Development of an Application Model for Solving the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) Using the Nearest Neighbour Approach
A System Dynamics Approach to Strengthening Egg Supply Chain Resilience in Banten
The growing population of Banten Province, projected to surpass 13.5 million by 2035, is expected to drive increasing demand for affordable and accessible sources of staple protein, particularly eggs. Despite producing over 315 million kilograms of eggs in 2023, the regional egg supply chain faces significant challenges, including feed price volatility, poultry mortality, inadequate infrastructure, and fragmented policy coordination. These issues contribute to supply instability and price fluctuations, which in turn affect both producers and consumers. This study employs a system dynamics approach to develop a comprehensive model of the egg supply chain resilience in Banten Province, utilizing stakeholders’ perspectives through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions, as well as mental models derived from comprehensive literature reviews. The constructed model reveals and elucidates critical feedback mechanisms within the egg supply chain, including the hen health investment loop, price-mediated mechanisms loop, and cost-induced constraints loop. The findings highlight the critical importance of policy interventions, particularly in the areas of subsidies, infrastructure development, access to financing, and poultry health initiatives to enhance the resilience of the egg supply chain in Banten. The proposed model offers actionable insights for policymakers and establishes a conceptual framework to support future research on the egg supply chain and food system resilience in Indonesia

Combination of BLOCPLAN Algorithm, HIRARC Analysis, and Arena Simulation for Design of Transportation and Heavy Vehicles Facilities
Purpose – The study presented in this paper reports on a pilot implementation of scientific management principles in addressing city government facility problems across divisions. To pursue more effective and efficient results, the Tambaksari site that serves various Surabaya Department of Water Resources and Highway Development (SubDRD) tasks, including welding, storage, repair, drainage work, refueling, and security, covering a 15,457 m2 area is evaluated and improved using facility layout, occupational health and safety, and simulation methods. Existing facilities lack grouping based on activities, resulting in inefficiencies. The site poses potential hazards, such as oil spills and hazardous welding practices. This research seeks to optimize facility layout by implementing occupational health and safety standards for effective, efficient activities, and appropriate control systems.
Methodology – This research identifies facility needs, sizes, and proximity relationships using the BLOCPLAN algorithm. Hazard management employs the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method, identifying hazards through Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and assessing risk levels with Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Control system planning, based on the hierarchy of control, is integrated into facility layout design. Stakeholder feedback is gathered through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to refine alternative designs. Arena software simulation assesses workstation utility, guiding adjustments for optimization.
Findings – The combination of the BLOCPLAN algorithm, HIRARC analysis, and Arena simulation resulted in an estimated design layout that can reduce total out of direction travel distance by 47.32%, backtracking by 43.31%, and cross-movement by 47.37%.
Research Limitations – Despite the practical implications involve shaping a more effective Tambaksari layout for SubDRD operations, potentially improving work productivity, creating a safer work environment, and enhancing maintenance service quality for Surabaya City Government infrastructure, the occupational health and safety aspects in this research are only considered concerning their influence on layout design and the simulations only target the workshop activities.
Originality – This study is original in the scope of Indonesian city government work that rarely implementing scientific management methods in addressing their problems and challenges. In addition, this study provides integrated analysis across divisions in city government which are usually very rigid and limited by bureaucracy
Optimization of Preventive maintenance with Downtime and Setup Time Using Goal Programming Method at XY Sugar Factory
This research analyzes downtime and setup time at XY Sugar Factory for the period May 2023 to September 2023. The main objectives of the study were to evaluate the difference between the actual downtime and setup time and the set targets, as well as optimize operational efficiency through the Goal Programming method. The results showed that the actual downtime at Boiler, Mill, and Power House stations exceeded the target, with a significant positive deviation. Similarly, setup times at all stations were higher than the set targets. Overall, the actual total downtime and setup time exceeded the target with a large positive deviation. This study suggests strengthening the preventive maintenance system, managing setup time more efficiently, and adjusting targets to improve efficiency. The results of this study are expected to provide practical recommendations in reducing downtime and setup time and increasing plant productivity.

The results of this study provide information that sustainable consumption activities must pay attention to the behavior of consumers related to social responsibility, external incentives, sustainable consumption intentions, and sustainable consumption behavior
Workplace Environment and Its Effect on Employee Productivity: Insights from the Boyolali Garment Industry
This study aims to analyze the influence of physical and non-physical work environments on employee performance in the garment industry. Both physical and non-physical work environments are crucial factors that affect employee productivity and well-being. The research method employed is a survey with a Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) approach to evaluate the relationships between latent variables, namely physical work environment, non-physical work environment, and employee performance. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 39 respondents working in a garment company in Boyolali, Central Java. The analysis results show that the physical work environment has a significant influence on employee performance, with aspects such as temperature, ventilation, noise, and workspace layout contributing positively. On the other hand, the non-physical work environment, such as communication with superiors, self-development, and responsibility, does not show a direct significant effect on employee performance. These findings indicate that improvements in physical aspects are more urgently needed to directly enhance employee performance. However, non-physical factors may require a more strategic and in-depth approach to yield optimal impact
