Peasant’s Movement Communication Strategies (Virtual Ethnography Study of Instagram Account @jogja_darurat_agraria)
Issue of land grabbing and its relevation, such as violence, discrimination and criminalization of peasents, often escapes from the mainstream of the media. For this reason, a strategy is needed to make the people become aware of the issue of land grabbing. So far the strategy that has been done by activists, academics and related parties to defend the peasents who have been violence, discriminated and criminalized with conventionally. The purpose of this study is to analyze the communication strategies of peasant resistance movements on social media. The method used in this study is virtual etnography with participatory online observation techniques through two stages; studying and carrying out details the object. The researcher doing online partisipatif observation to the Instagram accounts @jogja_darurat_agraria by identifying elements of: communicators, communicants, messages, media, and effects. The results showed that the account already has carried out a well strategy communication, so that their ideological message well deliver to the communicant. The online activism of the peasant movement is the first step to mobilize the people to move in real terms
Understanding of Public Relation Officer towards Transparency and Accountability of Information in Online Public Relation Implementation in Public Institutions
This research with mixed research methods aims to explore the understanding of government public relations on information transparency and accountability in implementing online public relations. Qualitative data is obtained through in-depth interviews with public agency website managers. Qualitative methods are used to obtain data regarding the perception of website managers on the functions and features of the official website of the public agency they manage. The qualitative method is used to obtain an overview of how the government public relations understanding on the transparency and accountability of information in their online PR applications is contained in the systematic features and contents of their agency\u27s website. In addition, this method is also to find out the constraints faced by public relations public agencies in building and managing their online PR.It resulted in the finding that online public relations of public agencies in Indonesia have not been ideal in embedding transparency, interactivity, usability, and maturity websites on their websites. In addition, this study also found that the operationalization of interactivity became the dominant element in activities on the official social media platforms of public bodies in Indonesia. They use social media more than official websites, so researchers argue that understanding of the public relations on information transparency and accountability is lacking
Democracy Issue Usage via Website by Radical Group in Opposing Indonesian Government
This article dealt with the issue of how radical groups include Indonesian government as a democratic country, through the practice of language usage in online media. That radical group is Jamaah Ansharu Tauhid (JAT). We collect data from the web page (www.ansharuttauhid.com) with the word of ‘democracy’ in the proses of query. We determine contents containing government representation on democratic issue. We analysed the text with an analysis model of representation of social actors and social action as Theo VanLeeuwen introduced. We conclude that JAT include the Indonesian government as outsiders in the context of religion. The government is different from JAT in the context of religion. JAT delegitimized Indonesian government with some language techniques. JAT symbolized Indonesia government as “thoghut”, and included it in the web contents negatively (e.g., by pseudo title, epithets, etc.). On the contrary, JAT appreciated terrorism perpetrators by harnessing honorification technique. Identification of Perceptions of Investment Tendency as a Response to Issue of Monkey Business to the University Students in Malang (Identifikasi Kecenderungan Persepsi Investasi sebagai Respon Isu Investasi Bodong pada Mahasiswa di Malang)
