Netnography Study: Racism Against TikTok Account @mingokwamkilama16
The purpose of this study is to find out what types of racism are experienced by TikTok users who have an account named @mingokwamkilama16. This research is to find out what racist words are expressed by TikTok users. Besides that, it also wants to find out what types of racism are happening. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze social media data, namely with NVivo 12Plus to analyze TikTok social media content and data. The data is taken from the TikTok account @mingokwamkilama16, consists of 5 contents, and gets data of 50 discriminatory comments. The results show that the Papuan tribe often experiences acts of racism when using social media, such as creating content on the Tiktok application, and creating an @mingokwamkilama16 account, which is often discriminated against by other Tiktok users. Of the three indicators studied, the most dominant is discrimination on race, which reaches 70% of the data. This shows that racial discrimination is prevalent, this attitude can make account users feel hurt, and many are physically disturbed. Papuan people are also part of Indonesia, but Indonesian people are also racist toward them. There are still many Tiktok users who lack education about Indonesian races
MODEL PARIWISATA BERBASIS TRI HITA KARANA: STUDI KASUS PENGELOLAAN KAWASAN LUAR PURA ULUWATU
This study tries to examine the management model of Kawasan Luar Pura Uluwatu Tourist attraction in Pecatu Village, Bali, one of the popular tourist attractions and is considered to have implications that lead to increasing economic welfare, cultural and environmental sustainability. The purpose of this research is to formulate a tourism attraction management model based on Tri Hita Karana as an alternative model for sustainable tourism development. This research was conducted using an ethnographic approach as a variant of the qualitative approach. Data was collected by using interviews, observation, literature, and document inspection techniques. The findings of this study state that the Tri Hita Karana-based tourist attraction management model makes the three environmental aspects (spiritual, social, and physical) objects as well as subjects of tourism development. In their position as objects, aspects of parhyangan, pawongan, and palemahan function as potential tourist attractions. On the other hand, as a subject, the values of Tri Hita Karana serve as a reference as well as control tourism development policies. Tradisi Bona Taon Suku Batak Toba Di Perkotaan: Antara Kekerabatan Dan Citra
Kinship is essential for the Toba Batak tribe. To maintain kinship, good relations between those who live in the area of origin and those who live in the overseas (urban) areas are always maintained. This sound kinship brings traditions from the area of origin to the overseas area. One of the exciting traditions to study is the Bona Taon. This tradition has long been lost in the area of origin but is increasingly existent in urban areas. The Bona Taon tradition was lost because of the prohibition by the Dutch colonialists. This study examines the Bona Taon tradition of urban-plan models using globalization theory and hypersemiotic theory. The results show that the Bona Taon tradition carried out by the Batak tribe in urban areas aims to strengthen kinship relationships that are full of images. In practice, this tradition has changed from what was originally sacred to only entertainment.Kinship is very important for the Batak Toba tribe. In order to maintain kinship, they always establish good relations between their home areas and overseas (urban) areas. Good kinship has implications for the traditions in the area of origin that they pass on to the overseas area. In connection with the traditions found in the Batak Toba tribe, there is a tradition that has long been lost in the area of origin but in urban areas it is increasingly existing. The tradition is the bona taon tradition which is carried out with a new model. The bona taon tradition was lost due to a ban by the Dutch colonialists. Although in the area of origin the tradition of bona taon has disappeared, but in urban areas it is increasingly existing. Theories used in this research are: consumerism theory, practice theory, globalization theory, and hypersemiotic theory. Interaksi Etnik Lokal dan Pendatang: Studi Tentang Perubahan Struktur Keluarga di Kota Bengkulu
