    Abstract: The Assessment of Erosion Using GIS ARC View. The social activities in watershed area, should be taken in to account in order to keep land conservation.  Land conservation at sub watershed of Coban Rondo upstream is very important because can result erosion and sedimentation in Selorejo Dam.  Assessment of erosion using Arc. View GIS is beneficial in calculating the level of erosion, because it can determine quantity and distribution the erosion level. The level of erosion at Sub watershed of Coban Rondo vary from permission level as large as the area of 6.457 ha has to critical level as large the area of 158,775 ha, and the very extrem level of was not found

    KOMBINASI ORTHOGONAL SPACE TIME BLOCK CODING DAN BLOCK CHANNEL CODING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KINERJA SISTEM ORTHOGONAL FREQUENCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING

    It is well known that space-time diversity using space-time coding (STC) is an effective technique to improve wireless communication performance. STC was designed for flat fading channel and consist of space-time trellis code (STTC) and space-time block code (STBC). STTC has provided diversity gain and coding gain in the cost of decoding complexity. On the other hand STBC only provide diversity gain but simple in decoding complexity. This article proposed serially concatenated Bose-Chauduri Hocquengheim (BCH) code with STBC from orthogonal design (STBC-OD) scheme is proposed to provide diversity gain and also coding gain in the system. Performance of the system was investigated when M-ary phase shift keying modula­tion was used for full-rate, half-rate, and ¾-rate of transmission employing appropriate number of transmit antennas. Simulation results showed that the proposed system has improved the SNR gain over the related uncoded schemes.Telah diketahui bahwa keanekaragaman ruang-waktu menggunakan space-time coding (STC) adalah sebuah teknik yang efektif untuk memperbaiki kinerja sistem komunikasi nirkabel. STC terdiri dari space-time trellis coding (STTC) dan space-time block coding (STBC). STTC memberikan diversity gain dan coding gain, tetapi pendekodean kompleks. STBC mempunyai pendekodean sederhana, tetapi hanya memberikan diversity gain dan tidak memberikan coding gain. Artikel ini mengajukan skema gabungan antara kode Bose-Chauduri Hocquengheim (BCH) dan STBC dari orthogonal design (OD) untuk menyediakan diversity gain dan coding gain pada sistem. Kinerja sistem dievaluasi pada laju transmisi penuh, setengah, dan tiga perempat dengan menggunakan modulasi M-ary phase shift keying.     Abstract: The influence of graphite addition as reinforcement composite of bronze on wear resistance. It is important to increase the properties of wear resistance of metal conducted by forming metal matrix composite with graphite particle reinforcement. This purpose of this research is to identify the wear resistant and microstructure of bronze matrix composite reinforced by graphite. The research used laboratory experiments. The material of experiment is acquired from bronze/graphite composite obtained from melting copper which has been added with tin (Sn) of 10% and a graphite particles in 0%, 3%, 6% and 9% of weight. Wear resistance test is conducted by using pin-on-disc method. The results show that increasing graphite particles in bronze gives hardness degradation of the composite. The result of wear resistant test shows that the greater of free graphite content in bronze the better wear resistant. Wear lowest rate is obtained on composite of 9% graphite-reinforced bronze with 0.00074 mg/meter mean of wear rate, while 0%, 3%, 6% graphite-reinforced bronze have 0.00776 mg/meter, 0.00592 mg/meter, and 0.00330 mg/meter wear rate respectively

    PEMETAAN POTENSI KOTA MALANG SEBAGAI PEMASOK MINYAK GORENG BEKAS UNTUK PRODUKSI BIODIESEL

    Malang is one of the alleged potential as an used frying oil producer . The aim of research is to determine the type of company which producing used frying oil and the production capacity of each company. The experiment was conducted with the survey to Disperindag office, restaurants, and food industries recommended by Disperindag. The instrument used interview techniques. Results showed that the most potential type of company produces waste cooking oil is a franchise restaurant with fried chicken as their main product (Kentucky and Mc Donald) with the average of remaining used frying oil is 30 liters/day, then crisp fruit industry (5.5 kg/day for average), hotel and restaurant kitchens fried chicken (on average of 4 liters/day), non-chicken basic restaurant (on average of 3.5 liters/day), and tempe chips industry (2.5 liters/day). Every day Malang City produces remaining used frying oil about 820 liters/day which is enough potential for the bio-diesel production.Malang merupakan salah satu kota yang diduga potensial sebagai penghasil minyak goreng bekas (jelantah). Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui jenis perusahaan  pemasok minyak goreng bekas dan kapasitas produksi masing-masing perusahaan. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan survey ke Desperindag, restoran, dan industri pangan yang direkomendasi Disperindag. Instrumen yang digunakan teknik wawan­cara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis perusahaan paling potensial menghasilkan jelantah adalah restoran waralaba dengan produk utama ayam goreng (Kentucky dan Mc Donald) dengan rerata sisa jelantah 30 liter/hari, selanjutnya industri keripik buah (rerata 5,5 kg /hari), berikutnya dapur hotel dan restoran ayam goreng (rerata 4 liter/hari), restoran basic nonayam (rerata 3,5 liter/hari), dan terakhir industri keripik tempe  (2,5 liter/ hari). Setiap hari Kota Malang menghasilkan kira-kira 820 liter/hari, jumlah tersebut cukup potensial untuk produksi biodiesel

