Angiolina and Apollonia: Recurrences in Two Short Stories by Silvana Grasso
No full textThe aim of this article is to show the narrative variations of two short stories by Silvana Grasso, “Manitta” (Pazza è la luna, 2007) and “Il cuore a destra” (2014), in the context of that “dimensione ‘silvanocentrica’ [fatta] più di autocannibalismo che di autocitazione” (Castiglione 2014). The comparative reading of the two texts demonstrates the circularity of themes and situations experienced by the two main characters in a game of reduplications and deviations that have the same origins, including the author\u27s own experience, and recur several years later in her production: both orphans and almost unschooled, brought up by their aunts, small and modest entrepreneurs, from whom they inherit the hated shops that they then transform into their own destiny, over which the shadows of death, of illness, of the violent sides of the immobile Sicilian province loom fiercely; both women exerting coercive power through an object with phallic valences, Angiolina\u27s fake hand and Billonia\u27s hairpin; both avoiding every social interaction, and who nevertheless pay dearly for the only exception. And if the birth defect will drag Angiolina down to hell, Apollonia will survive just thanks to that anomaly, her heart in the wrong place. Attention is also paid throughout this study to two other versions of the stories: “Angiolina la cappellaia” (1993) and the unpublished “Il cuore a destra” (2022), courtesy of the Archivio Silvana Grasso. L’articolo intende riflettere, nell’àmbito di quella “dimensione ‘silvanocentrica’ fatta ‘più di autocannibalismo che di autocitazione” (Castiglione 2014), sulle variazioni narrative di due racconti di Silvana Grasso, “Manitta” (in Pazza è la luna, 2007) e “Il cuore a destra” (2014). La lettura comparata dei due testi mette in luce la circolarità dei temi e delle situazioni vissute dalle due protagoniste in un gioco di reduplicazioni e scarti che muovono da radici comuni, tra cui il vissuto dell’autrice, e si ripresentano a distanza di diversi anni nella sua produzione: entrambe orfane, pressoché non scolarizzate, cresciute da figure femminili della modesta imprenditoria paesana, da cui ereditano le odiate attività per trasformarle nel proprio destino, sul quale si stagliano feroci le ombre della morte, della malattia, delle violente declinazioni dell’immobile provincia siciliana; entrambe figure che esercitano un potere coercitivo attraverso uno strumento dalle valenze falliche, la mano finta di Angiolina e il fermacapelli di Billonia; entrambe refrattarie ad ogni contatto sociale, e che tuttavia pagano a caro prezzo l’unica eccezione. E se il difetto di nascita trascinerà agli inferi Angiolina, Apollonia eviterà la morte solo per quell’anomalia, il suo cuore nel posto sbagliato. Ai fini dell’analisi viene prestata attenzione anche ad altre due redazioni dei racconti: “Angiolina la cappellaia” (1993) e una versione inedita dello stesso “Il cuore a destra” (2022), gentile concessione dell’Archivio Silvana Grasso. 
UN GLOSSARIO DEI SOMALISMI DI SHIRIN RAMZANALI FAZEL
No full textL’articolo presenta i primi risultati di un’indagine lessicografica sui somalismi della scrittrice Shirin Ramzanali Fazel, condotta attraverso la consultazione dei principali strumenti lessicografici della lingua somala. Le opere del corpus comprendono i tre romanzi (Lontano da Mogadiscio, Nuvole sull’Equatore e Profumo di Uunsi) e la raccolta di poesie Ali spezzate. Nella prima parte si riporta un’introduzione sulla letteratura postcoloniale, sulla biografia della scrittrice e sulla storia coloniale e postcoloniale della Somalia e si delinea un quadro della complessità linguistica del somalo e della Somalia, in relazione sia alla lingua parlata sia a quella, solo di recente, scritta. Nella seconda parte si presentano i criteri di raccolta e si analizzano alcuni aspetti linguistici rilevanti degli 84 lemmi del glossario, somalismi con classe grammaticale di sostantivo. Le voci sono state redatte inserendo le seguenti informazioni: voce riscontrata negli strumenti lessicografici della lingua somala, eventuale ambito semantico, forma nel testo, classe grammaticale, definizione nel testo, modalità esplicativa, fonte del corpus, pagina e contesto. Il glossario, che ha previsto diverse fasi di lavoro (raccolta e ripulitura dei dati, redazione dei lemmi in base ai criteri elencati), è stato strutturato al fine di condurre un confronto tra le voci del somalo standard e le forme attestate nel corpus in italiano. Le conclusioni di questa prima indagine permettono di individuare alcuni interessanti fenomeni fonologici, morfologici e morfosintattici relativi alle varianti grafiche e consentono ulteriori riflessioni sulla fenomenologia dei somalismi, in particolare rispetto alle eventuali traduzioni nel testo e alle modalità in cui compaiono.
A glossary of somalisms by Shirin Ramzanali Fazel
The article presents the first results of a lexicographic investigation on the Somalisms of the writer Shirin Ramzanali Fazel, conducted through the consultation of the main lexicographic tools of the Somali language. The works in the corpus include the three novels (Lontano da Mogadiscio, Nuvole sull’Equatore and Profumo di Uunsi) and the collection of poems, Ali spezzate. The first part provides an introduction to postcolonial literature, the writer’s biography and the colonial and postcolonial history of Somalia, and outlines a picture of the linguistic complexity of Somali and Somalia, in relation both to the spoken language and to the recent written language. In the second part, the collection criteria are presented and some relevant linguistic aspects of the 84 lemmas of the glossary, Somalisms with grammatical class of noun, are analysed. The entries were drawn up by inserting the following information: entry found in the lexicographic tools of the Somali language, possible semantic field, form in the text, grammatical class, definition in the text, explanatory mode, corpus source, page and context. The glossary, which involved various work phases (collection and cleaning of data, drafting of headwords based on the listed criteria), was structured in order to conduct a comparison between the entries of standard Somali and the forms attested in the Italian corpus. The conclusions of this first investigation allow us to identify some interesting phonological, morphological and morphosyntactic phenomena relating to the graphic variants and allow further reflections on the phenomenology of Somalisms, in particular with respect to any translations in the text and the ways in which they appear

