Hypnosis enables someone to change habits, achieve goals to reduce weight and long-term weight loss maintenance. Objective: This study was conducted to know whether hypnosis have an effect for weight loss in obese people.Method: The study was a quasi-experimental with a pre and posttest control group design. Subjects were divided into two groups; 11 obese individuals received hypnotherapy and nutrition counseling and another 11 obese individuals received only nutrition counseling. Weight was measured at the beginning of the intervention and thereafter. Food intake was analyzed with computer software. Wilcoxon was used to analyze the data.Result: Results of study showed that weight reduction varied between case and control (with hypnotherapy and without hypnotherapy). The average weight loss among the two groups (3.29 kg in case and 0.60 kg in control) were significantly different (p<0.05). The average energy intake among the two groups (1278.4 kcal in case and 1659 kcal in control) were significantly different (p<0.05). Physical activity in case group was higher than the control group. Conclusion: A combination of hypnotherapy and nutrition counseling leads to a better weight reduction than the one without hypnotherapy

Data were collected by interview using open questionnaire, while nutritional intake data were collected by recall method and analyzed using computer. The assesment of nutritional intake was using anthropometry method. Data were analyzed using chi square test and t-test.Results: General and specific feeding pattern were given by the team of disaster and refugee tackling of Pidie District for Keunire refugee camp. Specific feeding pattern was given to the infant of under five years old as a food supplement. That food supplement should fulfill 15.4-30.5% energy and 28.5% - 69.1% protein requirements. Breastfeeding pattern changed into more regular when they were ini refugee camp, because their children were thirsty and crying. Mean of energy and protein intake of refugee infant of under five years old were higher than that of non refugee. The under nutrition prevalences of refugee infant of under five years old were 21.7% (WHZ), 32.5% (WAZ), while that prevalences of non refugee infant were 23.8% (WHZ) and 39.7% (WAZ). Statistically, there were no differences in under nutrition prevalences between both of them. Nutritional status had association with energy intake, protein intake, and infection diseas in refugee camp. Conclusions: There was changing in breastfeeding pattern in refugee camp. The sample was taken purposively.Result: The decreasing average of uric acid in the beginning and end of the research was 1.62 mg/dL in intervention group and 0.85 mg/dL in control group. There was a significant difference on the decreasing average of blood uric acid between respondent in intervention group and in control group. The result of statistical analysis with t-test showed that p=0.000. The purine intake in the beginning of the research was p=0.105 with insignificant different while the purine intake at the end of the research which was p=0.009 also showed insignificant different. If the comparison was the decreasing average of purine intake in the beginning and end of the re-search, there was a decreasing of purine intake in intervention group of 53.78 while in control group was 35.39. The statistical analysis of p=0.000 showed that there was a significant different on the average of purine intake decreasing between respondent of intervention group with respondent of control group. In the high purine of food ingredient in-take, there was an insignificant different of high purine intake decreasing between intervention group and control group with p=1.38. On the other hand, in the intake of medium purine food ingredient showed significant different in the decreasing of purine food intake in the intervention group and control group with p=0.000.Conclusion: The control of blood uric acid level and control of purine intake of hyperuricemia patients who were given nutrition counseling with diet pocket book was better than nutrition counseling without diet pocket book

Pengaruh penyuluhan manfaat sayur dan buah terhadap asupan zat gizi remaja obesitas siswa/siswi SLTP di Kota Palembang
Background: Indonesia is a tropical country rich in various vegetables and fruits which are necessary for health because they contain lots of vitamins, minerals and fibers. However, Indonesian children and teenagers do not often pay attention to balanced nutrition, particularly vegetables and fruits. They even tend to choose fast food which may lead to occurrence of obesity. Prevalence of obesity among teenagers becomes an important issue because it persists to adulthood. Impact of obesity is a threat to public health and needs serious attention. Considering the important role of vegetables and fruits for health especially among obese teenagers, awareness on the necessity of consuming those needs to be made and built through nutrition counseling. Objective: The objective of the study was to identify the effects of counseling on the advantages of vegetables and fruits consumption to nutrient intake (energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate and fiber) among obese teenage students of junior high school at Palembang Municipality.Method: The study was quantitative with quasi experimental design. Subject of the study were obese teenage students of junior high school at Palembang Municipality aged 12 – 15 years old. T-test was used to find out effects of counseling to consumption of vegetables and fruits and nutrient intake before and after intervention.Result: Delta average value of fruit consumption and nutrient intake (energy, fat, carbohydrate, and fiber) based on t-test analysis showed significant difference in both groups with p0.05).Conclusion: Counseling on the advantages of vegetables and fruits affect consumption of fruits and nutrient intake (energy, fat, carbohydrate and fiber)
Hubungan keparahan karies gigi dengan konsumsi zat gizi dan status gizi anak sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Lhoknga Kabupaten Aceh Besar
Background: The prevalence of dental caries in children is high. Caries may prevent children from properly digest food, which is then impair nutritional intake and cause malnutrition. Objectives: To assess the relation between the severity of dental caries with nutritional status and nutrient intake of 8-10 years old school children, in the sub district of Lhoknga, Aceh Besar, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. Methods: This was a case-control study of 54 undernourished children as cases compared to 54 well-nourished children matched for age as control. The severity of dental caries was assessed by a dentist using a caries severity index used by the WHO.Results: The prevalence of dental caries in undernourished children was 90.7%, while in well-nourished children was 54.7%. The odds ratio (95% CI) for having dental caries in malnourished children was 7.3 (2.2-26.6), p<0,001. Compared to children without caries, the odds (95% CI) for undernourished in children suffering from severe dental caries was 10.3 (3.2-38.5). Dental caries was associated with lower intake of energy. The relative risk (95% CI) for children with severe caries to have inadequate energy intake was 4.9 (1.7–14.7), p<0.001.Conclusions: Nutritional status was associated with the severity of dental caries. Children with severe dental caries had lower energy intake
