Szemelvények a Sopron, Várkerület 34. számú üzletház építés- és tulajdonlástörténetéből
A Várkerület 34. számú épülettel kapcsolatban megtalált levéltári dokumentációk és az arc-hív felvétel alapján megállapítható, hogy a ház mai formáját két ütemben nyerte el. A 19. század elején épülhetett fel a pincét, földszintet és emelet magába foglaló korábbi épület, késő barokk stílusban. Ezt követően, a 19. század második felében kapott egy második emeleti ráépítést, melynek eredeti tervét és tervezőjét nem ismerjük. A későbbi felújítások során nagymértékben elveszítette eredeti építészeti architektúráját, egykori homlokzati díszeiből napjainkig csak néhány maradt meg

A Voronoi-hálós szerkezetek az anyaghatékonyság és szerkezeti szilárdság miatt egyre nép-szerűbbek a bútoriparban. A Voronoi-szerkezetek lehetőséget kínálnak az anyagok optimális elosztására, miközben egyedi esztétikai megjelenést biztosítanak. Ez a tanulmány ismerteti a Voronoi-diagram fogalmát és alkalmazási lehetőségeit a bútortervezésben, példákkal alátámasztva a szerkezeti és gyártási előnyöket. A cikk kortárs példákat is bemutat, amelyek bizo-nyítják a Voronoi-alapú bútorok használatának növekvő trendjét a 3D nyomtatás és CNC technológiák révén. Az ilyen szerkezetek nemcsak a fenntarthatóságot és költséghatékonyságot javítják, hanem új kreatív lehetőségeket nyitnak meg a bútortervezésben
Additional data to the historical breeding of the Eurasian Woodcock in the Carpathian Basin
The Eurasian Woodcock is a regular breeder in the wooded areas of the Carpathian Basin. In the past, several literature reviews on the distribution and breeding biology of the species in the Carpathian Basin have been published, but these have ignored the annual reports on spring returns collected between 1894 and 1926 under the coordination of the Hungarian Ornithological Centre. These included 379 nesting records from the present area of Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. The majority of the data came from the Carpathians, with a smaller number from forested areas in the lower mountains and hills. It was particularly rare in lowland areas, with most of the records coming from floodplain forests. The spatial distribution of the data is somewhat at odds with that described in recent summary works. From the Northern Carpathians and the Eastern Alps, however, these sources report fewer nestings, and most of the data come from Transylvania. The temporal distribution of the data is consistent with previously published results. In some cases nestings were found in late February and early March. The peak of nesting was in April, with only a small number of nestings reported in the second half of May. Breeding occurred significantly later in areas at higher altitudes. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that knowledge of the species’ nesting in the Carpathian Basin is still incomplete
Evaluation of wood chips terminal velocity and some morphological properties in a wind tunnel experiment
The removal of wood dust and chips from the work area is also important for occupational health safety regulation and to avoid the risk of fire and dust explosion. Knowledge of the terminal velocity is an important condition for the effective and economical operation of commonly used wood dust-chip extraction systems. While the largest particles are important from the point of view of the operation of the extraction system, knowledge of the terminal velocity of small particles (under 1 mm) is desirable from the point of view of separation and occupational health safety. New measuring and calculation method is developed in order to determine the terminal velocity of wood particles. We built an experimental device to measure the terminal velocity of wood dust-chip particles, and using the experimental results, we modified the calculated terminal velocity based on the modified equivalent particle density (100–130 kg/m 3 ) in the 1–150 μm size range. The terminal velocity of wood particles under 150 μm more and more deviates from the theoretical values. As a result of mechanical processing, the resulting wood particles’ shape is in most cases flat. The average thickness of the wood particles is mainly determined by the sawing parameters. The flat shape of particles increases the specific surface area in a certain extent depending on the distribution parameters
Functional evaluation of different soil hydraulic parametrizations in hydrological simulations reveals different model efficiency for soil moisture and water budget
Novel soil datasets and the application of pedotransfer functions provide soil hydraulic input data for modelling hydrological processes at different scales. We aimed to evaluate the reliability of soil hydraulic parameters derived by indirect methods in simulation of soil moisture time series and water budgets at profile level of three sites (Forest, Orchard and Grassland) from a Central European catchment (Lake Balaton, Hungary). Five soil-vegetation-atmosphere model variants were set up with the Hydrus-1D model for each site, differing only in the parametrization of input soil data: i) a calibrated reference, ii) measured values, iii) values predicted from measured basic soil properties, iv) values predicted from national soil map information, v) values derived from the 3D soil hydraulic dataset of Europe. Calibrated soil parameters led to Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency 0.50, 0.54 and 0.71 for the Forest, Orchard and Grassland Site respectively. The outcomes for model efficiency of soil moisture underline the superiority of local databases over regional ones and the need for more detailed vertical discretization during modelling. The model performance according to soil moisture and water budget accuracy led to different rank order of model variants. Water budget comparisons indicated moderate differences between the hydrologic fluxes simulated by the different model variants, emphasizing the uncertainties associated with soil hydraulic parametrization either at local or at watershed scale

