STUDI BUDAYA NONMATERIAL WARGA JATON
Jaton village is situated in the heart of where the majority of the population is Christian. For hundreds of years the residents of Jaton Village lived side by side in harmony with the majority of Minahasa tribes who had different religions. A long historical factor makes Jaton Village unique because residents of Jaton Village are direct descendants of Kyai Modjo, a religious teacher from Prince Diponogoro, who was banished by Dutch colonialists along with 63 of his followers to the Tondano area in 1828. Amid the increasing number of violence committed by one religious group in another religion, this research is aim to see a form of nonmaterial culture in Jaton society. This research will answer the question of what form of non-material cultures includes values, norms and regulations for the people of Jaton Village, and how are the values, norms and beliefs passed on to the next generation. The method used is qualitative with case study approach through observation and in-depth interview. The results showed that the Jaton community still holds an ancestral culture originating from Java. In addition, the norms created are mixed up, so there is no norm that limits behavior or action. However, the most obvious thing to hold firmly is the norm of Islamic teachings which is their belief
MEDIA SIBER, APARAT, DAN PEMBERITAAN KEBERAGAMAN
The up and down of relations between the government and the media have been the topic of various studies for decades. Historically, relations between the two parties were characterized by unequal power relations. Reform and development of digital communication technology gives hope for press freedom in producing and distributing information to the public free from government interference. This study aims to describe the relationship between cyber media and key informants, especially government officials in covering diversity issues. This research is based on research conducted with a normative theory perspective, applying a case study method for 2 (two) years, beginning with content analysis of 200 (two hundred) articles on diversity in cyber media, followed by discussions with 30 (thirty) media journalists cyber, 15 journalists in Jakarta, and 15 in Medan. In the second year, an electronic survey was conducted for cyber media journalists. The results of the study show that in reporting on the issue of diversity, cyber media actually makes government officials primary sources. This shows that the dynamics of cyber media relations and current government apparatus in terms of reporting on diversity issues are characterized by the closeness that was previously framed in power relations, currently in an urgent relationship of interest, accuracy, and risk management. Pengaruh Terpaan Media Terhadap Partisipasi Politik Dalam Pilkada Dki Jakarta 2017
The political participation of the people is one of the indicators of democracy in every country. More and more citizens are involved the better, as it shows citizens following and understanding the political problems. This study uses the Stimulus-Response (S-R) theory. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the hypothesis that there is a positive and significant influence between media exposure to the level of political participation among the people of South Jakarta. This research used quantitative methods, with data collection techniques spreading questionnaires to the people of South Jakarta as many as 100 respondents from a population of 1,593,700 based on KPU data in 2016. The data analysis technique used is a regression. The results of this study showed that the stimulus-response theory tested through the hypothesis of media exposure provides a contribution (R Square: 27.6%) to increase the level of political participation. The results also support that online media, social media, and chatting applications were more often used as a source of political information compared to printed newspaper, radio, and magazines. Another finding of the research is that the level of online and strategic participation is still very low. Strategic participation can be improved when Internet users are encouraged to have the ability to operate a wide range of applications and have political knowledge. The research has also contributed to the development of online participation concept through instrumental, informative, and strategic dimensions
PEKERJA PEREMPUAN DI TAMBANG: BENTUK NEGOSIASI KESETARAAN GENDER DALAM DUNIA KERJA MASKULIN
Mine--which is always described as a hard and risky workplace--cannot be separated from gender issues. On the other hand, currently many women are able to work in the mine, and even they have very good work performance. This research is intended to explore how they adapt and interpret their work, and how they undergo a dual role as workers and housewives. This research was conducted using qualitative approach with phenomenological research method, in-depth interviews as a form of dialectical interaction. Respondents are woman coal mining operators at PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), an international scale coal mine located in East Kalimantan. The informants are women who operate heavy equipment in the mine. The result shows that women arevable to adapt to the workplace where they were involved in, without seeing physical differences between men and women. They are able to play a dual role as workers and housewives. It can be concluded that in the mine women are able to adapt the work situation and condition without boundary that mine is the masculine workplace. It corrects various opinions, that women are people who are marginalized by the presence of mines
COMMUNICATING CSR ON TOURISM INDUSTRY; A PRELIMINARY CASE STUDY OF BALI
As one of the world’s and Indonesia’s most important tourist destination, Bali tourism sector has significantly contributed to both Indonesia’s and Bali’s economy. This study explores how tourism companies communicate CSR including goals, audiences, contents, channels, and strategy. Data are gathered through a single case study approach and thirteen semi-structured interviews to the representatives of hotels, restaurants, tour and travels, and tourism companies in Bali. Data are analyzed by using QDA Miner software. The result shows that relationships, reputation, and branding are the most common goals of communicating CSR. The companies communicated mostly to internal stakeholders; employees and owner, to customers, and the local community. However, there was no specific policy on contents. The companies use reports, meeting, announcement board, e-mail, and in-house communication system to communicate with internal stakeholders; social media, employee, and CSR involvement to communicate with customers; and newspaper, social media, TV, meeting, and employee to communicate to society. EKUITAS MEREK LOKAL JOGJA DI MATA GENERASI MILLENIALS
