    Organizational Well-Being in University

    This research was intended to describe the organizational well-being in university with case study method. This research used qualitative method on data collection. Interview had conducted with the seven participants as the subjects this research. The subjects on this research were five lecture and two supporting staff in academics. The result of the research showed that first, organizational well-being in university is not only tangible aspect such as profit, salary, and other benefits but also intangible aspect such as maintaining or increasing the level in university accreditation, need for self-actualization (attain one’s highest need), improving the quality of human resources, services, and developing Tri Dharma in University. Second, factors that improve organizational well-being in university are job satisfaction and work environment (effective, reflective, and affective). Third, the character of every individual is also needed in university such as loyalty, growth, challenge, optimism, creativity and tolerance. Fourth, the character of the team that represented the entire university is having a positive work relationship. The result of this research could be implemented for developing and evaluating a system that can improve organizational well-being in the university, giving counselling to inspire employees, providing guidance in career path, and planning trainings for lecturers and supporting staff for academic

    Forming Group Identity through Shared Hashtag on Facebook: A Preliminary Study on Malaysian Universities

    The hashtag has become an essential part of communication for those who Tweet and use Facebook. It allows media users to share information and interact with each other as part of a series of overlapping social networks. This article examines how Malay, Chinese and Indian Malaysian universities students use the hashtag to form a group identity. The analysis is based on the used and sharing of hashtags by students in Facebook during several catastrophic events which took place between 2014 and 2015 in Malaysia. Social categorization, social identification, and social comparison were analysed in this research. This study analysed data from a survey of 255 Malaysian universities students. Findings disclosed that most of the Malay, Chinese and Indian students were aware of the official hashtag used on Facebook and majority they agree that it shows their support to the group when posting with the official hashtag. Most of the Malay, Chinese and Indian students felt that they are part of the group when they use the official hashtag, and as the in-group, the use of official hashtag was part of the shared information, being supportive, and cooperative to the community

    Planning Study of Local Economic Development Potential in East Lampung Regency

    East Lampung district included in the category of regions whose economies are still based on agriculture. Although the contribution of the agricultural sector is dominant in the formation of GDP, but the sector has not been able to increase the acceleration of the growth of other economic sectors, and provides a multiplied effect is relatively small. To optimize the role of each sector of the economy, the necessary planning of local economic development potential based on local resources. The aim of this study are (1). Identifying and mapping sectors base has a multiplied effect on the growth of other economic sectors, (2). Measuring changes in the contribution of each sector of the economy, and (3). Planning local economic development potential. This study used quantitative research method. Research found that based on the results of the analysis of LQ, which became the basic sector in the economy of East Lampung district for the period of 2010 to 2014 consists of three sectors, namely Agriculture, Mining and quarrying and Trade Sector, Hotels and Restaurants. Based on the shift share analysis, increased absorption of the workforce more in tune by the development of Agriculture, Mining and Quarrying Sector and Trade Sector, Hotels and Restaurants. Sedangka sectors that are considered to have low competitiveness which is indicated by a minus sign in the shift differential was Mining and Quarrying Sector Electricity, Gas and Water, Building Sector, Transport and Communication Sector, Financial Sector, Real Estate and Business Services as well Notably, services. Klassen typology, sector categories entered in Quadrant I is Agriculture and Trade Sector, Hotels and Restaurants; Sectors included in Quadrant II is the Mining and Quarrying sector; and the sectors included in Quadrant IV is the Manufacturing Sector, Sector Electricity, Gas and Water, Construction Sector, Transportation and Communication Sector and Financial Sector, Real Estate and Business Services. In order to plan the development of the economic potential of East Lampung, needs to optimize the potential of Agriculture, Mining and quarrying and Sectors Trade, Hotel and Restaurant, in order to obtain productivity and high added value and positive impact in driving the growth of other economic sectors

    The Role of Consumer Personality and Social Influence as Antecedents of Brand Love

    This study extends prior research on brand love by investigating other potential antecedents such as consumer personality and social influence. This study seeks to extend earlier findings with respect to the consequences of brand love by including three outcome variables: brand loyalty, willingness to pay a premium price and active engagement. An extensive review of literature was carried out to propose the conceptual model and series of propositions that are open to empirical verification. The finding of this study is a conceptual model that highlights the factors that can play important roles in developing brand love. It is argued that consumer personality and social influences can significantly develop brand love. It has also been proposed that brand loyalty, willingness to pay a premium price and active engagement are the consequences of brand love. Limitations of this research are the propositions stemming from the model have to be tested empirically. This study is first of its kind to investigate the antecedents of brand love from two perspectives namely consumer personality and social influence simultaneously. The idea will significantly contribute to brand love literature

