Effect of Various Growing Media and Fertilizer Levels on Growth of Antherura rubra Lour.
Antherura rubra Lour. is one of the critical plant at Cibodas Botanical Garden. Study of cultivation through vegetative propagation of A. Rubra is rare. Therefore, the research of A. rubra on various of media and inorganic fertilizers is required to conserve A.rubra at Cibodas Botanical Garden. This study was conducted at the Nursery - Cibodas Botanic Garden for 10 months. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design (RBD) with four replications. Treatments consisted of three combinations of natural compost media with three levels of inorganic fertilizer (0, 1, and 2 dose of level), three katalek compost combination with three levels of inorganic fertilizer and a control (top soil without inorganic fertilizers). Variable tested consists of plant height, number of leaves, and dry weight shoot and root as an indicator of growth A. rubra Lour. The results showed that the growth of seedlings A. rubra Lour. on katalek compost media's with one dose of levels inorganic fertilizer growth better than other treatments
Improvement Soil Biology Characteristics of Paddy Field by System of Rice Intensification
The aim of the research was to test the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method in improving the biological properties of paddy soil. The indicators of improvement were measured by the number of earthworm feces (cast), and the population of some microbial and nutrient content in the cast. The experiments were performed by comparing the three methods, namely: (1) SRI, (2) semi-conventional, and (3) conventional, using Randomized Completely Block Design. Each treatment was repeated nine times. The experiments were performed in the paddy fields belonging to farmers in Sukoharjo, Central Java. The result showed that the SRI (application of 1 tons ha-1 of vermicompost + 50% of inorganic fertilizer dosage) tends to increase the number of earthworms cast. It is an indicator of earthworm activity in soil. Earthworms cast contains more phosphate solubilizing bacteria (12.98 x 1010cfu) and N content (1.23%) compared to its surrounding soil. There is a close functional relation between earthworms cast with total tiller number. SRI method is better than the other two methods to improve the biological characteristics of paddy soil that has the potential to maintain the sustainability of soil productivity
SITE-SPECIFIC FERTILIZATION FOR LOWLAND RICE PRODUCTION IN WEST KALIMANTAN
Application of fertilizer recommendations until now is generally treated equally in all locations. The variety of soil fertility in location was not relevant to use one dosage fertilizer recommendation. The purpose of this study was determine rice of recommendation dosage of NPK phonska fertilizer in rice fields. This study compared the fertilization treatments of NPK phonska based on the method of field experiments in rice fields by using a randomized block design, where each treatment was repeated four times. The treatment were P0 : without NPK Phonska and Urea fertilizer (control), P1 : NPK Phonska 300 kg ha-1 and Urea 200 kg ha-1, P2 : NPK Phonska 200 kg ha-1 and Urea 235 kg ha-1, P3 : NPK Phonska 250 kg ha-1 and Urea 220 kg ha-1, P4 : NPK Phonska 350 kg ha-1 and Urea 180 kg ha-1. The results showed plant highest in the treatment of P2 at 106 cm, where the fertilization treatment of NPK Phonska at 200 kg ha-1 and Urea at 235 kg ha-1. The fertilization with NPK Ponska 350 kg ha-1 and Urea 180 kg ha-1 (P4) showed the most number of tillers at 12.2 tillers and the highest of grain weight per hill at 29 grams. It can produce dry grain (stand for 14%) at 7.5 t ha-1 and the profits is IDR 22,773,581,00
Evaluation on Sustainability of Technological Dimension Biopore Absorption Hole Management for Soil Water Conservation in Semarang City
Biopore technology innovation is an easy and cheap technology that can be applied in any class of society. Biopore Absorption Hole (BAH) is a cylincric vertical hole with a relatively small diameter. Eventhough the diameter is not so big, it is still effective to absorb groundwater.The dimension of technology reflected how this BAH tecnology is applied to the Management of BAH within the society of Semarang City.In order to achieve maximum results, an evaluation toward the sustainability of the dimension of BAH Management technology in Semarang City needs to be performed.The objectives of this research are to:1) studying the status of technology dimension in maintaining BAH, 2) studying sensitive attributes having influence toward index value and the sustainability status of technology dimension in maintaining BAH, as well as 3) formulating the priorities for policies applicable to technology in maintaining BAH in Semarang.The research took place in three administrative villages (Srondol Wetan, Jatingaleh, and Bendan Ngisor) in the city of Semarang.Those three locations were chosen to represent upper, middle, and lower regions of Semarang as water absorption area.The analysis of status determining data and leveraging factor was conducted using RAP – biopore method, while the the making of policy priorities was performed by using Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP).Results suggest that the status of the sustainability of Semarang’s BAH Management technology dimension was on “less sustainable” status (25,01 – 50,00). The strategy of enhancing influential sensitive attributes to improve sustainability status was a great success in affecting the values and sustainability status. Status Keberlanjutan Ekologi pada Pengelolaan Lubang Resapan Biopori di Kelurahan Langkapura Kecamatan Langkapura Kota Bandar Lampung