Issues were the basis of perception forming because the developing issues gave the impact for any person’s perception. The negative issue of the fraud under the guise of investment certainly has a big impact on the formation of investment perception. University students were a receptive group of issues through intensive interaction by communication media so that they were quite a dynamic group formation of investment perception. This study aims to analyze the students’ gender tendency the formation of investment perception and to analyze the influence of negative issues toward the fraud under the guise of investment the formation of investment perception. The method used in the current research was the method on 318 students in Malang City. This current research was carried out when there were many negative issues surrounding the fraud underwrite of investment in 2017. The result showed that the investment perception is still low enough. The average score is 5.58 or 55.8% by maximum score. The average perception of female investment was higher than male, specifically is 57.7. The perception of male investment score was lower, is 5.36. It suggested that females were more interested in investment than male.Isu merupakan pangkal dari pembentukan persepsi karena seringkali isu yang berkembang berpengaruh pada persepsi seseorang. Isu negatif tentang penipuan berkedok investasi tentu saja akan berpengaruh besar pada pembentukan persepsi investasi. Mahasiswa merupakan kelompok yang mudah menerima isu lewat interaksi yang intensif dengan media komunikasi sehingga mahasiswa merupakan kelompok yang cukup dinamis dalam pembentukan persepsi investasi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kecenderungan gender mahasiswa dalam pembentukan persepsi investasi dan untuk menganalisis pengaruh isu negatif tentang penipuan berkedok investasi pada pembentukan persepsi investasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei pada 318 orang mahasiswa diKkota Malang. Penelitian dilakukan saat terjadi banyak isu negatif seputar penipuan berkedok investasi pada 2017. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi investasi masih cukup rendah yaitu skor rata-ratan adalah 5, 58 atau 55,8 % dari skor maksimal. Rata-rata persepsi investasi perempuan lebih tinggi dari laki-laki yaitu 5,7. Skor persepsi investasi laki-laki lebih rendah yaitu sebesar 5,36. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa perempuan lebih tertarik untuk melakukan investasi dibandingkan laki-laki
Representation of Islamic Communication Ethics in Etnis Gayo Cultural Culture in Aceh Central District (Representasi Etika Komunikasi Islam dalam Budaya Tutur Etnis Gayo di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah)
This study discusses the verbal symbols of Islamic communication ethics in Gayo ethnic speech in Central Aceh District. Speech in Gayo culture is a greeting or call between individuals, between groups or individuals with groups. In Gayo culture, it is unethical to call someone by name directly. Speech in Gayo culture is placed in the context of the kinship system and social structure. The method used in this research is qualitative research with ethnographic approach of communication. While the data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, as well as interviews with customary figures or cultural figures, community leaders or elders, and the community. Then the data were analyzed using semiotics analysis of Roland Barthes version. The results of this study indicate that the verbal symbols of Islamic communication ethics in Gayo ethnic speech in Central Aceh Regency seen in the use of speech used in everyday life is based on kinship system or kinship and position or function (said degree). The denotative meaning in this speech can be understood from the meaning described in Gayo. While the connotative meaning in this speech is understood based on Gayo cultural values. Understanding the connotative meaning of this speech become a reference in using speech in accordance with the context that gave rise to the myth in Gayo culture called kemali, jis, moth and sumang.Penelitian ini membahas mengenai simbol-simbol verbal etika komunikasi Islam dalam budaya tutur etnis Gayo di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Tutur dalam budaya Gayo merupakan kata sapaan atau panggilan antar individu, antar kelompok atau individu dengan kelompok. Dalam budaya Gayo, tidak etis memanggil seseorang dengan menyebut namanya langsung. Tutur dalam budaya Gayo ditempatkan pada konteks sistem kekerabatan dan struktur sosial. