    The study was conducted to assess the influence of durian \u27s position toward transmission properties of ultrasonic wave for determination of the fruit ripeness using non-destructiive technique. Three ripe and unripe durian were used to assess transmittance wave that was passed the durian. The measurement was conducted at 3 peak and valley positions and it was repeated 20 times. The result showed that position durian \u27s inJluenccad thetransmissions of ultrasonic wave. Mo mzJ a (attenuation) values can be used as indicator for durian ripeness. Ripe durian tends to have highera value than unripe durian

    The concept of equilibrium moisture content or EMC is important in study of storage. The EMC of cereal grain is defined as the moisture content\u27 of the material after it has been exposed to a particular environment for an infinitely longperiod of time. The EMC is dependent upon the humidity and temperature conditions of the environment.The more important limitation in process design for agricultural products is the lack of exprimental data can be found. The variety of products and the differences in measurement method make limitation on the valueof the available data, especially for Indonesian\u27s products. The data are needed to get information about moisture content change when product was processed like storage or drying.The objective of this research is to determine the EMC equation models of local corn with the static method. The result indicates that Chung-Pfost and polynomial models are better reprentative to predict the EMC than Henderson\u27s

    Drying Simulation of Rough-Rice in a Horizontal-Semi Cylindrical Plenum (Drying-Bed)

    Simulation technique was used to determine the drying charaden\u27stic of roughrice in a horizontal-semi cylindrical plenum (drying-bed). The mathematical model simulation used in study was a set of partial d&rential equation. In order to ve*the validity of the simulation technique, the experimental tests were tun to provide data to he compared with the simulation results. The experimentation was conducted using rough-rice samples at two levels of drying temperatures, 50% and45%. The results indicate that the mathematical model predicts the charactetkiics of the actual rough-rice dtying very closely that the differences are staWicaUy no significant, although there are little bit (=95%) differem between the simulatitmtechnique and the test run results. These are true not only for the drying air temperature data but also for the moisture content data as well

    Reengineering of Position and Role of Institution and Policy on Land Rehabilitation

    The purpose of land rehabilitation (LR) is to improve of landuse capability. Actually, LR needed participation of many institutions and policies. The objective of this research is to access the role, position, and function of each institution and each policy related to LR. The research methodology is intrepretation Structural Modelling (ISM). The result showed there are 26 institutions and 12 policies related to LR. Department of Forsetry, Environment Non-Government Organization (NGO), and District Department of Forestry have high score driver power and dependensy to LR programs

Sugarcane water requirement was calculated by radiation method and USDA (1969) method was used to determinate effective rainfall. Average of monthly actual evapotranspiration (ETa) was calculated by the available soil water index. The total of water requirement of sugarcane (1-12 month) was around 37.38 mmlmonth to 143.22 mmlmonth. The highest water requirement was found at age of 4 to 9 month, while the lowest was in the ripening period. Accordingly drip irrigation should be operated at maximum water use of about 3.96 mm/day, or by sprinkle irrigation not less than 118.70 mm/mounth.

    Effectivitas of Pitcher Fertigation System on Bushes Pepper Crops

    The successful application of pither irrigation system has motivated to investigate the pitcher as a fertigation system. The experiment was conducted at Leuwikopo Experiment Station, Agricultural Engineering Departement, Bogor Agricultural University. The main objective of this study is to study the effectiveness of pitcher fertigation system on bushes pepper crops. The result shows that the pitcher wall is capable to release NPK solution. Diffusion rate of fertilizer solution was measured as affected by the concentration inside and outside of the pitcher. The soil moisture distribution in the soil is sufficient to transport the solution available for crops development. Concentration of Phosphate (P) and Potassium (K) decrease laterally and the Nitrogen (N) tends to accumulate homogeneosly in moist part around the pitcher
