Antioxidant Activity of Extract and Fractions from Coffee arabica L. Leaves by DPPH Radical Scavenging Method
The potential of antioxidant of crude ethanol extract and its fractions (water and ethyl acetate fraction) of leaves Coffee Arabica L. by 1,1-diphenyl-picrylhydrazil (DPPH) radical scavenging method, was investigated. The 450 g sample powder were prepared by using Soxhlet apparatus and ethanol 96% as solvent. The liquid extract was evaporated in vacuo to give ethanol crude extract. Ethanol crude extract then extracted with different organic solvents with different polarities, water, hexane and ethyl acetate to give ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction. Antioxidant activity assay used were 1,1-diphenyl-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) by radical scavenging method at different concentration of extract and fraction (20, 40, 60, 80, 100 µg/ml). The result of our study showed that the ethyl acetate fraction demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity (IC50 28.2 µg/ml), compared to other, water fraction (IC50 82.8 µg/ml) and ethanol crude extract (IC50 39.7 µg/ml)
The Mediating Effect of Calling on Spiritual Leadership and Job Satisfaction in Village Credit Institution
This research aims to identify and analyse: 1) the effect of spiritual leadership on calling; 2) the effect of spiritual leadership on job satisfaction; 3) the effect of calling on job satisfaction; 4) the mediating effect of calling on spiritual leadership and job satisfaction. The Sample which is used in this study was employees which purposive sampling is taken 44 respondent under certain criteria of the village credit institution (VCI). Data used in this research is primary and secondary data which using Partial Least Square (PLS) in analysing qualifies gathered data. The results of the analysis concluded that: first, spiritual leadership has a significant effect on calling; secondly, spiritual leadership has a significant effect on job satisfaction; thirdly, calling has not significant effect on job satisfaction; finally, calling has unmediated on spiritual leadership and job satisfaction
Crime of Election in Indonesia Based on Islamic Criminal Law
Election is procedure of implementation of the principle of resident sovereignty for Republic of Indonesia based on Pancasila and the Constitutions of the Republic of Indonesia 1945. During the implementation of election (parliamentary, presidential and local election) crime of election always occur. Numerous offenses that occur are vote selling, manipulation of vote counting and so on. There were 903 cases occurred during 2014 election which was handled by Mahkamah Agung (Supreme Court). While during 2009 election, these were about 627. According to Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (commission of anti-corruption) about 3600 members of parliament were affected by these cases. Therefore about 209 members of Governor and District Head are involved in crime of election. This paper is aimed to determine cases in crime of election in Indonesia. This study used case study method, by collecting data from Supreme Court decision related with 2014 election. Instead of cases that the data gained, we also analyzed data based on the concept of Islamic criminal law, hudud, qisas / diyat and takzir and based on Islamic Scholar view. The Results of the study found that, the mistake can be punished by takzir, and others kaffarah for those violating the oath
Social Changes in Peasant Community Due to Gold Mine
The discovery of gold at the end of 2008 followed by the activity of gold mining in Bombana Regency has brought many changes for local people who mostly live by unpretentious as the peasant. This paper examines the social changes of the peasant as a result of gold mining activities by mining companies in the area around their crops. This study applied post-positivism paradigm with the qualitative approach (descriptive and explanative types). It used the case study method. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews on elements of a peasant community, government and mining companies. The results reveal that gold mining activities for seven years have affected the environment in which peasants grow crops and have led to social change in the peasant community. Social changes that occurred consisted of changes and large population growth, social structure changes, changes in social interaction, psychosocial impacts and changes in culture (value of money)
A New PAPR reduction Technique based on Precoding and Gamma Companding Technique for OFDM system
Multi-carrier modulation is less sensitive to time dispersion of the channel. In particular, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has gained more attention in the last decade owing to rising power of digital signal processing. In spite of the several difficulties that entails during implementation of OFDM system, one of the major drawbacks in OFDM is high peak to average power ratio. Hence it is mandate to research on the characteristics of the PAPR in association with its distribution and reduction in OFDM systems. Myriad of techniques were introduced to reduce Bit error rate and PAPR. Amidst these techniques, precoding gives best solution for reducing PAPR. But in this technique, more null subcarriers are incorporated which leads to out-of-band power emission and in turn reduces the transmission rate. In order to minimize OOB power emission, we combine precoding in frequency domain and gamma companding technique in time domain. The gamma compander promotes OOB power emission. Simulation results reveals a trade off between OOB power emission and PAPR reduction
A Study of Application for Production Machine Operation Manufacturing Company in Indonesia
Effective use of machinery is an important element in maintenance performance in the company. There are several ways to measure effectiveness in machinery usage in the manufacturing industry. Among the parameters employed are times of production processes, capability in terms of production quantity and quality, and machinery’s capacity to operate, which is looked at from an economic perspective. Machine operation failures often occur at manufacturing companies in Indonesia. Some of the causal factors are the frequency of machine breakdown due to long usage, cost consumed in machine maintenance, and incorrect application of production machinery. For that reason, the purpose of this study were to examine as to how far these factors are true for the manufacturing company in Indonesia namely is PTP 1 Nusantara, as well as to identify the application of production machinery at this company. The study developed concept model that the factors of production machine application. Machine application factor is the model to examine machine maintenance, which included machine operation efficiency. This model is developed to help the company in developing a more effective production system and strategies, consequently, affecting the study companies’ performance. The research has been done by quantitative analysis. Based on gathered information, study results showed that oversights in machine application, it was found that there were also oversights in the machine maintenance system. This was because the machine applications at the companies haven’t yet to be effective. This is evident from the analysis of data that domain machine condition in this company (min= 1.27), cost of maintenance (min= 1.38), cost of usage (min= 1.26), down time cost (min 1.76), production quantity (min= 1.58) machine maintenance system (min= 1.25). In order to avoid such problems, it is proposed that the company to improve their machine maintenance systems
Northern Terengganu Integrated Development Project (IADA KETARA) Impact Assessment on Paddy Farming Sustainability
Paddy farming is a key agenda in achieving food security in Malaysia. One of the government's policies for achieving this goal is through the establishment of the Northern Terengganu Integrated Development Project (IADA KETARA). This study is intended to clarify the effects of IADA KETARA on sustainable paddy farming based on economic, social and environmental aspects. For the purpose of this study, a total of 425 rice farmers were selected as respondents for their perceptions related to the purpose of the study

The study was carried in the form of survey. This study used a questionnaire is demographic information and brief resilient scale. Cronbach alpha values brief resilience scale this score of 0.80. The sample of international students in public higher education institutions in Malaysia and the sample of the student are 120 students randomly selected as respondents in this study. The data were analysed using t-test, Pearson correlation and One Way ANOVA. The results of this study showed that was not significant difference level of resilient based on gender and program of study. In addition, the factor of marital status shows significant difference between levels of resilient among international student based on marital status. While, there is significant correlation between level of resilient with age. The important of study was conduct to identify the extent level of resilient among international students to get excellent academic result. The study found that the level of resilient among international students in public higher education institution in Malaysia have level of resilient is medium. As result, Master and PhD students are categorized with medium level and Bachelor students are categorized with low level resilient
