    MANAJEMEN KRISIS PEMERINTAH KABUPATEN KULON PROGO

    The construction of new airport in Temon Kulon Progo get resistance from community. The community created a group called “Wahana Tri Tunggal” to do a massive rejection. The new airport is necessary to increase the number of tourists to Yogyakarta in every year. The development process is targeted to be completed in 2019. This research wants to perceive crisis management of government to resolve this issue. This research is qualitative research with case study method. To collect data, we did observations in Temon Kulon Progo and interviews with the Kulon Progo’s Government, PT Angkasa Pura 1, Bapeda DIY, and residents. The result points to the success of the strategic crisis management by the government. Currently, the majority of them has accepted government decision to relocate their settlement. This research gives insight into management strategies of the crisis by the government regarding land acquisition to build the new airport in Kulon Progo

    Infografis Penguatan Reputasi Kehumasan Pemerintah melalui Narasi Tunggal Sosialisasi Paket Kebijakan Ekonomi

    This study examines  the role and elements of infographics for strengthening reputation of the government public relations conducted by the Special Task Force of the Government Public Relations on a single narrative related to the socialization of economic policy packages. This study uses case study method based on the perspective of the theory of reputation. The result shows that info graphics are able to make government’s message can be communicated attractively and support a reputation. It concludes (1) info graphics successfully synergize delivery of 13 single narratives about economic policy package through some form of design published in social media; (2) elements of info graphics are strengthened by the used of hashtag and logo “Indonesia Good” in the design of the content of policy packages supported by the four sides of reputation (credibility, trustworthiness, reliability, and responsibility), through the realization of a number of components to build a reputation namely core values, values, identity, projection and image. This article contributes to enrich the application model of reputation theory that generally applied to Corporate Public Relations rather than Government Rublic Relations communication

    BAHASA INDONESIA LEARNING COMMUNICATION BY USING COOPERATIVE MODEL APPROACH

    Communication in education and learning gives a great contribution in the success and effectivity learning achievement which is expected. The same as a teachers when they making communication in the class. There are a lot of model and innovation in learning communication, for example Cooperative Learning (CL), Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Inquiry, and Problem Solving. This learning model concern that every learning process of active students create their own knowledge (student centered). By using positivisme percepective that tends to avoid talking about reality which is can not be observed (Rohim, 225:2009). The approach which is used in this research is using quantitative approach because it is needed to measure the impact of indepent variable to dependent variable, in other words to measure the cause and effect (causal), (Sugiyono, 2010:190). This research shows that learning strategy and cooperative communication significantly give a big impact to students’ achievement, this data is supported with the data that shows students’ learning achievement in Bahasa Indonesia is better than students’ learning achievement which is using convensional group learning strategy

    DINAMIKA KONSENTRASI PASAR INDUSTRI PERTELEVISIAN NASIONAL

    The weakening macro condition of Indonesia’s economy in the last five years has influenced the economic performance of the television media industry. Since that time, media advertising expenditure as the largest revenue source for the television industry has been declining. The purpose of this research is to know how each group of broadcast media corporations in this country are competing and trying to control the market of the media industry. Methods used in this research was adopting both the quantitative analysis which leans back upon the organization the field of industrial (in theory). Relying on the Structure-Conduct-Performance analysis model, the result of this research reveals that although the economic slowdown impacts the economic performance of the corporate group of television, the roles of three groups of television media corporations: Global Mediacom, Elang Mahkota Teknologi, and Visi Media Asia remain dominant. The market audience and television ads are concentrated in these three groups and build an increasingly uncompetitive structure for other industry players. This research contributes to give insight on the current economic situation of national television industry

    Nilai Keterbukaan Ideologi Partai Islam dalam Perspektif Komunikasi Politik

    The Prosperous and Justice Party or Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) is one of the parties different from a political party most, and more than  that it can be seen that PKS is coming from the Muslim community in Indonesia. In the current development of Indonesian political parties, there is an impression that ideology of Indonesian political partis are moving to the middle. PKS has choosen to be an open political party or it can understood PKS is now determined to be one of the pluralistic parties who adopt pluralism and the diversity. This research wants to examine the value behind an opened ideology by Regional Council (DPW) of PKS in West Java in political communication perspective. Qualitative approach is used with ethnographic sudy. Data are collected by observations, interviews and documentary study on the internal and external informants of PKS. The result shows that opened ideology of DPW PKS of West Java are based on three values: ideological value, sociological value, and political value