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peneltian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi komunikasi. Sementara teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pengamatan, dokumentasi, serta wawancara dengan tokoh adat atau tokoh budaya, tokoh masyarakat atau sesepuh , dan masyarakat. Kemudian data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis semiotika versi Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa simbol-simbol verbal etika komunikasi Islam dalam budaya tutur etnis Gayo di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah terlihat pada pemakaian tutur yang digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari didasarkan pada sistem kekerabatan atau kekeluargaan dan jabatan atau fungsi (tutur gelar). Makna denotatif dalam tutur ini dapat dipahami dari arti yang dijelaskan dalam bahasa Gayo. Sedangkan makna konotatif dalam tutur ini dipahami berdasarkan nilai-nilai budaya Gayo. Pemahaman makna konotatif dari tutur ini menjadi acuan dalam memakai tutur sesuai dengan konteksnya yang menunculkan mitos dalam budaya Gayo disebut dengan kemali, jis, jengat, dan sumang
Jawa Pos’s News Reporting about Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in East Java on Peace Journalism Perspective (Potret Jawa Pos tentang Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) di Jawa Timur dalam Perspektif Jurnalisme Perdamaian)
Clashes involving Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) often become public debate. it took place in East Java. Mass media is very influential due unproper news of that violent conflict would be counterproductive to peace building efforts. Therefore, the principles of peace journalism should be applied. This thesis analyzes Jawa Pos’s news. The goal is to present news that give public an opportunities to consider the use of nonviolent action in conflictual situation. There are six principles of peace journalism namely: finding, considering, focusing on the intangible impact of violent conflict, and focusing more on positive. After analyzing Jawa Pos’s news, it can be concluded that this newspaper applied four out of six principles of peace journalism on reporting violent conflict involving ISIS in East Java. Unfortunately, the shortage of information about reconciliation effort by grassroot level made it difficult to conclude whether the fifth and sixth principles of peace journalism applied by this newspaper or not.Bentrokan yang melibatkan Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) seringkali menjadi perbincangan hangat di ruang public, termasuk di Jawa Timur. Dalam hal ini, peran media sangat besar, terutama ketika berkaitan dengan konflik kekerasan karena pemberitaan yang tidak layak tentang konflik kekerasan justru kontraproduktif dengan usaha pembangunan perdamaian. Karena itu, prinsip-prinsip jurnalisme perdamaian sebaiknya diterapkan dalam penulisan beritanya. Koran yang diteliti pemberitaannya adalah Jawa Pos. Tujuannya adalah menyajikan berita-berita yang memberikan peluang kepada masyarakat untuk mempertimbangkan penggunaan upaya-upaya tanpa kekerasan saat berada pada situasi konflik. Ada enam prinsip dalam jurnalisme perdamaian, yaitu mencari, mengidentifikasi, melihat aspek kemanusiaan, fokus pada dampak nonfisik, dan memaknai perdamaian secara positif. Setelah dianalisis, ternyata Jawa Pos telah menerapkan empat prinsip pertama dalam jurnalisme perdamaian. Sayangnya keterbatasan informasi mengenai upaya membangun perdamaian positif dari kalangan akar rumput memunculkan kesulitan tersendiri untuk menganalisis penerapan prinsip kelima dan keenam
Political Communication of Legislative Candidate in Affecting Political Participation in the North Aceh District (Komunikasi Politik Calon Legislatif dalam Memengaruhi Partisipasi Politik Masyarakat di Kabupaten Aceh Utara)
This study discusses the political communication of legislative candidates in influencing the political participation of the community in North Aceh District. Political communication is a process of communication or the process of giving symbols or symbols of communication containing political messages that have implications affect the attitudes and behavior of audiences who become political targets. Legislative candidates are elected by the general election through legislative elections normally proposed by political parties. This research uses survey method with mixmethod approach, quantitative and qualitative. Based on the results of the research, political communication of legislative candidates influences the political participation of the people in Aceh Utara Regency by 33.2% and the rest is influenced by other things that are not examined. Coefficient of positive value means the more effective political communication of legislative candidates, then the increasing political participation of the community. Likewise, the results of interviews with political figures show that political messages are arranged in such a way by