This study aims to analyze the interaction between ethnic groups and changes in the family structure of the Minangkabau, Javanese, and local ethnic groups in Bengkulu City. This research uses a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. The results of the study explain that: First, the interaction pattern carried out by each ethnic Javanese, Minang and local ethnic is an associative interaction, where the interaction that arises is the self-awareness of each ethnicity of the importance of the meaning of life interacting without having to contradict even though different ethnicity or ethnicity they come from. In fact, in the local people's life, even though they live side by side with multi-ethnic groups, there has never been friction or inter-ethnic conflict. Second, in the Minang ethnic there is a trend to change the kinship system from matrilineal to bilateral kinship system, as result there is also a shift in the role of the powerful and responsible from uncle to father who is in charge and responsible for the family. Thirdly, in Javanese, no fundamental change finding, but the change lies only in the calling of everyone in the family
The Resilience of the Indigenous People Towards Natural Disasters: Case of Central Mountains of Papua
The resilience of the indigenous people of Papua towards natural disasters has been questioned because of the large number of casualties post disasters deaths which should have been handled differently considering their knowledge and closeness to nature; thus, it should be easy for them to adapt in times of natural changes. This study is aimed at investigating the resilience of the indigenous people of Papua in the central mountains of Papua towards disasters based on secondary data. Study results showed that the resilience of indigenous people of the central mountains of Papua towards disasters is more influenced by social factors than ecology since, generally, the ecological system in the disaster area in the central mountains of  Papua has not experienced much change. The social factors are, among others, the impact of modern civilization, which has not been well adapted by the indigenous people, and the lack of skills of local stakeholders in disaster mitigation. Revisiting Coffee Shops as Public Space in Purwokerto
The increasing number of coffee shops identifies the dynamics of urban life in Purwokerto. However, how does the existence of these coffee shops influence the socio-cultural life of the society? The research aims to examine the socio-cultural functions of coffee shops in Purwokerto in accordance to the role of public sphere. The concept of public sphere by Jurgen Habermas is used the theoretical foundation of the analysis. Using descriptive qualitative method, the study analyses data taken from the observation and interview process. Due to the large number of coffee shops in Purwokerto, the researchers select six coffee shops with different characteristics. The research finds that coffee shops in Purwokerto tend to be a place to meet up after school or work and spend their leisure time, as the coffee shop offers a good atmosphere to be more focused and productive on their work. Thus, the function of public sphere is hardly found. Instead, coffee shop becomes a private place for individuals to engage with their own individuality and communitie
Perceptions of Masalembu Island Communites on Importance and Threat Values of Small Island Resources
Small islands have the nature of remoteness and vulnerability and commonly occupied by multi-ethnic communities that cause differences in the way they perceive natural resources. This study aimed to find out the communities perceptions on the importance and threat values of resources. This study was conducted through a survey method in Masalembu island, Sumenep Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The data were analyzed using descriptive frequency analysis method. The study shows the resources perceived very important are the sea, mosques and 4 resources with the same score (schools, madrasah, public health centers, and markets). Meanwhile, the top 3 resources that highly threatened are the sea, breakwater, and sand mining. There exists a paradox for marine resources because they are perceived very important and contrastively very threatened at the same time. Comprehensive regulations, programs, and policies are needed in the development related to the sea. In this case, social development, education, health, and economic cannot be ignored. Rehabilitation of mangrove vegetation should be encouraged in ex-mining and abrasion areas, taking roles asbreakwateras well as a means to increase the wealth of marine and coastal resources
Melemahnya Budaya Jamu Cekok Di Kelurahan Pare