    Makna Lingkungan Hidup di Masa Sriwijaya: Analisis Isi pada Prasasti Talang Tuwo

    The purpose of this study is to understand the interpretation of the environmental aspects during the Sriwijaya kingdom  in  the  7th  century.  The interpretation  is  based  on  text  written  on  the  script  of  the Prasasti  Talang  Tuwo  (Talang  Tuwo  inscription),  the  one  and  only  inscription  talking  about  the environmental  arrangement.  This  study  deploys  a  discourse  analysis  by  Mangineau which  discusses  the discourse  from  three  aspects:  content,  process,  and  emergence.  Data are analyzed by qualitative  method using  environmental  communication  perspective.  This  study  indicates  that (a)  the  social  situation  in Sriwijaya’s  era  had  determined  the  environmental  interpretation;  (b) the  process  occurred  shows  social context playing significant role, and (c) it shows how this process was taking place in certain stages

    Studies on the effect of persuasion message in a pro­environmental behavior context have been focused on the utilization of argumentative massage type to ensure changes in individual’s behavior. The purpose of this research is to testing whether persuasion narration on type message, based on the risk in mediation by drifting, can reduce the use of plastic bag. This research method used an experimental method by giving manipulation in reading the material form and fill three instruments for 167 respondents. The result suggests that health ­ risk framing messages were more likely increase pro­environmental behaviors in use reduction of plastic bags compares to environmental­risk framing messages. This effect appears due to the historical transportation process. This research contributes to literacy of the community of reducing the use of a plastic bag to improve environmentally friendly behavior

    Komodifikasi Bonek dalam Jejaring Konglomerasi Jawa Pos

    Persebaya is one of the biggest and most successful football clubs in Indonesian football history. This football club has very loyal fans who called Bonek. This study aims to find the implications of the ownership of Persebaya by Jawa Pos by analyzing the commodification of Jawa Pos against Bonek, the Persebaya fans. This study deploys political economy of media theory, especially commodification theory. Using qualitative method, this research focuses on case studies of researc h subjects namely Jawa Pos and Bonek. The result shows the commodification relation between Jawa Pos and Bonek Persebaya. At the beginning, the growing relationship between Jawa Pos and Persebaya was the relationship between the media and the football club, but the relationship changed when Jawa Pos took over the shares of Persebaya in 2017. By taking over the shares of Persebaya, Jawa Pos becomes the legal owner of Persebaya. Since becoming an owner, Jawa Pos is more than just covering Persebaya. Jawa Pos practices commodification in the newsroom in the form of the production of various products about Persebaya and Bonek—Persebaya fans

    This study aims to determine the meaning of news readers in online media related to 4/11 demonstration news in Kompas.com. The central premise of this research is about freedom of expression and religious tolerance in Indonesia. This study uses four informants from students and reception analysis as the method with Carolyn Michelle as the model of analysis. Research on news readers in online media is so essential in media audience review in the new media era, where audiences have high media habit and also high access to information. Also, there is a change in the access pattern of news that is influenced by the media habit made by the reader. The issue raised in this study is interesting because it involves political and religious context. The result shows that from the 4/11 demonstration news, freedom of opinion and in Indonesia experienced a shift in spiritual meaning and tolerance to be polemic because religion should be unifying amidst a plural Indonesian society is used to spark conflict. This study also shows that personal experience, knowledge and media habits followed by good media literacy affect the meaning

    Spasialisasi dan Praktik Monopoli Emtek Group

    This study aims to determine the form of spatialization and monopolistic practices carried out by Emtek Group. This research uses descriptive qualitative in the critical analysis perspective of the Political Economy of Communication Theory by Vincent Mosco. The political economy of communication theory  is used to describe the spatialization in the form of horizontal integration and vertical integration to strengthen the organization and to dominate market. This research uses documentation data collection techniques by observing and analyzing the business units of the Emtek Group and the historical record establishment of Emtek Group including the shift of shareholders from Emtek Group and its subsidiaries. The result shows that the spatialization carried out by Emtek Group has caused monopoly, monopsony and conglomeration practices that can threaten the principle of fair business competition. In addition, the practice of conglomeration also provides an imbalance effect on television content, between programs containing entertainment with information programs. Seeing these conditions, society must participate in terms of surveillance by acting as a watchdog, so that media corporations can be controlled more objectively. The government should provide detail information about the proportion between information and entertainment in television program content, and should restrict media cross-ownership
