The Urban growth has proven give a significant effect on the hydrological watershed function. Information. Information about the impact on the water resource in such watershed could be spatially quantified using GIS tool. The response of Cicatih watershed in West Java to various scenarios was determined using SCS method. In the scenarios, the effect of an increase in settlement cover to surface runoff and water storage was examined. The results indicate that surface runoff increase to 79% and water storage decrease to 31% due to settlement expansion
TINGKAT STRES DAN STRATEGI KOPING MENGHADAPI STRES PADA MAHASISWA TINGKAT PERSIAPAN BERSAMA TAHUN AKADEMIK 2005/2006
The purpose of this research was to evaluate relationship between stress level with coping strategy and to find out factors affecting stress level among students living in dormitory of IPB. The study site were at Asrama Putri (Girls Dormitory) and Asrama Putra (Boys Dormitory) Bogor Agricultural University. The data was collected from August to October 2005. The primary data included individual characteristic, the resources of stress, level of stress, coping strategy to deal with stress and also the relation between stress level and coping strategy of the student who lived in Asrama Putra (Boys Dormitory) and Asrama Putri (Girls Dormitory) Bogor Agricultural university. The results showed the things that become the factors of stress for new student college, which are never lived out from home before, too much roommates, difficult to interact with surrounding, personal problems, health problems, homesick and financial problems. Most of respondent was experienced high stress level, which is the respondent who get the tendency of emotional stress is larger than they are who get physical stress as a symptoms. The respondent was tended to do problem-focused coping strategy than emotional-focused coping strategy

Poverty still becomes main problem in this country. The categorization of the poor or not poor household based on the poverty line is difficult to be performed in practice. Therefore, it is needed to find other variables that could be used to characterize poor household. In addition, because the households that almost poor could become poor easily, it is also needed to analyze the probability of these household become poor household. This research use Susenas Data Kor 2003 from Badan Pusat Statistik for Jawa Barat province which includes explanatory variables: house physical condition, protein consumption, type of fuel/energy, ownership of asset, and also head of household characteristic. Result from logistic regression analysis shows some poor household characteristics: floor area per capita <= 8 m2, there\u27s no closet, final place of feces exile is not tank, closet type is not goose neck, do not consume food with high protein, don\u27t have motor vehicle or saving, electrics do not use gauge, head of household is a woman, amount of household members >= 5, head of household\u27s age > 55 years. For the urban area, another characteristics are: don\u27t have farmland, do not use gas, do not use electrics from PLN, using firewood, head of household\u27s work status is erratic, head of household\u27s education maximum is elementary school. For rural area, another characteristics are: house is not property of them selves; most of wall not made by cement; don\u27t have precious goods, store, or productive asset; do not use kerosene. Ordinal logistic regression obtain model that explain relation between household status and its independent variables. However this model can not explain probability of almost poor household become poor household, because the household exactly have higher opportunity to be categorized as not poor. Probability of almost poor household categorized as poor household only 9.59% for urban area and 11.79% for rural area

Penggunan Ethepon untuk Peningkatan Hasil dan Ukuran Rimpang Jahe (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) Var. Badak
Attempt to increase yield of 4-6 month old exportable ginger was tested by ethepon applications. This experiment was carried out at IPB Experimental Station Tajur from November 1988 - May 1989, with rates of application of 0, 10000, 20000, 30000, and 40000 ppm by volume. Sprayed plots were combinations of rice husk mulching (0 dan 5 ton/ha) and N fertilizations of 0,200 and 400 kg N/ha. Except for tuber weight and total production, the growth parameters were not influenched by ethepon. The best application of 10000 ppm markedly increased the fresh tuber weight by 91,8% per hill or 81,3% of the total yield
Aktivitas Antioksidan Ekstrak Daun Jambu Biji (Psidium guajava L.)
Antioxidant has an important role in healing some kind of dieses caused by excessive oxidation reactions in human body. That leaf has benefit to resist diarrhea, anti inflammation, and anti mutagenic. It is assumed it could be used as antioxidant. The research was aimed to know the antioxidant activity of the extract of Psidium guajava leaf. The local leaf was from Bantar Kambing area in Bogor. The methods were thiocyanate method and thiobarbituric acid (TBA) method. The result showed that the leaf wich had the best antioxidant potential was the white local Psidium guajava leaf extracted by ethanol 70% in a maceration manner. In the tyochianate method, the extract of white Psidium guajava leaf had protective factor near to Vitamin E or tocopherol, that is 1.10 and tocoferol was 1.16. antioxidative evaluation using the TBA method showed that the highest activity was from ethanol extract of white Psidium guajava leaf could obstruct it up to 94.19% toward the control, however the actif constituents are unknown. Phytochemical evaluation result showed that the Psidium guajava leaf are contained tannin, phenol, flavonoid, quinon, and steroid
Karakterisasi Hidrologi dan Daur Limpasan Permukaan Daerah Aliran Sungai Ciliwung
This research was done following the general water balance equation Pg - E* = R in three stages: preliminary, hydrometeorology, and runoff analyses. Measurements of infiltrations were conducted on the upper Ciliwung basin at different land units and cumulative basin infiltration was computed, and erosion was predicted using the USLE method. From the hydrometeorology analysis it was concluded that variations of the point rainfall was diminishing in the downstream-to-upstream direction, however the opposite was true for the spatial distribution. Heavy rainfalls occurred at an average of five events in January and 0,2 events in July. The Average intensity varied between 8 mm and 20 mm/hr, and rainfall durations varied between 3 to 5 hours. Prediction of annual cumulative infiltration yielded 70 to 74 percent of total rainfall, and erosions exceeding the threshold levels of 20 to 43 ton/ha/yr only occurred in the uplands, shrubs, and plantations which are about 50 percent of the upper basin areal. Basin runoffs showed excessive ratios in many instances and at all time scales: hourly, daily, and monthly, ranging between 10 to 100 percent of total rainfall. It is considered due to contributions from groundwater sources which might not be limited to the basin boundaries. Time of concentrations also varied widely, i.e. 0.4 to 3.3 hours for upper, 0.9 to 7.1 hours fo middle, and 1.6 to 15.5 hours for lower outlets
Peranan Rekayasa Dalam Sistem Pemanfaatan Kayu Konstruksi di Indonesia
Up to now the main problem wich always appears in timber construction design is that structural timber is not available readily in the market. A machine stress rating system called PANTER is practical and suitable to the social, economical and technological conditions f the Indonesian way of life, trying to reduce the gap between theory (design) and practice (implementation) of timber construction through structural timber procurement from sawn timber commercial as well as lesser known species in the market. The objective of the study of the role of engineering is to establish a supply system for structural timber in the frame os supporting the realization of a rational timber construction practice. The methodology approach is to identify and study problems related to the producer (sawmill industry) and the construction community (Perumnas or private enterprise) through stress grading activity in the field and to gather secondary data, followed with description and comparative analysis. The result of the study showed that from 2700 pieces of lumber which had been stress graded, consisted of sizes of 5/7, 5/10 and 6/12 cm/cm, were in the range of structural grade TS-7 up to TS-25 (82 %) with the rest of 9 % rejects and only 9 % falls under high strength category (TS-27 up to TS-25). It also was concluded that the stresses in the members produced from the design loadings could be arranged such that each member can function according to a standard size as well as its strength. Optimation using structural timber was achieved through size and stress grade arrangements, such that the needed members of a structural component could be adjusted to the availability of stress grade composition which exist in the field
