Study the feasibility analysis and development strategy cattle business was conducted to determine the feasibility and development strategy cattle business. The results obtained by the availability of inputs (seeds, enclosures, modern equipment and labor) at the study site. Economically viable cattle business was developed with revenues of Rp 32,274,213 per year with a B / C ratio of 2.03. MODIFIKASI PROSES PEMBUATAN KARET ALAM SIKLIS (CYCLIC NATURAL RUBBER) MELALUI REAKSI PEMUTUSAN RANTAI (CHAIN SCISSION) DAN SIKLISASI
Cyclization of natural rubber has been carried out by the chain scission process preceded earlier. Chain scission process performed in a solution of phenol at a temperature of 1800C by using Brosse method, oxidation reaction with fenilhidrazin and oxygen . While the cyclization of natural rubber was conducted by Tutorskii method , using lewis acid catalyst, P2O5. Characterization of raw materials and products of the chain scission and cyclization performed by infrared spectroscopy analysis. The infra red spectra showed the strong peak at 2925 cm-1 and 1446 cm-1 , reduced absorption at 1600s cm-1, the emergence of a new peak at 757 cm-1 and a weaker absorption peak at 835 cm-1. The absorption peaks of cyclic natural rubber of crumb rubber ( SIR - 10 ) also changed . The results showed that the percentage of chain scission were 13.1 % on the latex and 2 % on the SIR - 10 . While the percentage of cyclization yield of latex and SIR - 10 were 22.8 and 73.1 %, respectively.Keywords : cyclic natural rubber, chain scission, cyclizatio
TRAPPING MIKORIZA PADA BERBAGAI JENIS TANAMAN INANG DENGAN BEBERAPA JENIS SUMBER INOKULUM
AbstractThis research aims to study the types of host plants and source of inoculum is best in the manufacture of mycorrhizal biofertilizer.The study was conducted at the home screen Unsyiah Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Biology Laboratory at USU College of Agriculture and Soil Chemistry Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture Unsyiah since July 2011 to November 2011.This research used randomized block design (RGD) factorial with two factors and three replications.Factors studied are several types of host plants and some types of sources of inoculum.Variety of host factors consist of A1 = kudzu (Pueraria javanica,) A2 = soybean (Gylice max (L.) Merrill), A3 = corn (Zea mays L.) and factors source of inoculum consisted of B1 = spore origin rhizosfer kudju, B2 = rhizosfer spores from soybean, B3 = spores rhizosfer origin of maize.Parameters observed in this study is the degree of mycorrhizal infection, plant P uptake. From the research results obtained can be concluded that there is interaction between host plant species with the type of source of inoculum of mycorrhizal infectivity and effectiveness.The best treatment of the parameters of the degree of mycorrhizal infection (infectivity of mycorrhizal) and plant P uptake (mycorrhizal effectiveness) is a combination of host plant kudzu to the source of spore inoculum origin rhizosfer kudzu (A1B1).Keyword : mycorrhizal, kudzu, soybean, corn, biofertilize
PEMBUATAN TEPUNG MOCAF MELALUI PENAMBAHAN STARTER DAN LAMA FERMENTASI (Modified Cassava Flour)
This study aims to find ways of making mocaf flour with a comparison of starter and a long fermentation on the quality of mocaf flour. This study uses a complete Randomized Design (CRD) factorial. The results of statistical analysis on each parameter : The number of a long fermentation different effect not significant (p?0.05) on moisture content. The number of different starter effect highly significant (p?0.01) for yield, starch content, texture. The number of a long fermentation different effect highly significant (p?0.01) for yield, starch content, texture. The number of starter different effect not significant (p?0.05) on moisture content. OPTIMASI PADA PENAMBAHAN ZAT ADITIF TERHADAP NILAI KALOR BRIKET CANGKANG KELAPA SAWIT
Abstract The porpuse of research was to knew influence and the heat of combustion palm oil briquette with added additive substance. The work principle of research included foreword working was preparations raw material (Oil palm eggshell) and additive substance (rice husk, bagasse, shell of coconut).Raw materials of palm oil was burning in the vurnace at temperature 400 0C for four oclock and refined at the measure of 1 mm and so also above additive substance was refined at the measure of 1.6 mm, 1 mm, and 0.71 mm but non burning. Oil palm eggshell powder and additive substance was blended then added amylum as much as 30 % from Oil palm eggshell weight. The compound was taken into press hydrolik to formed and then drying at temperature 120 0C for 90 minute. The briquet that produced was characterized with heat of combustion, water-content, and ash-content-ash. The result of research was palm oil briquette with added rice husk produced heat of combustion of 7.322.49 kal/gr, content-water 15.14 %, content ash 7.0 %, the bagasse heat of combustion of 10.837.29 kal/gr, content-water 15.26 %, content-ash 18.75 %, and the shell of coconut heat of combustion of 9.079.89 kal/gr, content-water 3.25 %, content-ash 8,09 %. The optimum product of this research was palm oil briquette with added the shell of coconut for 15 gr with measure of 1 mm got heat of combustion of 9.079,89 kal/gr, content-water 3.25 %, content-ash 8.00 %.Keyword: briquette, Oil palm eggshell, additive substanc
RESPONSE OF SOME VARIETY AND BIO ORGANIC FERTILIZER ON THE GROWTH AND PRODUCTION OF WATERMELON (Citrullus vulgaris Schard)
