A Critic on Real-Time Scheduling Strategies
The present scenario of the computing era isdominated by the real-time systems. The real-time systemsare gaining popularity in the field of job scheduling as bothuni-processor and multi-processor architectures to satisfythe requirements of time-constrained applications like flightcontrols, avionics, multimedia data streaming, etc. Theapplication areas are also growing by huge amounts due toincreasing human dependency on machines. Hence tobalance between ever-increasing needs and exponentiallyrisingoverheads; the necessity of new approaches, which canensure the best results not only limited to reliable logicalresults but also acceptable temporal results too, is expectedto increase. Fuzzy C-Means and Snake Model for Segmenting Astrocytoma –A Type of Brain Tumor
Imaging plays an important role in medicalfield like medical diagnosis, treatment planning andpatient follow up. Image segmentation is the backboneprocess to accomplish these tasks by dividing an imagein to meaningful parts which share similar properties.Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI) is primarydiagnostic technique to do image segmentation. Thereare several techniques proposed for image segmentationof different parts of body like Region growing,Thresholding, Clustering methods and Soft computingtechniques (Fuzzy Logic, Neural Network, GeneticAlgorithm).The proposed research work uses Grey levelCo-occurrence Matrix(GLCM) for texture featureextraction, ANFIS(Adaptive Network Fuzzy inferenceSystem) plus Genetic Algorithm for feature selectionand FCM(Fuzzy C-Means) for segmentation ofAstrocytoma (Brain Tumor) with all four Grades andsnake model is used to refine boundary. Investigation on the effects of L-shaped FRPs for strengthening of exterior RC joints to relocate the plastic hinge place away from the column face
In a RC structure subjected to column removal, beam-column joints compromise one of the critical regions. According to analysis, after column removal (result from deliberate attack, vehicle impact, natural causes, etc), in some cases, plastic hinges will be formed and rotation of some of this hinges exceed acceptance criteria. An appropriate procedure to decrease plastic hinges rotation is FRP strengthening. This paper presents the results of a numerical study performed to evaluate the ability of L-shaped CFRP sheets in preventing the plastic hinge formation at the face of the column and decreasing the plastic hinge rotation in exterior RC joints. Two plain/CFRP-retrofitted joints of a typical intermediate RC frame were modeled in ANSYS and loaded under monotonic loads to failure. the results show that L-shaped strengthening with CFRPs can decrease plastic hinge rotation and effectively relocate the plastic hinge away from the column face

Extended Diffie-Hellman Algorithm for Key Exchange and Management
Since the publication of Diffie-Hellman algorithmfor two-party key exchange in 1976, the concept of keyexchange over the insecure communication channel hasrevolutionized totally. The purpose of algorithm is used toenable users to security exchange a key that can be used forsubsequent encryption. The ability to dynamically andpublicly establish a session key for secure communicationbetween groups of participants is a foundation of manysecure group applications, such as conference calls,distributed computation, and distributed databases. The veryidea is based on using arithmetic calculations to transmit theshared session keys using a cost-effective and easymechanism. The Diffie-Hellman algorithm provides bettersecurity against attacks like man-in-the-middle attacks. The number of web pages is increasing intomillions and trillions around the world. To make searchingmuch easier for users, web search engines came into existence.Web Search engines are used to find specific information onthe World Wide Web. Without search engines, it would bealmost impossible for us to locate anything on the Web unlessor until we know a specific URL address. Every search enginemaintains a central repository or databases of HTMLdocuments in indexed form. Whenever a user query comes,searching is performed within that database of indexed webpages. The size of repository of every search engine can’taccommodate each and every page available on the WWW. Soit is desired that only the most relevant pages are stored in thedatabase so as to increase the efficiency of search engines. Tostore most relevant pages from the World Wide Web, asuitable and better approach has to be followed by the searchengines. This database of HTML documents is maintained byspecial software .The software that traverses web forcapturing pages is called “Crawlers†or “Spidersâ€.In this thesis, we discuss the basics of crawlers and thecommonly used techniques of crawling the web. We discussthe pseudo code of basic crawling algorithms, theirimplementation in C language along with simplifiedflowcharts.
