Background: Obesity is one of the factors that trigger the incidence of non-communicable diseases and increase morbidity rates in mothers and infants. Ghrelin hormone in breast milk serves to stimulate appetite in infants as well as release factors for growth hormone (GH). Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) hormone in breast milk plays a role in increasing the length of bone and muscle mass of infants and mediators of GH work. Obesity can affect baby's weight gain, ghrelin and IGF-1 hormone levels in breast milk. Objective: Analyzes the association of IGF-1 and ghrelin levels of breast milk with baby's weight gain between obese and normal mothers.Method: Observational study with cross sectional design on 40 breastfeeding mothers and their infants in the work area of Andalas Health Center, Ikur Koto Health Center and Puskesmas Lubuk Buaya Padang City with consecutive sampling technique from August to November 2017. The examination of IGF-1 and ghrelin levels was conducted at the University's Biomedical Laboratory Andalas with ELISA method. Weight gain is obtained from first month infant weight loss with infant birth weight. Data analysis used independent t-test and Pearson test. Results: There was a difference in IGF-1 levels in breast milk (p=0.00) between obese and normal mothers. There was no difference in ghrelin levels of breast milk (p=0.90) between obese and normal mothers. There was a difference in weight gain between obese and normal mothers (p=0.02). There was no significant association between IGF-1 and ghrelin levels of breast milk with an increase baby weight gain between obese and normal mothers. Conclusion: There was no significant association between IGF-1 and ghrelin levels of breast milk with an increase baby weight gain between obese and normal mothers

Background: Elderly (>60 years old) population is growing in Indonesia. It is important to prevent degradation of cognitive capacity by risk factor identification and treatment. Objective: To identify the relationship between anthropometric status and cognitive capacity on elderly population.Method: This is an analysis of The Fifth Wave of the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS5) data with cross-sectional design. Anthropometric status is consisted of: body weight, body height, body mass index (BMI), knee height, upper arm length, waist circumference, hip circumference, and waist-hip ratio (WHR). Cognitive capacity is measured by modified telephone survey of cognitive status (TICS). Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney test are used for bivariate analysis, logistic regression is used for multivariate analysis. Results: Variables with significant relationship to cognitive capacity are body weight (p=0.0002), body height (p=0.0001), knee height (p=0.0387), upper arm length (p=0.0114), age (p=0.011), sex (p=0.014), and history of hypercholesterolemia (p=0.003). Logistic regression shows that body height, age, and history of hypercholesterolemia are simultaneously affecting cognitive capacity. Conclusion: There is significant relationship between body height, body weight, upper arm length, knee height, and cognitive capacity on elderly population with obesity

Background: One of the conditions on premenopausal period is the increase in body fat, among which are caused by levels of the fluctuating estrogen hormone. Increase fat affects the body fat percentage and adipsin levels. Adipsin plays a role in the stimulation of insulin secretion by producing C3a, in which C3AR1 (C3a Receptor 1) fragments interact with beta cells to secrete insulin. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine correlation of body fat percentage with adipsin levels on premenopause.Design: This was an analytical study with cross-sectional design. Body fat percentage was obtained by examination using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Venous blood was taken at the mediana cubiti area used for serum adipsin levels. Adipsin levels were analyzed by Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) technique. Results: The mean of body fat percentage on premenopausal was 36,18 ± 8,35%. The mean of adipsin levels on premenopausal was 117,05 ± 87,93 ng/ml. Result of Pearson test analysis got value r = 0,632 and value p = 0.0005 (p <0,05).Conclusions: There is a positive significant correlation between the percentage of body fat with adipsin levels on premenopause
