The scoring quality of astronauts' sleeps using Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) during microgravity effect in the International Space Station (ISS)
For successful health programme of Japanese astronauts during space activity in the International Space Station (ISS), we looked into the sleep quality of astronauts by using Fuzzy C-Means (FCM). At the first step, we collected observation data by following sleep schedule of astronaut Noguchi for fifteen days (26 July 2005 to 9 August 2005) during STS-114 spaceflight. The Fuzzy C-Mean (FCM) was used to design the score quality of astronauts' sleeps. We defined three condition of sleep quality (e.g. sleepy, sleep, deep sleep) with the minimum score (zero) and maximum score (nine). Based on the preliminary result, we found that the minimum sleep score of astronaut Noguchi was from 7 to 9 August 2005 which was due to landing process and the maximum sleep score we found was later than 27 July 2005 during docking on ISS

A Model of Green Value Stream Mapping for Rubber Based Automotive Products
Productivity and quality problems of pre-processed rubber with ignorance of environmental consideration are the main obstacles in the development of the rubber based agro-industry. In order to solve such problems, main objectives of this research are to obtain productivity improvement formulation of pre-processed rubber and model its green productivity. Green Productivity Index of bokar processing was calculated using (1) Environmental impact was calculated using formula (2) Green Productivity improvement model was designed in ensuring products quality to customer while at the same time decrease environmental impact. The model deployed synthesizing tools, i.e. Green Value Stream Mapping (GVSM), the Green Productivity Index (GPI) and Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT). The model enabled to minimize environmental impact while keeping the indicator of economic growth. An improvement initiative based on plantation management was combined with the green productivity approach to form the best improvement scenario. The production process analysed and mapped each stream process using GVSM and induced GPI calculation. GVSM resulted to seven green waste generators. MAUT weighted the final total priority of improvement alternative to formulate productivity improvement. Based on overall analysis showed the best scenario of a Final Total Priority Value (FTPV) with weight of 0.612 where University and Research Institution role maximized than Government weight with FTPV of 0.609
Developing Cooperation Skill (Soft Skills) Through Implementation of Cooperative Learning Method and Experiential Learning in Psychology Entrepreneurship Course
This study aimed to examine the improvement of student’s cooperation skill through the implementation of cooperative learning and experiential learning method in the course of Psychology Entrepreneurship. This study was conducted on 52 students. The data obtained were collected through cooperation or task cohesion scale of Forsyth (2010). Data were analyzed using the t test to see the differences instudent’s cooperation skill between before and after the cooperative learning and experiential learning method given. Test results prove that there was significant difference between the pre-test and post-test data.There was an increase of mean values (mean values before treatmentwas 2.9218, whereas after treatmentwas 3.7324). This study shows that there was a significant difference in the cooperation skill caused by the cooperative learning and experiential learning method
Design of Brush DC Motor’s Speed Controller Using PI Method with Adjusted Hydrogen Fuel Feed on The PEMFC
Hydrogen is one of the alternate way that become a solution of the crisis of energy problems. Fuel cell transform the hydrogen into electric power, heat, and water. The power that was made by the fuel cell can be used for a lot of things, and transportation is one of them. This research main point is to make a design of a speed controller for a DC motor as a main object using the power that was created by fuel cell. The controller is a system that will increase the efficiency of the hydrogen used ,as a main supply, with controlling the flow rate of hydrogen that flowed into the fuel cell in order to avoid the over flowing of hydrogen that will cause the hydrogen wasted. The controller will also boost the DC motor’s response. To conduct the research, the method that is the most suitable for the case is PI control system that will boosted the transient response from the system which stands from a proportional, derivative, and integral parameters that will be tuned by using a root-locus method with the purpose to make a system that has a quick rise time and low %overshoot that will make the system has rise time=10.1s, settling time=66s, peak time = 40.9s, % Overshoot=8.66%, steady state=1 as the transient response’s result
Integrating The Character Education in Local Cultural Wisdom: A Concept in Developing A 2013 English Curriculum in Local Literary Works