the legislative candidates submitted at the time of the campaign either face to face or through mass media and the ability to communicate or convey messages may affect the participation of the people to vote for the legislative candidate in legislative elections.Penelitian ini membahas mengenai komunikasi politik calon legislatif dalam memengaruhi partisipasi politik masyarakat di Kabupaten Aceh Utara. Komunikasi politik merupakan suatu proses komunikasi atau proses pemberian lambang-lambang atau simbol-simbol komunikasi yang berisikan pesan-pesan politik yang memiliki implikasi memengaruhi sikap dan tingkah laku khalayak yang menjadi target politik. Calon legislatif dipilih masyarakat melalui pemilihan umum legislatif yang biasanya diajukan oleh partai politik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan mixmethod, kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, komunikasi politik calon legislatif memengaruhi partisipasi politik masyarakat di Kabupaten Aceh Utara sebesar 33,2% dan sisanya dipengaruhi hal-hal lain yang tidak diteliti. Koefisien bernilai positif artinya semakin efektif komunikasi politik calon legislatif, maka semakin meningkat partisipasi politik masyarakat. Begitu juga dengan hasil wawancara dengan tokoh politik menunjukkan bahwa pesan-pesan politik yang disusun dengan sedemikian rupa oleh calon legislatif yang disampaikan pada saat kampanye baik secara tatap muka maupun melalui media massa dan kemampuan berkomunikasi atau menyampaikan pesan dapat memengaruhi partisipasi masyarakat untuk memilih calon legislatif tersebut dalam pemilu legislatif

Good usability and user experience are indicators to measure the quality of information system. Among multiple e-marketplace service providers, manager is expected to provide understandable and learnable service and enjoyable user experience. Jogjaplaza.id is an e-marketplace managed by local government for small medium enterprise. The aim of this paper is to measure usability and user experience of small medium enterprise towards Jogjaplaza.id. By using UEQmethod and USE Questionnaire, it could be concluded that Jogjaplaza.id is easy to understand and to learn. Jogjaplaza.id shows positive evaluation for pragmatic and hedonic aspects. However, users perceive lower level of innovation at Jogjaplaza.id. Users assume that the service provided by Jogjaplaza.id is not supporting e-commerce transaction although it is enjoyable and easy to use.Kebergunaan dan pengalaman penggunaan yang baik merupakan tolak ukur sistem informasi berkualitas. Di tengah banyaknya penyedia layanan e-marketplace, pengelola dituntut menyediakan layanan yang mudah dipahami, mudah dipelajari, dan memberikan pengalaman penggunaan yang menyenangkan. Jogjaplaza.id adalah sebuah e-marketplace yang dikelola oleh pemerintah daerah bagi IKM. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kebergunaan dan pengalaman pengguna khususnya IKM terhadap Jogjaplaza.id. Dengan menggunakan metode USE dan UEQ Questionnaire diketahui bahwa Jogjaplaza.id mudah dipahami dan dipelajari. Jogjaplaza.id menunjukkan hasil evaluasi positif terhadap aspek pragmatis dan hedonis. Meski demikian, pengguna merasakan tingkat kebaruan yang minim inovasi. Pengguna menganggap layanan yang tersedia tidak mendukung transaksi perdagangan elektronik walau menyenangkan dan mudah digunakan
Health Information of Literation as Prevention Processes of Hoax Information in the Use of Traditional Medicine in Digital Era (Literasi Informasi Kesehatan sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Informasi Hoax dalam Penggunaan Obat Tradisional di Era Digital)
Health literacy becomes important to have in the communication process that occurs at this time. In this digital era, we can access a variety of information easily. It is undeniable that if some sort of information that we get is a hoax information. One of this information relating to the health sector, namely in the use of traditional medicine in the digital age.In this study, researcher are interes ted to raise the research on health literacy as an effort to prevent hoax information in the use of traditional medicine in the digital age. Especially considering that the use of traditional medicine is also becoming crowded spread in the internet and social media. Researcher want to know how health literacy as an effort to prevent hoax information in the use of traditional medicine in the digital age. Results of research have shown that health literacy is regarded as prevention efforts in the face of a hoax information about the use of traditional medicines, which