    The diversification of graduate’s competencies of vocational education and training to enhancing her/his competitiveness. The weakness absorbtion of graduate’s employment, the lack relevancies of the graduate’s competencies by industrial need, and the outnumber of graduate’s job availabilities were the problems of vocational education and training (VET) especially in the Building Technology Education Program. In order to solve these problems, VET’s institutional must carry out: (1) di­versification of graduate’s competencies, (2) enhancing inovations teaching learning process with Total Quality Management (TQM) Based Learning, (3) enhancing coope­ration with industries for learning process, (4) improving curriculum, and      (5) work’s quality culturalism. The implications for educational practice for the head of department are: (1) encourage teachers to innovate TQM-based learning, (2) have to do the diversification of graduates through improved curricula fit the needs of industry, and (3) expanding and strengthening cooperation with business/industry and the Vocational School for internship programs or other innovative programs.Lemahnya daya serap lulusan, kurang relevannya kompetensi lulusan dengan kebutuhan industri, dan terbatasnya lapangan pekerjaan merupakah persoalan yang dihadapi lembaga pendidikan vokasi khususnya di bidang pendidikan teknik bangunan.  Untuk memecahkan persoalan tersebut diperlukan langkah-langkah (1) diversifikasi kompetensi lulusan, (2) inovasi penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis Total Quality Management (TQM), (3) penguatan kerjasama  pembelajaran dengan dunia industri,  (4) restrukturisasi kurikulum, dan (5) rekulturisasi dari budaya tradisonal ke budaya mutu. Implikasinya bagi praktik pendidikan adalah ketua jurusan (1) mendorong dosen melakukan inovasi pembelajaran berbasis TQM; (2) melakukan diversivikasi kompe­tensi lulusan melalui perbaikan kurikulum sesuai kebutuhan industri; dan (3) mem­perluas dan memperkuat jaringan kerjasama dengan dunia usaha/industri dan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan  untuk program magang atau progam inovatif lainnya

    KONTRIBUSI PEMAHAMAN DAN SIKAP GURU TENTANG K3 TERHADAP PELAKSANAAN K3 DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PRAKTIK DI BENGKEL MEKANIK OTOMOTIF SE-KOTA MALANG

    Teachers play an important role in the creation of learning conditions in the workshop and safety. This study is to determine: (1) understanding the contri­bution of teachers towards the implementation of K3 on learning practices, (2) the contribution of teachers' attitudes regarding the implementation of the K3 on learning practices, and (3) understanding and attitudes of the teachers contribute jointly towards the implementation of K3. This research is descriptive correlational. Data were collected by non-test and test and analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics (multiple regression) from SPSS for Windows. The analysis shows that teachers understanding and together contributed 77% to changes in the execution of K3. Contribution of that comes from understanding the variable effective contribution amounting to 51.35% of teachers and teacher attitudes about K3 variables contribute effectively amounted to 25.87%.Guru memegang peran penting dalam penciptaan kondisi  pembelajaran di bengkel dan aspek keselamatan kerja. Studi ini untuk mengetahui: (1) kontribusi pe­mahaman guru terhadap pelaksanaan K3 pada pembelajaran praktik, (2) kontribusi sikap guru tentang K3 terhadap pelaksanaan K3 pada pembelajaran praktik, dan      (3) kontribusi pemahaman dan sikap guru secara bersama-sama terhadap pelaksanaan K3. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan tes dan nontes serta dianalisis dengan regresi ganda. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa pemahaman guru dan sikap guru secara bersama memberi kontribusi sebesar 77% terhadap perubahan pelaksanaan K3. Kontribusi sebesar itu berasal dari sumbangan efektif variabel pemahaman guru sebesar 51,35% dan variabel sikap guru tentang K3 memberikan kontribusi efektif sebesar 25,87%

