OSM 1.0 - Obstacle Surmounting Mechanism for Mobile Robotic Platform
Improvement of robotics and or robotic movement is a continuing pursuit. The robotic platform should be able to move between areas of interest quickly and safely but there movement is restricted due to unstructured surfaces such as stairs and hurdles which are higher than the radius of the wheels. In this paper a novel Obstacle surmounting mechanism is designed for high performance locomotion over various terrains for mobile robotic platform. Initially, here we have incorporated the proposed mechanism in two wheeled robot with a trailing link. Proposed mechanism for surmounting obstacles utilizes four bar mechanism with such dimensional relations and arrangements that it enables mobile robotic platform for encountering hurdles which are higher than the diameter of the wheel. The actual approach is to encounter the hurdles through single degree of freedom obstacle surmounting mechanism and placing the wheels over the hurdle smoothly. Nonlinear Static and Dynamic Analysis for Assessment of Progressive Collapse Potential in intermediate RC frame structures
Through accident or act of terrorism, structures may be subject to conditions that could lead to progressive collapse. A large part of common reinforced concrete (RC) structures are designed as intermediate moment resisting frames. In this study, based on the acceptance criteria of the last edition of UFC 4-023-03 document, the influence of some external column removal cases are evaluated by nonlinear procedures in all stories of a regular structure. Nonlinear static and nonlinear dynamic analyses are conducted to estimate the progressive collapse resistance of the building subjected to column failure. Results show that after column removal in top stories, in both nonlinear static and dynamic analysis, the structure hinges exceeds CP level of performance. Compared to dynamic analyses, it is concluded that static analyses are more conservative in the estimation of total number of plastic hinges and shear force in beams

Function Overloading Implementation in C++
In this article the function overloading in object-oriented programming is elaborated and how they are implemented in C++. The language supports a variety of programming styles. Here we are describing the polymorphism and its types in brief. The main stress is given on the function overloading implementation styles in the language. The polymorphic nature of languages has advantages like that we can add new code without requiring changes to the other classes and interfaces (in Java language) are easily implemented. In this technique, the run-time overhead is also introduced in dynamic binding which increases the execution time of the software.