The focus of the paper is to integrate the character education in local cultural wisdom by developing the teaching material by teaching the local literary works to the students. The new 2013 curriculum refers to competence-based, operationally integrating the four aspects of competence: religious values, attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Therefore, in 2013 curriculum, the competence in English as subject matter defines in larger domains. It does not only cover knowledge (competence) and skills (performance), but also cover moral education (religious values and attitudes). Based on the research it is found that the literary works can convey moral messages either implicitly or explicitly. By appreciating the short stories, novels, folklore, and poetry, which is integrated with the local cultural wisdom, the teacher can shape the character of learners, so the literature is able to play the role. The values of honesty, kindness, friendship, brotherhood, family, sincerity, sincerity, togetherness, and others related to character education can be applied to students through literature. Thus, this concept will not only develop the character education of the students but also their knowledge and skill. It is expected that the teachers can use and develop the teaching material by giving the local literary works to the students which will help them to get more understanding related to character valu
Availability Improvement Methodology in Thermal Power Plant
Availability of a complex system of thermal power plant is strongly influenced by maintenance program and component reliability. Various maintenance techniques, likes RCM (reliability-centred maintenance), RBM (risk based maintenance) and CBM (condition-based maintenance), have been applied to improve the availability. Implementation of RCM, RBM, CBM alone or combined RCM and RBM or RCM and CBM is a maintenance technique used in thermal power plants. This study develops an new maintenance methodology integrating RCM, RBM and CBM to increase the availability of thermal plants. The method generates MPI (Priority Maintenance Index) and FDT (Failure Defense Task). MPI is used to determine the priority of components in maintenance program. FDT consists of the tasks of monitoring and assessment of conditions other than maintenance tasks. Both MPI and FDT obtained from development of functional tree, failure mode effects analysis, fault-tree analysis, and risk analysis (risk assessment and risk evaluation) were then used to develop and implement a plan and schedule maintenance, monitoring and assessment of the condition and ultimately perform availability analysis. The results of this study indicate that the reliability, risks and conditions-based maintenance methods, in an integrated manner can increase the availability of thermal power plant
Performance Analysis of AC Alternator 115/208 Volt, 400 Hz, 12 kVA of Fokker-27 Aircraft
Alternator (115/208 Volt, 400 Hz, 12 kVA) is a very important electrical system on Fokker-27 aircraft. The device supplies electrical current for flight equipment and other equipments on airplanes. This paper describes the performance calculation of an aircraft alternator including the power calculation and energy, fuel usage, mileage, calculating speed and frequency of the alternator, power efficiency and load analysis. In another part, it explains the alternator relationship with other tools such as: inverter (voltage converter DC to AC) which uses a voltage regulator to keep excitation and alternator rotation constant, and the battery used for special equipment or backup power source
Market of Indonesian Virgin Coconut Oil
Coconuts are tropical plants that can be found in Indonesia. Over the past five years, Indonesian coconut plants produce about 3.1 million tons per year. The majority of coconut plantations are smallholder’s plants. Coconut plants had a lot of production in the past, but a few people who using coconuts as processed products. Processed product of coconuts has a high sales value which one of them is Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). VCO is very easy to produce even by the household scale, but it is only a few of community that produce VCO. This is because the community is not able to know the market. VCO market is very large. VCO which has functions as drugs capable of treating HIV-AIDS disease, Diabetes Mellitus, and Cancer which are diseases that affects many people in Indonesia. In addition, cosmetic needs in Indonesia increase and the people begin selective for choosing cosmetics. The situation is also happened by many countries in the world, so that the VCO export market is still open in overseas too. With the advantages of raw materials from tropical climate, Indonesia should be able to get the high value of the VCO
The Relationship Between PEM Fuel Cell Performance and Liquid Water Formation in The Anode and Cathode
One factor that affects the performance of a PEM fuel cell is the water content in the fuel cell membrane. The membrane water content is influenced by the humidity of the reactants that flow into the cell. In this study, a membrane humidifier is used to control the relative humidity of reactants fed into a PEM fuel cell. The result was that liquid water on the anode side of PEM fuel cells occurred at temperatures from 353 to 363 K. At temperatures below 353 K, the water from the anode output was in the vapor phase. When the relative humidity at the cathode (RHC) and the relative humidity at the anode (RHA) were 90%, there was an increase in performance, and liquid water formation at the cathode occurred at temperatures from 303 K to 333 K. When the temperature was increased above 333 K, the effects on the cell performance and on the liquid water formation were not significant
