DAYA DUKUNG LINGKUNGAN PERAIRAN TELUK EKAS UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN KEGIATAN BUDIDAYA IKAN KERAPU DALAM KARAM BA JARING APUNG
Grouper net cages culture in Ekas Bay, East Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat were carried out for public income improvement. The net cages culture also potentially waste generate that can be harmful for those activity itself. Waste potential study from net cages culture was conducted to obtain information about Ekas Bay carrying capacity for culture activity. The information consists of physical and chemical properties of water (salinity, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, turbidity, and depth) as primary and secondary data. According to ammonia and nitrate concentration, the net cages culture activities could not suit the carrying capacity of Ekas Bay. The cage culture activity should be organize therefore can be economically and ecologically profitable furthermore ecologically sustainable
KANDUNGAN KIMIA BERBAGAI EKSTRAK DAUN MIANA (COLEUS BLUMEI BENTH) DAN EFEK ANTHELMINTIKNYA TERHADAP CACING PITA PADA AYAM
Study on the chemical compound of painted nettle (Coleus blumei Benth) leave extract and its anthelmintic activity against chicken tapeworm were conducted. Leave of painted nettle were collected and extracted with hexane, chloroform, ethanol and water. Phytochemical analysis was carried out to determine the chemical compound of secondary metabolites. Anthelmintic activity was evaluated with an assay using chicken tapeworm in a serial microplate dilution method by determination of efective concentration 50 (EC50) using probit analysis. The result of phytochemistry analysis showed that Coleus leaves consisted of flavonoid, steroid, tannin and saponin. Three of four extracts displayed strong anthelmintic activity with the higest activity belong to chloroform extract with EC50 5 mg/ml followed by n-hexane 9 mg/ml and metanol extract 10,2 mg/ml, while water extract has a weak anthelmintic activity with 106,2 mg/ml. In general, chloroform extract proved to be a more efficient extractant of biologically active compounds than either hexane, ethanol or water extract. The promising activity displayed by a number of extracts has led to further investigation of the active compound. Unfortunately, the result of invivo assay showed that the chloroform extract treatment with dose level 25 mg/kg BW could not to reduce the number of tapeworm in chicken. It is interesting for further investigate the differences of respon between in vitro and in vivo to determine involved factors
Usaha Meningkatkan Produksi Daging Ternak Domba dan Kambing Melalui Peningkatan Kadar Protein Ransumnya
Using 20 male lambs and 20 male kids of the local breed (about 4 to 5 months old, weighing about 8-10 kg), an experiment was conducted to study the respons of the sheep or goat to the grass-concentrate ration. The grass protein content was about 2 % and its gross energy content was about 4300 cal/gram dry matter. Three batches of concentrates was formulated to contain protein of 20, 30 and 40 % for lambs and 10, 20, and 30 % for kids (as fed basis) while their energy contents were maintained at about 3800 cal/gram dry matter. Two animals of each species were slaughtered at the beginning of the experiment to examine the initial carcass composition. The duration of the experiment was 4 months. The results indicated that as the protein of the ration increased, the daily protein consumption of both sheep (153 to 259 grams per animal) and goat (65 to 119 grams per animal), the price of ration per kg of body weight gain ( 2.5) increased and the income over feed cost (1.2 to 0.7) decreased (P < 0.05). But its effect on the meat production performances of the animals were not significant
Karakterisasi Deposit Mineral Zeolit Dalam Aspek Pemanfaatannya di Bidang Pertanian
Agricultural extensification effort in Indonesia are almost always accompanied by a problem of low productivity land. This problem is caused by physical or chemical properties of the land, such as cation exchange capacity, base, pH, nutrient availability, and low water absorbtion capacity, while Al and Fe saturation are relatively high. Utilization of zeolite mineral is an alternative method besides lime in order to improve land quality, and to increase agricultural production. The aim of this research is to identify characteristics of zeolite from some deposits that have high relation to its uses as a cation - exchange substance or as an absorbent of water and nutrients. Zeolite of Bayah has the highest purity compare with that of Bojong and Gunung Dewi. The best heating - activation result according to X-ray diffractogram and zeolite CEC is the temperature between 150 - 300C, while dealumination-activation with HCI of0.2 - 0.5 N can improve zeolite capability as a cation exchange substance. Fraction coarser than 28 mesh to 60 mesh gives better utilization than that of finer ones. Fraction of 48 mesh with 150 - 300C heat treatment gives the highest absoptive capacity to water

Keberadaan Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) Sebagai Vektor Pineapple Mealybug Wilt-associated Virus (PMWaV) Pada Tanaman Nanas