    Developing Secret Code Card for Students’ Writing Ability

    Indonesian students’ ability in writing English is actually less than expectations. Commonly some lacks in writing English are English vocabulary and grammar. Therefore, this study focuses on developing Secret Code Cards to increasing students’ ability in writing descriptive text. Type of this study is Research and Development (R&D). Some steps in this kind of study are self-evaluation, expert review and one-to-one, small group, and field test. The subjects of the research were the eighth graders of junior high school in Metro. From the steps conducted by the researcher there are some revisions of the product from the first prototype. The revisions are addition of bright colour and instruction, clearer instruction, more understandable words, and also to make the product in bigger shape. In the field test the students responded well and got interested in using the product. It means that the product can be used effectively in helping the students and make them interested in writing descriptive text. Based on the finding, the researcher concludes that Secret Code Card is an effective English learning media in writing descriptive text for the eighth graders. The researcher also concludes that students will become more interested in learning English by using playful learning media like Secret Code Card in the class

    Examining the Effect of Customer Satisfaction towards Repurchase Intention: A Study of Hotel Sector in Selangor, Malaysia

    This paper is attempting to verify the effect of customer satisfaction on repurchase intention in hotel industry in Shah Alam, Selangor. As a conceptual paper, the research is considered as a quantitative study. Respondents from 400 consumers are used and will be recruited on a voluntary basis. Considering the nature of the study, the complexity of the research model and the relatively small sample size, analysis of moment structure (AMOS) is selected as the statistical tool to analyse the data. The finding of the study expects to contribute to the marketers as well as practitioners with the valuable insight on the crucial of customer satisfaction and repurchase intention in the hotel sector

    Learning Style of MBTI Personality Types in History Learning at Higher Education

    This study aims to identify the dominant type of learning style in history education students at Higher Education. Types of learning styles used in this study are the learning style according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicators (MBTI). These are Extrovert, Introvert, Sensing, Intuition, Thinking, Feeling, Judging and Perceiving. The sample of this study involving a total of 600 students at a second year (2013) and third year (2012) upon history education major from two universities of education are in Jember and Bandung, Indonesia. Statistic analyses used in this study is descriptive statistic upon SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science 22.0). The result showed that the dominant learning style is in judging the type of learning style aspect. Implications of this study showed that teacher should comprehend a type of learning style for evoking an effective learning

    Effectiveness Analysis Training Workers in Sub Sector Education: Research in Malaysia

    Leadership development program has three main dimensions; course content, the role of the coach and management support. Depth studies in this field show that the ability of management to design and implement leadership development programs on a regular basis can increase the transfer of training within the organization. However, the role of leadership development programs as predictor variables still less studied and discussed in organizational development model. Therefore, this study was conducted to measure the relationship between leadership development programs with training transfer. The survey method was used to collect 237 questionnaires among trainers or human resources working in the services sector in Malaysian universities. The model is estimated using a model analysis Smart PLS route that shows the contents of the course, the role of the coach, and management support all have a significant relationship with transfer of training. These findings confirm that the contents of the course, the role of the coach and management support are effective predictor variables to transfer of training in the education services subsector

    The Empowerment of the Poor in Indonesia Using Posdaya Model

    Various poverty alleviation programs implemented by the government is conceptually used the concept of empowerment. Whiles it cannot be said that these programs have been successful mainly related to community empowerment. To improve the welfare of society, required the participation of the synergy between government, civil society and the private sector. The aim of this study is to dissecting the empowerment Posdaya model that occurred in Indonesia. This study used descriptive qualitative research method. Research found that Posdaya is a free movement to revive the social capital and revive the culture of mutual cooperation in the community and caring between neighbours in building a family life, carried out independently and is open to partnerships to the independent community. Currently the number already successfully established in Indonesia around 44.571 Posdaya widely distributed in more than 300 districts / municipalities in 25 provinces of Indonesia. Posdaya built as a forum to develop an integrated dynamic empowerment activities, namely the development of empowerment for all family members combined with interrelated. The aim is that the leadership of the family know the complete role and function as a single unit intact family. Finally the head of each family and its members can remind each other to empower all family members independently

    This paper discusses about Adam Malik early political involvement in Indonesia. Adam Malik was a prominent political and diplomatic influence in the Cabinet of President Sukarno to Soeharto. Ideology was always applied by Adam Malik is Pancasila ideology, an ideology which is owned by Indonesia itself. The methodology in this study to describe and explain the phenomena, data or events that are being studied to find the answer qualitatively using the method of document analysis study. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the early political involvement played by Adam Malik that have great influence in politics, especially the politics of progress outside Indonesia. The results of this study found that early involvement of political Adam Malik started realizing that he was 17 years old, he joined the Scouting Hisbul Wathan who later founded the Partai Indonesia (Partindo) until he was appointed as Foreign Minister of Indonesia for 11 years. Adam Malik political travel very long to make him very mature in dealing with any event that happens in politics in Indonesia and outside Indonesia. Adam Malik used the free and active politics is known to have been built since the Indonesian stand. Free and active politics is not a new policy. The conception of an independent foreign policy and active as a guarantee of ethical and social relations with other countries that have been stored in the minds of the leaders of the past. Thus, the free and active politics that has developed from the former passed by the Adam Malik