The aims og this study was to investigate the response of several varieties and bio-organic fertilizer application on the growth and production of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris Schard). The design used was a factorial randomized block design (RAK-F) with the two factors studied, namely: Factor watermelon varieties (V) consists of a 3-stage treatment that V1 = Varieties Sun Dragon F1, V2 = Varieties Funggawa, and V3 = Varieties Sire F1. Factors giving bio-organic fertilizer (B) consists of 4 levels ie B0 = Without treatment, B1 = 2 cc / l of water, B2 = 4 cc / l of water, and B3 = 6 cc / l of water. The parameters measured were plant height, days to flowering, number of fruits per plant, number of fruit per plot, weight of fruit per plant, fruit weight per plot.The results showed that administration of watermelon varieties can have real impact on the parameters of plant height 2MST. The best varieties are V2 = Variety funggawa. Organic bio fertilizer application significantly affected the parameters of age start flowering, number of fruits per plant, number of fruit per plot, weight of fruit per plant and fruit weight per plot. Concentration of bio-organic fertilizer is best to B3 = 6 cc / l of water. The interaction between varieties and the provision of bio-organic fertilizer giving real effect on plant height parameters 2 MST.Keywords: response, growth, bio-organic fertilizer, watermelo
GRAFTING PRODUCT OF MALEIC ANHYDRIDE ONTO CYCLIZED NATURAL RUBBER IN AN INTERNAL MIXER: PHYSICAL PROPERTIES AND COMPATIBLITY WITH POLYAMIDE
The research of grafting Maleic Anhydride onto Cyclized Natural Rubber has been carried out in an Internal Mixer 150oC in absence of Benzoyil Peroxide with rotor speed 80 rpm. Physical properties of the grafting product determined such as softening point, acid value, color, viscosity, and glass transition themperature. Compatibilty of the grafting product also investigated. The physical properties of the grafting product were not signicanly different with blank, except glass transition themperature was increased. PEMANFAATAN EKSTRAK AKAR ALANG ALANG (Imperata cylindrica L.) SEBAGAI HERBISIDA PRATUMBUH
AbstractNatural herbicides is an effort to improve the competitiveness of the quality and quantity of production. Although the tall grass (Imperata cylindrica L.) is a weed, but this plant can be used as a herbicide to suppress the growth of weed seeds in the soil. The study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of grass root extract in suppressing the growth of weed seeds in the soil. The research was conducted in the home garden experiment pads Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra Muhammadiyah Jln. Tuar no. Medan District 65 Sand with altitude 27 m above sea level and implemented from the month of February 26, 2012 to 23 April 2012. Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial with 10 treatments and 3 replicates and tested using Duncant test (DMRT). With the concentration of A0 = 0%, A1 = 15%, A2 = 30%, A3 = 45%, A4 = 60%. In this research found that the degree of concentration of 15% significantly affect the period of germination, mortality, and length of primary roots. In this study differences in the doses used in the treatment level is too low at 15%. So the difference in the data obtained is not significant among all the standard treatments. But the results of research with a concentration of 30% is in treatment in the use of extracts A2G2 alang - alang more effective against the primary root length on weeds and spinach shy daughter of thorns. STUDI PEMBUATAN TAHU DARI BIJI NANGKA (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lamk.) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN CaSO4 DAN LAMA PENGGUMPALAN
The objectives study was to investigate the effect of CaSO4 consentrations and clotting time on quality of jackfruit seed tofu. This study used a completely randomized factorial design with two replications. The first factor is CaSO4 consentration (C), which consists of 4 levels are: C1 = 1%, C2 = 2%, C3 = 3% and C4 = 4%. The second factors is clotting time (L) consisting of 4 levels, namely: L1 = 30 minutes, L2 = 60 minutes, L3 = 90 minutes and L4 = 120 minutes. Parameters that observed: protein content,sucrosecontent,organolepticcolor,flavorandtexture. CaSO4 consentration and clotting time influenced the protein and sugar content, organolepticcolor,flavorandtexture. Keywords: tofu, jackfruit seeds, calcium sulfate, clotting
INDUKSI RESISTENSI KONIDIA Trichoderma koningii TERHADAP Phytophthora nicotianae PADA BEBERAPA VARIETAS TEMBAKAU DELI
Maksud penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan dosis induksi resistensi T.koningii yang tepat dan efektif terhadap hama P.nicotianae Tembakau Deli. Penelitian dilakukan di BalaiPenelitian Tembakau Deli dan Laboratorium Patologi Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara pada Desember 2008 sampai Mei 2009 menggunakan empat varitas tembakau yang merupakan koleksi BPTD Deli-4, F1 45, NC-95 dan FIN. Penelitian menggunakan desain RAK faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu varitas dan densitas konidia (0, 106, 107 dan 108 konidia/ml). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pemberian T.koningii dapat memperlambat periode laten, menurunkan pengaruh penyakit dan menurunkan intensitas penyakit, antara 2-3 his, 12,51 sampai 20,83%. Uji statistik T.koningii menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan pada observasi periode laten dan intensitas penyakit, sementara itu perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap observasi varitas nyata periode laten, timbulnya penyakit dan intensitas penyakit.Kata Kunci : Tembakau, T. koningin, P.