The Relationship Between Loading Frequency and Truck Speed on Asphalt Pavements
The mechanistic-empirical road pavement design methods necessitate knowledge of the dynamic modulus master curve of asphalt mixtures. This requires the designer to accurately define both the load frequency and the temperature of the pavement structure. The parameter of load frequency is of great importance in laboratory fatigue tests. However, it presents a challenge since road structures are loaded in the time domain, not the frequency domain. This complexity has prompted researchers to develop time-frequency conversion methods to estimate the corresponding frequency from the duration of traffic-induced stress or deformation pulses. Recent findings indicate that the time-frequency equivalence factor is considerably lower than previously assumed. In this study, we introduce a new four-parameter empirical RAMBO material model, derived from the Ramberg–Osgood equation, which offers parameters to determine the time-frequency equivalence factor for asphalt mixtures. The relationship between the moving wheel load velocity and the load impulse time is analysed, primarily based on experimental data and computational methods from existing literature. A method for determining the wavelength of the load impulse is proposed. The theoretical correlation indicates that a wheel load travelling at 100 km/h results in a dynamic deformation frequency of 10 Hz. However, for a strain impulse, the same speed corresponds to a much lower frequency of 3–4 Hz. This study offers a refined understanding of the time-frequency equivalence factor, which is of crucial importance for more accurate road pavement design and fatigue testing
Motivations and Barriers for Cross-Cultural Volunteering Among International Students: A Study at the University of Sopron, Hungary
This study explores the motivations and barriers influencing inter-national students’ participation in cross-cultural volunteering at the Univer-sity of Sopron, Hungary. A quantitative approach was employed, using an adapted questionnaire, to gather data on volunteering experiences, motivati-ons, and barriers. A total of (53) International students responded to the questionnaire. The results show that while international students recognize the benefits of volunteering such as enhancing teamwork skills, community integration, and personal fulfilment, their engagement in voluntary activities significantly decreases after arriving in Sopron. Key motivations identified include career development, personal growth, and a desire to contribute to the host community. However, barriers such as language challenges, lack of accessible information, and academic pressures hinder participation. The findings underscore the importance of addressing these obstacles to improve volunteer engagement and integration within the host community. Recom-mendations for future volunteer programs and institutional support are pro-vided, aimed at fostering greater participation among international students.JEL Codes: I23, J24, L3

As small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) navigate the complexities of the digital economy, adopting advanced technologies such as SAP S/4HANA has become crucial for maintaining competitiveness. This paper examines the role of SAP S/4HANA in transforming business proces-ses for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the manufacturing industry. SAP S/4HANA, an ERP system leveraging the HANA in-memory database, offers real-time data processing and advanced analytics capabili-ties, streamlining operations and improving decision-making. The research investigates the benefits of using SAP S4HANA, such as enhanced process efficiency, data integration, and competitive advantage, alongside challenges including signifi-cant implementation costs and technical complexities. Through a review of existing studies and expert interviews, the paper explo-res how SAP S/4HANA supports digital transformation by integrating ad-vanced technologies like AI and IoT. It emphasizes the need for strategic alignment, readiness for digitalization, and strong change manage-ment for successful ERP implementation. A Soproni Egyetem alkalmazott fenntarthatósági modellje
A Soproni Egyetem a fenntarthatósági kritériumokon nyugvó, rendszerszemléletű megközelítést alkalmazva, legjobb gyakorlatai alapján létrehozta a Soproni Egyetem Fenntartható Egyetem Modelljét (SOE–FEM). Intézményi Fenntarthatósági Stratégiájában meghatározza vízióját, SMART céljait, amelyekhez Megvalósítási Programot rendel. Egyetemi intézkedéseken, munkacsomagokon (WP) keresztül a modell támogatja a Fenntartható Egyetem megvalósítását, működtetését és folyamatos fejlesztését. A SOE–FEM egy piramismodellben ölt testet, amellyel cél egy olyan egyetemi működési kultúra kialakítása, amely a fenntarthatóságot prioritásként kezeli, és más szektorokban, szélesebb társadalmi körben is tovább terjedhet. A Fenntarthatósági Stratégiára alapozottan a Soproni Egyetem meghirdette a védjegy oltalom alatt álló „Sound of Earth University of Sopron” Megvalósítási Programját (SOE–MP). Az intézkedéseket felvonultató implementációs program összhangban van az ENSZ Fenntartható Fejlődési Célokkal (SDG), és keretet ad az intézményi fenntarthatósági kultúra komplex gyakorlatba ültetésének és folyamatos fejlesztésének.
