    No full text
Nowadays the quality of food is considered a regulatory tool operating as a particular concept of safety, the food safety. Law uses patterns as the typical tools of regulatory systems that match the “quality” with production or territorial originstandards, even if these ones are the outcomes of the functioning of power and lobbying dynamics, typically operating inside the European institutions, as evidenced by the decision-making relating to the recognition of some certifications (PDO, PGI, ecc.). The origin of the outline of “perfect” food, that is a standard which can act to include social classes, as it shows for example the relevance of nutrition in educational processes, or, vice versa, to exclude someone, due to the price dynamics, dates back to Victorian England, when the regulatory framework of food quality and safety, identified as suitable for resolving many issues related to food insecurity and the need to protect consumers, were mostly inherited from the previous century, is placed against the background of important socio-political issues. Starting from the vagueness of the relationship between administrative sanctions and private control apparatus into the regulative contemporary framework, and assuming this background, the essay aims to investigate the “political” use of food as a normative system which, however, calls into question both the social stratification system, typical of Victorian society, as shown by the case of the Nowadays the quality of food is considered a regulatory tool operating as a particular concept of safety, i.e. food safety. APPRENDERE E INSEGNARE LA LINGUA DEI SEGNI ITALIANA (LIS) COME L2-M2 ALL’UNIVERSITÀ: OSSERVAZIONE E ANALISI DI UN PANORAMA ETEROGENEO

    No full text
Learning and teaching italian sign language (LIS) AS L2-M2 at university: observation and analysis of a heterogeneous panorama Italian Sign Language (LIS) has been officially recognized in Italy with the so called “Decreto Sostegni”, dated May 19th, 2021 (Art. 34 ter: Misure per il riconoscimento della Lingua dei Segni Italiana e l\u27inclusione delle persone con disabilità uditiva). However, LIS was identified as a subject of academic study and teaching twenty-six years ago. This work aims to show an overview of Italian Sign Language learning and teaching in the Italian university context starting from the circumstances that favored the birth of the first LIS courses in some Italian universities, among whom Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne per Interpreti e Traduttori (SSLMIT) in Trieste and Università di Teramo. This will allow us to focus on the difficulties experienced by hearing adult students, “L2-M2 learners”, in acquiring LIS as a second language with a different communication modality from their vocal L1. We will therefore examine the main public and private universities that have offered LIS teaching courses within their teaching programs in recent decades. This way we can establish a comparison between different teaching methods which will reveal the heterogeneous reality of the study of LIS in Italy

Clashing and Hybridizing Chronotopes in Zero K: Between Speculative Transcendence and Historical Immanence

    No full text
According to Bakhtin, chronotope is a device involved in structuring the plot, as an organizational center around which the sense of the text is condensed through a intersection between topology and chronology. Furthermore, spatiotemporality can also determine the genre of the literary work itself. This is particularly evident in Zero K (2016) by Don DeLillo, a novel divided into two distinct sections set in two antinomic chrotonopes, one of transcendence and one of immanence. Consequently, the text is similarly divided into two different narrative genres, one related to the utopian and catastrophic novel and the other to the urban and political novel. The protagonist, Jeffrey Lockhart, is a sort of chronotopic Wandersmann who walks through both textual sections mixing the two worlds represented and the relative space-times and genres. This paper aims to investigate the chronotopic architecture of Zero K through a close reading capable of highlighting the hybridization between different spaces and times and thus between different literary genres