Fashion product is one of the highest consumption nowadays. This research focuses on brand equity of local fashion brand in Jogja (i.e., Dagadu, Dowa, and Amazara). The respondents are millennial ranging from 19-24 years old and live in Yogyakarta. This research uses descriptive quantitative method with 5% margin of error. Pre-survey was held before the initial survey; with total 635 respondents who are living in Jogja for minimum one year. The brand equity is measured based on brand awareness, brand quality, brand association, and brand loyalty. From those factors, Amazara has the highest brand equity. Social media is one of the most important factors to boost its success for building brand equity
Lahirnya Identitas Baru: Pergeseran Budaya melalui Interaksi pada Karyawan Difabel Samakta Guest House
Cultural change and the emergence of identity in the individual can occur through interaction. Culture in an organization can form a new identity in individuals. The aim of this research is to know about the cultural shift experienced by the diffable employees who are deaf at Samakta Guest House in forming a new identity within them. The literature review used in this research includes intercultural communication, organizational culture, self-concept, and identity. This research is using a qualitative descriptive analysis. In collecting data, the researcher used an in-depth interview with four informants, ND, DD, JF, and PL. The result shows that deaf employees who work at Samakta Guest House have a special culture and identity or characteristic in themselves. Organizational culture and the process of interaction make the deaf employees become more developed and find new figures in themselves. Diffable employees adapt to new cultures. In forming this new identity, the interaction process that plays an important role in them is the interaction with the owners of Samakta Guest House and other diffable employees who work there. The substance of this research recommends that the organization, especially for the owner and manager of Samakta Guest House should develop a diffable-concerned organization
Indonesian Adolescents' Online Opportunities and Risks
This research aims to 1) explore the benefits of online (benefits obtained when on the internet) and online risks (risks experienced when on the internet) in adolescents in Jakarta; 2) Test differences in online benefits and online risk based on differences in gender, education level, and school affiliation. This study used a survey method with a multilevel random sampling technique performed on adolescents living in Jakarta aged 12-18 (N = 756). The data analysis technique for this study is descriptive analysis and T-test analysis. The results of the research show that teenagers in Jakarta regularly use the internet every day with relatively high duration. More than 60% of teens benefit online in the medium to the high category, with six types of benefits online: learning, creative participation, social participation, social relations, entertainment, commercial benefits, and personal benefits. Most teens experience online risk in the low category, with three types of risks: content risk, contact risk, and behavioral risk. Other findings, namely: (1) there are significant differences in online risk-based on sex and adolescent education level; (2) significant differences in online benefits are based solely on adolescent education levels. There are no significant differences in online and online risk benefits based on school affiliation (non-religious schools and religion-based schools). This research contributes to the importance of distinguishing online benefits and online risks from adolescent education levels

The importance of implementing the corporate communication model at Sari Ater Hotel & Resort in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0 is faced with the use of new media and the effects of these changes on the company. The purpose of this study was to find out and find the corporate communication model of Sari Ater Hotel & Resort. The study used descriptive qualitative method, where data was obtained through in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews) and observations of informants (Director of Sales, Marketing Manager, and Public Relations Manager). The results of this study indicate that the social media communication model for corporate Sari Ater Hotels & Resort is relevant because in reality digital media has an influence on the implementation of Public Relations activities R Sari Ater Hotel & Resort has even been used as a medium to interact with the public, both internal and external public because through the internet can be known various information and issues that are developing or changes that occur so that a PR practitioner Sari Ater Hotel & Resort can access all information required according to the needs of the organization. Kearifan Lokal dalam Implementasi Cause Related Marketing untuk Keberlanjutan Bisnis
ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is going to be a great opportunity and yet challenges for any business practices. The market integration provides possibilities to develop the business; however, the intercultural aspect would be another challenge. This study is analyzing the global marketing strategy and implementation for any corporation in taking advantage of an opportunity and overcome the obstacles. Theories on marketing and corporate communications are used as the research fundamentals. The research uses a qualitative research method according to find the answers to the case. Secondary data, depth interviews, and literature study become the source of triangular data analysis which are divided into three steps of coding. The research shows that strategy and implementation which combines marketing communication and CSR, especially Cause Related Marketing, becomes one of the appropriate global marketing strategy and execution. Proper implementation in term of its capability to increase the brand engagement and to overcome the intercultural obstacle is the primary challenge in global marketing. Based on the result, as a practical recommendation, the development of strategy and implementation in cause-related marketing would be resourceful if the business is also emphasizing and involving the local wisdom