No full textIl seguente saggio intende indagare due aspetti importanti nella vita dell’autore: i viaggi, considerati soprattutto da un punto di vista conoscitivo e metafisico, e la lettura dei Saggi di Montaigne. Incrociando fra loro questi due elementi, le loro circostanze e le loro reciproche influenze, l’articolo vuole evidenziare come questi aspetti siano basilari per la conversione interiore di Alfieri ai fini della nascita vera e propria della vocazione poetica.
Alfieri travelling with Montaigne: the search for an inner identity
The following essay intends to investigate two important aspects in the author’s life: his travels, considered mainly from a cognitive and metaphysical point of view, and his reading of Montaigne’s Essays. Cross-referencing these two elements, their circumstances and mutual influences, the article aims to highlight how these aspects are basic to Alfieri\u27s inner conversion for the purpose of the actual birth of the poetic vocation.

No full textIl contributo analizza il tema della verifica dell’apprendimento nella didattica del russo come lingua straniera, focalizzandosi sul valore aggiunto che in questo processo può essere fornito dall’applicazione di sistemi basati sui principi dell’intelligenza artificiale. Nello specifico, lo studio mostra come la piattaforma Revita, nata in ambito accademico per offrire uno spazio di esercizio linguistico potenzialmente infinito e orientato alle necessità dell’apprendente, costituisca uno strumento di indubbio valore (nel caso qui considerato con riferimento alla lingua russa) anche per la raccolta dell’errore e per la sua analisi, aspetti che garantiscono un’organizzazione più efficace del percorso didattico e, eventualmente, una sua correzione in itinere.
Artificial Intelligence and learning verification in Russian language teaching
The article analyzes the topic of learning verification in teaching of Russian as a foreign language, focusing on the support that can be provided in this process by the application of systems based on the principles of artificial intelligence. Specifically, the study shows how the Revita platform, created in the academic field to offer a potentially infinite space for linguistic exercise and oriented to the learner\u27s needs, represents a tool of undoubted value (in here considered case with reference to the Russian language) also for the collection of errors and for their analysis, aspects which guarantee a more effective organization of the educational path and, possibly, its ongoing correction.

The article analyzes the birth and development of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches within the Roman Curia, as an instrument and expression of the Roman Pontiff’s care for the Eastern Catholic Churches. The establishment of the dicastery represents the culmination of a centuries-long journey, often marked by challenges and shaped by historical, ecclesiological, and legal transformations. Its functions have progressively evolved, reaching the current structure following the reform of the Roman Curia promoted by Pope Francis with the apostolic constitution Praedicate Evangelium.

Religions are often protagonists on the big screen. The roles they play vary according to the centrality of the religious element in the script. From films that represent a phenomenology of the sacred to those in which the element of faith is only an appearance, the connection between cinema and religions is close. This relationship can raise legal problems when the script offends a religious denomination by vilifying people or things. In this case the freedom of artistic expression of the filmmaker can conflict with the protection of the religious denomination and the religious sentiment of the viewer. The judges are called to balance these freedoms of equal constitutional level in order to transform the antagonism sometimes present on the film set into co-protagonism.

Emotions, empathy, and virtual reality: some reflections starting with Julie VR
No full textThis article aims to offer some reflections on the nature of emotions generated by virtual reality (VR). We seek to explore the capacity of this kind of immersive digital experience to elicit empathy in the user. However, we are not dealing with just any VR experience: our reflections stem from a concrete case of virtual reality theatre production—Julie VR. The article thus aligns with the field of research that analyzes immersive digital experiences as “empathy machines”. After presenting the Julie VR experiment, which was developed within the CHANGES project funded by the PNRR in 2024, we introduce the concepts of presence and immersivity in VR theatrical environments, outlining their complex relationship with the emotions generated by the drama Julie. In the third section, we delve into the nature of the emotions experienced by the VR viewer, relating them on one hand to the issue of narrativity, and on the other to the role of the projected body within the image space of VR. Finally, we sharpen our analysis of emotions and VR by focusing on empathy, understood as the emotion that most clearly highlights the potential of VR experiences to generate emotional engagement and foster empathic connection