include: (1) the selection of media in the information needs of health care; (2) determination of the source of reference in cross check the accuracy of information about the health of the traditional medicine; (3) health right decision in using the traditional medicine.Literasi kesehatan menjadi hal yang penting dimiliki dalam proses komunikasi yang terjadi saat ini. Pada era digital ini, kita dapat mengakses berbagai macam informasi dengan mudah. Tak dapat dimungkiri jika sebagian informasi yang kita dapatkan pun adalah informasi hoax. Salah satunya informasi yang berkaitan dengan bidang kesehatan, yaitu dalam penggunaan obat tradisional di era digital. Peneliti mengangkat penelitian tentang literasi kesehatan sebagai upaya pencegahan informasi hoax dalam penggunaan obat tradisional di era digital. Apalagi mengingat bahwa penggunaan obat tradisional pun kian ramai menyebar dalam internet dan media sosial. Peneliti ingin mengetahui literasi kesehatan sebagai upaya pencegahan informasi hoax dalam penggunaan obat tradisional di era digital. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa literasi kesehatan memang dikatakan sebagai upaya pencegahan dalam menghadapi informasi hoax tentang penggunaan obat tradisional, yang meliputi; (1) pemilihan media dalamkebutuhan informasi pelayanan kesehatan; (2) penentuan sumber referensi dalam cross check kebenaran informasi kesehatan tentang obat tradisional tersebut; (3) pengambilan keputusan kesehatan yang tepat dalam menggunakan obat tradisional tersebut
Hoax Communication Interactivity in Social Media and Anticipation (Interaksi Komunikasi Hoax di Media Sosial serta Antisipasinya)
Currently the dissemination of fake information/news (hoax) increasingly widespread. The Mastel 2017 survey revealed of people receive hoaxes every day and receive more than once. The most widely used channel in hoax distribution is social media. The phenomenon of hoaxes in Indonesia raises doubts about the information received and confuses the public. It is utilized by irresponsible parties to inculcate slander and hatred. Therefore, this study aims to get a picture of the interactivity of hoax communication in social media and how to anticipate it. The research method used is a qualitative approach by highlighting three cases of viral hoax in the community regarding the government of President Jokowi and the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahok. The result of this research concludes that communication interactivity is very dynamic. The sender / recipient of the hoax message, is a party that does not like the government. Other recipients of the message are also disagreeing and refuting the hoax as support for the government. Political motive is very strong in this case and there is a goal to bring down the government in power or prevent Ahok from becoming governor of DKI Jakarta again. Hoax that is massively deployed and repeated through social media can form public opinion that the news is true. There are three important approaches to anticipate the spread of hoaxes in the community, namely institutional, technological and literacy approaches.Saat ini penyebaran informasi/berita bohong (hoax) makin marak. Survei Mastel 2017 mengungkapkan bahwa masyarakat menerima hoax setiap hari lebih dari satu kali. Saluran yang paling banyak digunakan dalam penyebaran hoax adalah media sosial. Fenomena hoax di Indonesia menimbulkan keraguan terhadap informasi yang diterima dan mebingungkan masyarakat. Hal ini dimanfaatkan pihak yang tidak bertanggung jawab untuk menanamkan fitnah dan kebencian. Karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang interaksi komunikasi hoax di media sosial dan cara mengantisipasinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan menyoroti tiga kasus hoax yang ramai di masyarakat menyangkut pemerintahan Presiden Jokowi dan Gubernur DKI Jakarta, Ahok. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa interaksi komunikasi terbangun dengan sangat dinamis. Pengirim atau penerima pesan hoax merupakan pihak yang tidak menyenangi pemerintah. Penerima pesan lainnya juga pihak yang tidak sepakat dan membantah hoax sebagai dukungan terhadap pemerintah. Motif politik sangat kental dalam kasus ini dan ada tujuan menjatuhkan pemerintah yang sedang berkuasa atau mencegah Ahok menjadi gubernur DKI Jakarta lagi. Hoax yang banyak disebar berulang-ulang melalui media sosial dapat membentuk opini publik bahwa berita tersebut benar adanya. Ada tiga pendekatan penting untuk mengantisipasi penyebaran hoax di masyarakat yaitu pendekatan kelembagaan, teknologi dan literasi