Status of Ecological Sustainability in The Management of Biopore Infiltration Hole in Langkapura Village, Langkapura District, Bandar Lampung City. Management of Biopore Infiltration Hole (BIH) is an activity undertaken as an effort to reduce the vulnerability of flooding and drought, also reducing the debit of rubbish in Bandar Lampung city. This study conducted in July to August 2014, in Langkapura village, Langkapura district, Bandar Lampung city. The aims of the study are; to know the physical and chemical soil BIH area, to analyze the index and sustainability status of ecological dimensions, and to analyze the sensitive attributes of ecological dimension through the sustainability BIH management. The analytical method used is MDS analysis ( Multidimensional Scaling ) with Rap-Biopore approach which modified from Rapfish analysis . The analysis stage is using MDS with Rap-Biopore approach which include; scoring attributes BIH management, MDS ordination determination , sensitivity analysis (Leverage) , and Monte Carlo analysis. The results of the research; (1) The physical condition of the soil is predominantly blocky clay soil structure, texture (sand 20.47%, dust 25.91%, 53.62% clay); permeability 0:14 cm/h, porosity 57.73%, temperature 27 °C, (2) The chemical soil conditions pH 6.54 and the base saturation 34.66%; sustainability index value reach to 38.10, which the status of sustainability management from LRB is “less sustainable", (4) Attributes that highly sensitive through sustainability management LRB are rainfall and groundwater quality
Rhizobacteria as Biocontrol Agents of Root Rot Disease on Shallot
Shallot is a high-economic value commodit, but so far the supply is still lower than the demand. One of the production problem is “moler” disease of shallot (MDS) caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cepae (FOCe). The aim of this research was to study the potentiality of shallot rhizobacteria (SRB) from various soil ordo to inhibit (MDS). This research was held in the Laboratory of Biology and Soil Health and Greenhouse at UNS. This research was carried out by exploring rhizobacteria of shallot planted on Entisols, Andisols, and Vertisols. Rhizobacteria exploration results were tested for their ability to control Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cepae (FOCe). Inhibitory ability test of SRB to FOCe was carried out in vitro and on shallot in the greenhouse. The research cused a Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with two factors. The first factor was rhizobacteria combination and the second factor was various soil ordo (Andisols, Entisols, and Vertisols). Each treatment was repeated three times. It was obtained three rhizobacteria isolates from Vertisols (B15: 70%), Andisols (B12:45,55%), and Entisols (B10:46,67%) being the highest inhibition results to FOCe. The combination of rhizobacteria B12 and B10 provided the lowest intensity
The Balance of N, P, and Manure Fertilizer Dosage on Growth and Yield of Peanuts in Alfisols Dryland
Peanuts cultivation in alfisols dryland limited by low levels of soil fertility. An agricultural intensification that could be done is application of organic and inorganic fertilizer. This research aimed to study the balance of N, P, and manure fertilizer dosage on growth and yield of peanuts in alfisols dryland. The research was done in April 2014 - September 2014 in Sukosari, Jumantono, Karanganyar. This research was compiled using a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) factorial with three factors, there are dose of urea, SP-36 and cow manure fertilizer. The results showed that the dose combinations of urea, SP-36, and cow manure fertilizer have no interaction affected all of variable plant. The application of 300 kg ha-1 SP-36 fertilizer increased the number of pods and weight of pods, while the weight of 1000 seeds was improved by application of 150 kg ha-1 urea fertilizer
Pengaruh Pupuk Organik Berbasis Azolla, Fosfat Alam dan Abu Sekam terhadap Hasil Padi dan Sifat Kimia Tanah Alfisol
Effect of Azolla Based - Organic Fertilizer, Rock Phosphate and Rice Hull Ash on Rice Yield and Chemical Properties of Alfisols. The application of chemical fertilizer for long time may adverse soil environment. Organic agriculture, for example combination use of azolla based-organic fertilizer, phosphate rock and rice hull ash, was one of ways that able to recover it. Research was conducted in Sukosari, Jumantono, Karanganyar while soi chemical properties analysis was analysed in Soil Chemistry and Fertility Laboratory, Fac. of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University April to November 2013. Research design used was RAKL with 5 treatments, each repeated 5 times. The treatments applied were P0 (control), P1 ( azola inoculum dosage 250 g/m2 + phosphate rock + rice hull ash equal to 150 kg/ha KCl), P2 (azola inoculum dosage 500 g/m2 + phosphate rock equal to 150kg/ha, SP-36 + rice hull ash equal to 100 kg/ha KCl), P3 (manure dosage of 5 ton/ha),P4 (Urea 250 kg/ha + SP-36 150 kg/ha + KCl 100 kg/ha). Data analysed statistically by F test (Fisher test) with level of confident 95% followed by DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) if any significant differences. The result showed that the treatment combination of azolla, phosphate rock and rice hull ash increase soil organic matter content, cation exchange capacity, available-P and exchangeable-K as well as rice yield ( (at harvest-dry grain weight and milled-dry grain weight)
