Cilacap and Kebumen are potential coastal habitat for mole crab such as Hippa adactyla. Ecosystems condition of both locations is distinct. Each organism have to develop adaptation strategy to deal with environmental variation. H. adactyla usually burry into substrate to cope with environmental stress. They have been adapted to local habitat in order to be able for survive and reproduce. However, it has not been well known whether the adaptation strategy may vary the performance of morphology. This study focused on morphological variation of mole crab H. Adactyla. The sample was carried out on August 2014. Mole crabs were caught using traditional fishing gear called “sorok”. They were 118 individuals which where caught in Cilacap, while 102 individuals that were found in Kebumen. The result showed that H. adactyla walk vertically (backwards). These caused by carapace length and carapace width ratio. T-student analysis showed that relative growth for males were negatively allometric and isometric for female in both habitat. Mean of condition factor (K) for males in Cilacap was 0.0319 ± 0.0025 and 0.0315 ± 0.0028 in Kebumen. Those were significantly higher for females (p<0.05) in Cilacap (0.0325 ± 0.0050) and Kebumen (0.0329 ± 0.0027). Mean of relative condition factor (Kn) was higher in Cilacap for males and females. Those variations of K and Kn related to exogenous and endogenous factors

Sempor Reservoir is one of the reservoir in Central Java. This reservoir has primary function as irrigation and hydropower source. Beside, it also has some benefit for fisheries and tourism activities. Reservoir utilization which has not been optimum yet need some adjustments with water quality and aquatic trophic state in Sempor Reservoir. This study was aimed to determine water quality and aquatic trophic state of Sempor Reservoir. This study was conducted from January to March 2014 with monthly water sampling. Survey method to collect data with stratified random sampling was used for four represented station. Aquatic trophic state determination was based in Carlson Trophic State Index (TSI) measurement. This method used some represented parameters of physics, chemistry and biology such as water transparency, total phosphorus, and chlorophyll-a. The results showed that water quality of Sempor Reservoir was still good for fishery activities. Aquatic trophic state of Sempor Reservoir based on Carlson TSI was classified to low-medium in euthropic category ranging from 50.71-64.91. Inlet was the only area which had medium category of eutrophic due to highly nutrient content derived from anthropogenic activities nearby

This study were conducted to determine the presence of toxocariosis in beef cattle in Kasiman Subdistrict, the Regency of Bojonegoro kept under the Sekolah Peternakan Rakyat (SPR) programme. The experiment were done to identify several risk factors that may play certain roles on the degree of prevalence and infection intensity. A total of 263 head of local beef cattle with various ages were taken for faecal samples and 80 farmers were interviewed. Results of the experiment indicated the prevalence of toxocariosis was 5.32% (CI 95% = 2.61-8.04%) influenced by age and gender which showed an effect on the risk of infection. The prevalence tends to decline by age group (p <0.001): calves under 6 months of age (23.68%), and between 6-12 months of age (7.41%), 1-2 years old calves (2.04%) and the above 2 years adults (1.34%). The prevalence is higher in the males group (12.7%) compared to the females group (3.0%), (p=0.003). Logistic regression analysis concluded that age was the only affecting variable to the rate of infection with mathematical models for toxocariosis. Logit toxocariosis = -0.058 -1.098 age.

Diseases and pests is one of the main obstacles in the cultivation of carrots in Indonesia. One of the emerging diseases that cause significant losses is branched (forked) tuber caused by root knot nematodes (RKN), Meloidogyne spp. Research aimed to identify the species of RKN was carried out by taking samples of diseased plants and soil from the carrot plantation in four vegetable production centers on the island of Java, namely: (1) District Pacet, Cianjur, West Java, (2) Dieng Plateau, Central Java, (3) Kopeng, Central Java and (4) District Bumiaji, Kota Batu, East Java. Three carrot plantations with different altitude / elevation were sampled for each area involved. NPA species identification was done by observation of perineal pattern (fingerprint-like pattern) of females and PCR of nematodes r-DNA ITS. Four Meloidogyne species, namely M. arenaria, M. hapla, M. incognita, and M. jananica, were identified from West Java, Central Java and East Java samples, whereas M. fallax found only in West Java

Study on determinant factors on success of Sumatran orangutan reintroduction was done to all orangutans in reintroduction station (84 individual + 1 infant orangutan). This study was conducted from August to December 2006 in the Station of Orangutan Reintroduction Centre located in Buffer Zone of Bukit Tiga Puluh National Park. The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of determining factors to the success of orangutans reintroduction to their natural habitat and to identify other factors that give impact to the reintroduction success. Data were collected through direct observation of activities and daily behavior of orangutans using scan sampling and continuous recording methods as well as through interviews with officials. Data analysis was performed descriptively and quantitatively using statistical tests (chi–square) with 95% confidence interval. The results showed that there is a match between percentage of success of the reintroduction of the six criteria of reintroduction success. The results of chi–square indicates that determinant factors, such as age class, orangutan life history, treatment and duration of reintroduction stage, are correlated to the success of reintroduction activities