Mealybug can almost be found in all pineapple fields (Ananas comosus (Linnaeus)). The insect is known to be a vector of Pineapple Mealybug wilt-associated Virus (PMWaV). The insect samples taken from pineapple in Bunihayu, Jalancagak, Subang, West Java, were identified in laboratory. Mealybug-ant symbionts were also taken. The ability of this ant to carry the mealybugs from colony reared on kabocha (Cucurbita maxima) to pineapple was also tested at green house level. Only one spesies of mealybug was found on pineapple, i.e. Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae). The mealybugs were found to colonize root, basal of stem and the leaf. Eight ant species were found to be associated with mealybug. There are four species belongs to Pseudolasius genera, two species Cardiocondyla genera, Paratrechina sp. and Dorylus sp. Paratrechina sp. showed the ability to carry D. brevipes from kabocha population to pineapple. Therefore the ants should also be controlled in the total management of PMWav
EVALUASI BAKTERI INDIKATOR SANITASI DI SEPANJANG RANTAI DISTRIBUSI ES BATU DI BOGOR
Ice was never considered to be of microbiological concern, due to it\u27s low temperature. However, this perception is contradictive with a number research that shows several outbreaks of enteric Illness caused by ice. Evaluation of microbiological quality of ica In Bogor, emphasize on the presence of sanitation indicator bacteria (coliform fecal and non fecal) is associated with hygiene and sanitation implemantation on Ice handling. The presence of sanitation indicator bacteria on ice Is an Indication of poor hygiene on Ice handling, and also as an indicator of the presence of fecal pathogenic bacteria that can be harmful since they can cause foodborne diseases. The objective of this research is to examine the microbiological quality of ice through out Its distribution chain In Bogor, with coliform presence as the criteria. A total of 31 samples were analysed, consisted of 4 samples from ice manufactures, 6 samples from distributors (\u27depot’), and 21 samples from ice vendors. The result showed the total plate count of the samples are in the range between 2.8xl02 CFU/ml to 1.1x106 CFU/ml, while coliform were 1.5x102 MPN/100 ml to 1.2x106 MPN/100 ml. There were 31 samples (100%) coliform positive, 14 samples (45%) fecal coliform positive, 31 samples (100%) non fecal coliform positive, and 3 samples (10%) E.coli positive. The results shawed that ice cubes in Bogor area did not meet the microbiological criteria specified In SNI and Kepmenkes (coliform and E. coli absence in 100 ml) indicating of poor hygiene of Ice handling In Bogor
Pengaruh Penggunaan Mulsa Dan Pengolahan Tanah Terhadap Aliran Permukaan, Erosi Dan Selektivitas Erosi Pada Latosol Coklat Kemerahan Darmaga
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of conservation and straw mulch applications on runoff, erosion, selectivity in a cropping pattern of groundnuts - filed corn. Tillage systems used were zero tillage and minimum tillage, while straw mulch application used were 0, 30, 60, and 90 percent coverage on Reddish Brown Latosol, Darmaga. This study was carried out in the planting season of 1088/1989 (November 1988 to 1989). Groundnuts (Pelanduk variety) was planted immediately after land preparation, just before the straw mulches were applied. Field corn (Arjuna variety) was planted right after the harvesting of groundnuts. Runoff and soil loss were recorded and some samples were collected for laboratory analysis. The data analysis shows that runoff were significantly decreased by the minimum tillage system and soil loss were significantly decreased by the increasing straw mulch application with a linier relationship. Straw mulch coverage of at least 60 percent reduced the soil loss by more than 50 percent. However, the increasing straw mulch applications were not significantly effective to reduce plant nutrient loss. This is due to the increasing selectivity of erosion process by the increasing straw mulch application

Dampak Transformasi Tenaga Kerja Pertanian Terhadap Pendapatan Rumah Tangga (Studi Kasus pada Desa Urban dan Ural di Kab. Bogor
The Objectives of this study are: (1) to identify agricultural household characteristic in rural and urban areas, (2) to identify the factors that encouraging the process of labour transformation in rural and urban areas, and (3) to analyze the process of labour transformation impact to households income in rural and urban. The design of study is the case study in the district of Bogor. The sampling method use multistage sampling with data analyzing of: (1) descriptive analysis, (2) Binary choice model in logistic function, and (3) Income analysis. The results of study show that educational level of head of agricultural household in rural more than urban and conversely for income. The factors in wich influent the decision of head of household to transform in rural are age (X3) and income expectation from non-farm (5). In urban, the factors in which influent decision are self belonging of land (X1), the amount of working age of household family members (X2), the educational level of head of household (X4), and income expectation from non-farm (x5). Income level of houshold in rural and urban is not significant (Prob 0.2906). Mean while, the average of farm income in rural and urban is significant (Prob = 0.0028). The income of transformed farmer is more than pure farmer. The income level significant both rural (Prob = 0.0618) and urban (0.0110)
