there was no evidence of inhibitory activity against Enterococcus faecalis, Salmonella enteritidis, and Serratia marcescens. Thus, the current findings indicate that P. americana tissue extract may have antibacterial activity against medically important pathogens

This study made an attempt to examine the effect of teaching students through mobile assisted language learning (MALL) on their reading comprehension performance and belief. In the study, 79 second year English language linear students in Gondar College of Teachers’ Education were taken as participants of the study comprehensively since their size was manageable. Among those, 40 of them were control group and 39 were experimental group. For this effect, the study used quasi-experimental research design. Data were collected via tests (pre and posttests) and questionnaire. The data collected using the pre and posttest were analyzed quantitatively using the independent samples t-test. The questionnaire data were analyzed quantitatively via frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results of the study divulged that MALL brought difference between the experimental group (EG) and control group (CG). Particularly, with the help of the interventions provided the majority of the EG showed high level of progress in their reading comprehension performance and got affirmative belief towards the use of MALL in reading lessons. However, the CG remained constant. Based on the findings drawn, it was recommended that MALL should be practiced to maximize the students’ reading comprehension performance in EFL reading classrooms
