    AbstractThe study aims to evaluate the growth response of cocoa seedlings by stripping the pulp and seed husks in cocoa and Bayfolan fertilizer. The design used was factorial randomized block design with two factors were studied, namely: Seed Treatment Factor (K) consists of three levels, ie K1 = stripping lime pulp with water immersion, K2 = stripping pulp by rubbing ashes, K3 = partial stripping of the epidermis, and the provision of fertilizer Bayfolan factor (B) is divided into three levels, namely B1 = 2 ml / liter of water, B2 = 3 ml / liter of water, and B3 = 4 ml / liter of water. While the parameters measured were plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, leaf area, wet weight and wet weight on the bottom. The results showed that seed treatment showed a marked influence on plant height parameters ages 4, 6, 8 and 10 weeks after moving planting (MSPT), the number of leaf age of 4, 6 and 8 MSPT, and stem diameter MSPT age 8, but did not differ parameter significant at age 10 MSPT leaf number, stem diameter ages 4, 6 and 10 MSPT, leaf area, as well as wet weight. While the treatment of fertilizer Bayfolan showed different effects are not real at all parameter above observations. In the interaction shows a significantly different effect on the parameters of high-cocoa seedlings MSPT age 10, but not significant different in other observational parameters.Keywords: cocoa seedling, growth response,bayfolan, Theobroma cacao L

    Research on the role of sea production diversification to increase of fishermans revenues has been conducted, four factors were studied, namely sea mileage, capital, number of diversification, and experience . The study was conducted by using the case study method, by taking a sample of 30 fishermen . Determination of fishermen sampled using stratified random sampling method . To test the hypothesis of the research carried out by using different test average , Regression Analysis , calculated F test , and descriptive analysis . Simultaneously there is a real effect of the distance between the sea , the capital , and the experience of the non- fishing income diversification . Partially, there is no real effect of capital to non- fishing income diversification on the 95% confidence level . In the distance the sea is no real effect of t - calculated value 2.199 2.144 and the t - table experience also significantly affect the level of income with indigo 11.865 t count t - table 2.144 at 95% confidence level . From the test results with the t test , t-test values obtained for mileage at sea is -0.8739 2.144 t - table at the 95% confidence level . Capital value of the t test for values obtained 3.7010 t count t - table 2.144 at 95% confidence level . T test values , for diversification is 109.8938 t - table 2.144 at 95% confidence level .     AbstractThe impregnation technic can be done to improve the quality of palm wood. The dried palm wood specimens were impregnated with styrene monomer and heated at 120C for 30 minutes. The physical and mechanical properties of impregnated palm wood improved. The outer of palm wood and sixth metres high which impregnated with styrene 20% were the best physical and mechanical properties.     This study aims to determine the effect of Extract Bamboo Shoots ( shoots ) and compost on growth of oil palm seedlings in the Main Nursery . Experiments conducted at the Faculty of Agricultural Land Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra , on January to May 2012 . The design used a randomized block design ( Randoimized Block Design ) factorial with three replications . Consists of two factors studied , bamboo shoots extract factor 0 cc / l of water plot ( B0 ) , 30 cc / l of water plot ( B1 ) , and 50 cc / l of water plot ( B2 ) , and compost factor 0.9 kg / plot ( K1 ) , 1.8 kg / plot ( K2 ) , and 3.6 kg / plot ( K3 ) . The parameters measured are higher palm oil plant seeds , leaf number , stem diameter , stem fresh weight , root fresh weight , dry weight of stem and root dry weight of oil palm seedlings . The study states bamboo shoots extract showed no apparent influence on all parameters were observed , whereas treatment with compost showed a significant effect on all parameters .     Evaporative cooling technology could have used to phostharvest handling fresh fruits and vegetables. This piper explain about; the principle cooling, classification and type of evaporative cooler have used for prolongs shelf life of fresh fruits and vegetables, a design process of evaporative cooler. Main function of evaporative cooler operation was attained to drop temperature and increased relative humidity of storage room cooling. This condition could minimized destroyed rate of material and prolong shelf life as while as down activity enzymatic and respiration. The increasing relative humidity could retarded water losses and gas ethylene activity and production. Handling and low temperature storage was physical method available to controle losses of pascapanen products. An applications of low cost storage system was principle of evaporative cooling in storage of fruits and vegetable. Evaporative cooling as physical fenomenon where moisture evaporate at wet material surface to ambient atmosfer interface it other, so moist material temperature was drop namely cooling process. Dry bulb temperature and wet bulb temperature difference of air in let and out let system was result of evaporative cooling did.     The research of the effect of various types of organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of mung bean (Vigna radiata l.) has been carried out by using a randomized block design with 2 factors and 3 replications. The analytical methods used to conclute derived from the analysis of data by using a linear mathematical model. The observed parameters were plant height, stem diameter, number of productive branches, number of pods / plant and 100-seed weight.     THE EFFECT OF MICORIZA ORGANIC FERTILIZER AND SOLID WASTE (SLUDGE) ON THE GROWTH AND PRODUCTION OF PEANUT (Arachis hypogeaeL.)