    Abstract: Hydrodynamics characteristic for the mixing of gas-solid-liquid in membrane bioreactor submerged (MBRs) and its influence on mass transfer was studied computationally at various solid concentration, incoming gas rate, and the baffle distance. Computational method was conducted by using software GAMBIT 2.1.6. for the making of the grid which represents the calculation domain and conduct the simulation using CFD software FLUENT commercial code 6.2.16. Multiphase flow in reactor was simulated with mixture model, while to model the turbulence characteristic of the flow standard k-ε model was used. The geometrical system investigate is bioreactor in the form of box with flat bottom, 2 baffles, submerged membrane and air passage through the reactor bottom. The membrane type used is hollow fiber, the liquid used is water, and the solid is activated sludge, and air acts as gas phase. The result indicates that closer the baffle to the membrane, the liquid dispersion process goes faster, so that fluid in tank can be mixed perfectly and it can increase the gas-liquid mass transfer rate and the flux at MBRs. The increase of the solid concentration does not significantly affect the change of gas-liquid mass transfer rate and flux through the membrane, but the increase of air flow rate can accelerate the gas-liquid mass transfer and the flux. The position of baffle 9 cm from tank wall is the best position among the others because the amount of air flow is balanced with the circulating fluid flow. Consider from the solid distribution, double inlet MBRs is better compared to that of single inlet. Flux obtained does not show significant difference. From the both approach of the membrane model, membrane model as porous media give the simulation results closer to the experimental data

    The appropriateness of infrastructure facilities, teacher competence, mana­ge­ment, and practicum process in department automotive engineeringof vocational high school (VHS) reviewed by Regulation Standards of The Republic of Indonesia (RI) Number 19 Year 2005. The purpose of this study is to reveal the appropriateness of infrastructure, teacher competence, management, and practicum process in terms of RI Regulation Standard at VHS. This research uses descriptive quantitative study design, with teachers and laboratory staff of Depart­ment Auto­motive Engineering at Bontang as the subject. The observation sheet, inter­views, and documentation guide­lines was used as research instru­ment. The results of this study indicate that the appropriateness of (1) infrastructure facilities for state VHS is 77.50%, whereas for private VHS is 67.69%; (2) teacher competence state VHS is 82.73%, whereas for private VHS is 72.22%; (3)  school management for state VHS is 78.77%, whereas for private VHS is 69.23%; and (4) prac­ticum process for state VHS is 80.89%, whereas for private company is 82.91%.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkap kesesuaian sarana prasarana, kom­pe­tensi guru, manajemen, dan proses praktikum ditinjau dari standar Peraturan Peme­rintah RI di SMK. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan pene­litian deskriptif kuanti­tatif, dengan subjek penelitian guru dan laboran Prodi Teknik Otomotif Kota Bontang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar obser­vasi, pedoman wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesesuaian sarana (1) pra­sarana pada SMK Negeri mencapai 77,50%, SMK Swasta 67,69%; (2) kesesuaian kompetensi guru SMK Negeri mencapai 82,73%, SMK Swasta 72,22%; (3) kesesuaian manajemen SMK Negeri mencapai 78,77%, SMK Swasta 69,23%; dan (4) kesesuaian proses praktikum SMK Negeri mencapai 80,89%, dan  SMK Swasta 82,91%

    The purpose of this research was to develop the soft skill education model at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, State University of Malang included the curriculum and its implementation on the instructional activities. The research found that: (1) the soft skill curriculum needed by the Mechanical Engi­neering Education Study Program consists of fundamental skill, personal skill, and social skill; and (2) for implementing the soft skill curriculum entire the instructional activities strive for each lecture to take one or more soft skills statement for development, using the various strategies/methods of teaching refer to student-centered, giving tasks, and introducing the HES (Health and Environment Safety) particularly in the practicum activities.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan model pendidikan soft skill pada Program Studi Teknik Mesin Universitas Negeri Malang termasuk kuriku­lum dan implementasinya dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Temuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) kurikulum soft skill yang diperlukan oleh Program Studi Teknik Mesin terdiri dari keterampilan dasar, keterampilan pribadi, dan keterampilan sosial, dan (2) menerap­kan kurikulum soft skill dalam pembelajaran pada masing-masing dasar, mengambil satu atau lebih soft skill untuk dikembangkan, menggunakan berbagai strategi/metode pengajaran berpusat pada mahasiswa, memberikan tugas, dan memperkenalkan K3 (Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja), terutama dalam kegiatan praktikum

    Abstrak: This research is aimed to determine the exact time needed by peanut seed for germinating its sprout and improving its flour nutrient values. The raw material used is Vigna unguiculata (L) Walp KT-6 small variant. The germination process is conducted in room temperature with observation interval period between 12 and 48 hours. Afterwards, it is continued by flouring process. The observation in this research covers: the value of protein invitro disgestion, sugar reduction, and water content. The gathered data are analyzed by using F test. The value of protein disgestion is ranged from 60.44% to 73.55%. The observation result shows that the highest disgestion value of its sprout is 73.55% and took place at 36 hours of submerging the sprout. The average of sugar reduction rate is ranged from 1.80% to 7.13% (Ka = 10%), while the highest reduction is 9.63% in 36 hours of submerging the sprout