Jamu is a traditional medicine that has been widely known by the Indonesian people. One kind of herbal medicine is now rarely used, namely herbal suppression. The term cekok comes from the Javanese language which means to drink by force. The purpose of this study is to describe how the weakening of the herbal medicine culture in Pare Village. Research using ethnographic qualitative methods with interview and observation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the community sees the existence of herbal suppressants. However, there are not as many devotees as before. As an analytical technique, the author uses an anthropological perspective on medical health behavior according to Notoatmodjo to explain the data found. Data analysis used is the data used, data reduction, and data presentation in the form of descriptions. This study shows that the weakening of the herbal medicine culture, including the number of more modern dietary supplements for children; parents who do not have the heart to do the prostitution process; and the knowledge of parents about the recipe for making the herbal-punching herbJamu is a traditional medicine that has been widely known by the Indonesian people. Keluarga adalah Obat: Dukungan Keluarga Jawa terhadap Orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) di Masa Pandemi COVID-19, Kasus di Yogyakarta
COVID-19 pandemic affects people's lives on all fronts. PLWHA is one of the vulnerable and marginalized communities affected by COVID- 19. They  needs the help of families to support their lives who are always faced with physical, mental, social (stigma and discrimination) and economic problems.This article aims to analyze the Javanese families recilience  in helping family members who were PLWHA during the COVID- 19 pandemic. Ethnographic research conducted in DIY in 2020 among PLWHAs through online and offline focus group discussion and offline as well as offline interviews of 10 members of PLWHA family.The economic and social fuction of Javanese nuclear family extend to extended family.  Among PLWHA believe that the family is a physical and mental remedy for their lives.Not only nuclear family but also extended family assistance in both material and non-material are able to make survival in the COVID-19 pandemic.Although ODHA families are also affected by COVID- 19, but the spirit of gotong royong helps the weak, the compassion between the healthy and the sick continues to build. The COVID-19 pandemic has strengthened the kinship between them. The help provided by the nuclear and extended families to ODHA is positive because it will break the chain of stigma and discrimination. Through family support and assistance to ODHA self-acceptance, quality of life and family acceptance will continue to increase.Pandemi Covid 19 berdampak pada kehidupan manusia di semua lini. ODHA merupakan salah satu kelompok masyarakat yang rentan dan marginal yang terdampak oleh Covid 19. Mereka membutuhkan bantuan keluarga demi menopang kehidupannya yang selalu dihadapkan pada masalah fisik, mental, sosial (stigma dan nasional) serta ekonomi. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengubah peran keluarga Jawa dalam membantu anggota keluarga yang merupakan ODHA di masa pandemi Covid 19. Penelitian dilakukan di DIY tahun 2020 terhadap ODHA melalui diskusi kelompok fokus online dan offline serta wawancara offline terhadap 10 anggota keluarga ODHA. Di kalangan ODHA keluarga merupakan obat fisik dan mental bagi kehidupannya. Bantuan keluarga baik berupa materi dan non-materi yang mampu membuat ODHA bertahan hidup di masa pandemi Covid 19 ini. Meski keluarga ODHA juga terdampak Covid 19 akan tetapi semangat gotong royong membantu yang lemah, rasa kasih sayang antara yang sehat dan sakit terus dipupuk. Kondisi pandemi Covid 19 justru mempererat hubungan kekerabatan diantara mereka. Bantuan yang diberikan keluarga inti dan luas terhadap ODHA bersifat positif karena akan memutus rantai stigma dan nasional. Melalui dukungan dan bantuan keluarga terhadap ODHA penerimaan dan penerimaan keluarga akan meningkat. Covid 19 pandemic affects people's lives on all fronts. Sangga Buwana as Food Acculturation: Yogyakarta Royal Traditional Food
 Indonesia has various traditional foods, some of which are the result of acculturation with other countries’ foods. Sangga buwana is the Javanese-Dutch influenced cuisine, which became one of the favorite dishes of the sultans of Yogyakarta. Till date, the publication about sangga buwana is still limited. This paper aimed to introduce and spread the knowledge about sangga buwana as the result of food acculturation, focusing on its history, philosophy, how it is prepared, and its nutritional value. The study was carried out through interviews with the experts and literature review. Sangga buwana consists of several components, including choux pastry, ragout, lettuce, boiled egg, Javanese mustard, and pickled vegetables. Sangga buwana itself and every component to prepare it have the meaningful philosophy about God’s creations. It delivers important wishes and meanings to the newlywed couple in royal wedding ceremony. It was only served to the sultan, royal family of Yogyakarta, and their important guests. But nowadays, sangga buwana can be more easily found at restaurants, traditional markets or food festivals in Yogyakarta. The cultural preservation of sangga buwana has been conducted through cultural festivals, cooking workshops, and research development using local ingredients to prepare it which may support food diversificatio