    This study aimed to evaluate the response of the growth and production of groundnut (Arachis hypogeae L.) to fertilizer application and mycorrhizal biological solid waste (sludge), field trials conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra Muhammadiyah, sub Sei blue-blue, Deli Serdang regency Province North Sumatra with altitude 150 m above sea level, in May and ending in August 2014. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) factorial with two factors: Biological Fertilizer Mycorrhizae (M) with 4 levels, namely: control = M0, M1 = 3 g / plant M2 = 6 g / plant M3 = 9 g / plant and factors giving Solid Waste (Sludge) with 3 levels, namely: S1 = 13ton = 2 kg / plot, S2 = 26 tons / ha = 4 kg / plot, S3 = 39 tons / ha = 6 kg / plot. observation parameters namely: plant height, number of branches, days to flowering, number ginopora, number of pods / plant, number of empty pods / plant, number of pods / plot, weight of pods / plant, weight of pods / plot, and the weight of 100 seeds. The survey results revealed that significantly different biological fertilizer Mycorrhiza on the parameters of plant height, number of branches, days to flowering, number of pods / plant, number of pods / plot, weight of pods / plant, pod weight / dose plots mycorrhizal biofertilizer best of 4 levels of treatment ie the dose 9 g / plant .and solid waste (sludge) was significantly different in the 2 MST parameters seedling height and weight of 100 seeds / plot

    Increased production of tilapia farming as the main priority can be done through the application of SWOT Analysis Method. The method involves review of business location and optimization of workforce to improve production. Method used in this research is case method. The research was conducted at Desa Ujung, Singkil, Aceh Singkil District, Aceh Province. The samples were taken using purposive sampling method. Data collection in this research consists of primary data taken from interview and analyzed using SWOT analysis method and secondary data obtained from Singkil SDO, Aceh Singkil district. The results of the research through descriptive SWOT analysis show that matrix value of internal factor at 0,33 while matrix value of external factor at 0,379, the use of ST (Strengths and Threats) analysis indicates the company to be able to overcome the threats using the strengths from internal factor.     This study aims to determine the growth and yield response of corn ( Zea mays L. ) on chicken manure and liquid organic fertilizer plus . The design used was a Randoimized Block Design Factorial with two factors studied, namely : Chicken Manure Factor ( K ) consists of 3 levels and consists of K0 = 0 kg / plot , K1 = 1.5 kg / plot and K2 = 3 kg / plot. Factor Plus Liquid Organic Fertilizer ( Sea Horse Star ) ( B ) is divided into 4 levels without giving B0 = B1 = 3 ml / l of water , B2 = 6 ml / l of water and B3 = 9 ml / l of water.     AbstractThis study aims to determine the growth and production of watermelon caused by bayfolan fertilizer and manure cow used Group Randomized Design factorial with two factors. The results showed that the use of bayfolan fertilizers significant influence on all parameters except the observation of the fruit diameter. While the treatment of cattle manure only had a marked influence on the age parameters of harvest, and no significant effect on other parameters. For the interaction between the two treatments, namely the provision of bayfolan fertilizer and manure cow showed no significantly different effect on all parameters of the observations.
