DO with a high spatial concentration value reaches the range of 6.2-14.5 mg/L in Muara Marunda (Station 10), and increase the abundance of zooplankton as much as 5.1106 Ind/m3, with a majority composition of crustacea. Results of classification was diversity moderate, stable uniformity, and high dominance index
Penerapan Teknik Citra Digital Sebagai Metode Pengukuran Morfometrik Ternak Pada Sapi Bali dan Peranakan Ongole
Morphometric measurements using digital image technique give a lot of benefits i.e., a safer method both for the researchers and the experimental animals, produce a more accurate morphometric data, reduce the stress in the experimental animals and produce a more detail and complete morphometric data. This experiment used 20 Ongole cross cattle and 20 Bali cattle with the average age of 3 years. Digital image data were collected by using DSLR camera with 18Mp resolution. The collected digital image data were analyzed by using Image J program. Parameters measured in this observation were body length, body height, hip height, pelvic height, loin height, the length of ossa vertebrae cervicales, the length of ossa vertebrae thoracicae, the length of ossa vertebrae lumbales, the length of os scapula, the length of os humerus, the length of ossa radius-ulna, the length of os metacarpale III, the length of os femoris, the length of ossa tibia-fibula, and the length of os metatarsale III. Digital image technique could replace the manual technique for morphometric measurement with a lower level of variance (<10%). Application of digital image technique for measurement of morphometric parameters in Ongole Cross and Bali cattle showed that Bali cattle has a potential for muscle deposition in body frame and body axis while Ongole Cross cattle has a potential for muscle deposition in fore and hind legs

Indonesian native chickens consist of indigenous chickens and a chickens originated from abroad which adapted and grow in Indonesia. Based on 120 respondents who have been interviewed, there were seven types chicken commonly raised, namely: kampong, bangkok, arab, kate, pelung, gaga’, and birma. People commonly raised native chickens for religion, food, ornamental, and trading purposes. Six of those seven native chickens (86%) are reared for trading, five types (71%) for ornamental, and four types (57%) for egg and meat production purpose. Three types chicken (43%) were well-known had the benefits for eggs production. The religious category was the highest ICF value (1.00) followed by food (meat and eggs production) category with ICF value by 0.98. Arab chicken had the highest Fidelity Level (FL) value (70.96%) as egg and meat producer. Egg production of arab chicken reached 22.50 egg/period and it was the highest productivity of all experimental chickens. Average flock size per household was 11.31 with a population around 225 chickens/household. Kampong chicken was the most popular to be raised (79.16%) followed by bangkok (40.00%), kate (13.33%), gaga’ (10.00%), arab (8.33%), pelung (5.83%), and birma (3.33%). Kampong chicken is a food source and highly used for religion purpose had 38.23% of FL valu
Analisis Ekologi Perikanan sebagai Indikator Kerentanan Nelayan Asli Papua Kabupaten Manokwari, Papua Barat
The native fishermen are distributed in Manokwari coastal and have currently limited access to fisheries resource. This condition give vulnerable risk to potential utilization of fisheries resources to face vulnerable risk of local fishermen base on ecologycal aspect to take a wisely step to the problem. This research was conducted in April-September in 8 coastal district in Manokwari Regency. The result showed that native fishermen is medium vulnerable with value 0.57 to the number of catches, the composition of the fish and the fishing ground distance area. If this condition continues it will affect the existence of the status of local fishermen wich needs a partisanship in favor of the independence of local fishermen
Efektivitas Ivermectin dan Albendazole dalam Melawan Ostertagia pada Anakan Domba di Bogor, Indonesia
Giving a half-dose of an anthelmintic is a simple method for detecting resistance in parasites infesting small ruminants. When a single anthelmintic fails in native sheep from Indonesia, a combination of anthelmintics from different chemical classes with different mechanism of action is an alternative parasite-control strategy. This study compared the anthelmintic effectiveness of ivermectin (IVM) and albendazole (ABZ) have given either separately as a full-dose or half-dose or co-administered to sheep naturally infected with Ostertagia. Twelve sheep from Bogor, Indonesia were divided into six groups based on the anthelmintic treatment: half-dose IVM, full-dose IVM, half-dose ABZ, full-dose ABZ, combined (half-dose IVM + half-dose ABZ), and control groups. The treatment effectiveness was determined using the Faecal egg count reduction (FECR) on before and after 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, and 42 days of treatment. FECR of half-dose IVM, full-dose IVM, half-dose ABZ, full-dose ABZ, and both combined ranged from 78-100%, 96-100%, -71-89%, -521-64%, and 54-100%, respectively. The results showed that full-dose IVM was the most effective to against Ostertagia until 42 days and followed the combined that effective until 28 days. Half-dose and full-dose ABZ weren’t effective to against Ostertagia
Manipulasi Agronomi Bunga Iles-iles (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) untuk Meningkatkan Produksi Biji
Corm of iles-iles (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) is extracted for glucomannan production, a material that is widely used in medicinal, food, and beverage industries. Increasing demand on glucomannan promotes fast expansion of planting area in Indonesia, however, seed availability is limited. The objective of the experiment was to study corm age, planting distance, and planting depth in order to enhance seed production in A. muelleri. Two experiments were conducted under paranet of 65% in Leuwikopo Experimental Farm, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) from June-November 2015. First experiment used 0- (bulbils), 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-year-old corms. Second experiment used flowering 3-year-old corms, arranged by factorial of planting distance (0 × 0 cm and 50 × 50 cm) and planting depth (0 and 5 cm in depth). Results showed that flowering of A. muelleri was dependent on corm age, 96% of 3-year-old corms produced flower but none of the 1- and 4-years-old corms produced flower, whereas 8% of 2-year-old corms produced flower. Planting distance did not affect flower growth, while planting at a depth of 5 cm enhanced seed production. Present experiments imply that application of large 3-year-old corms, planting in dense population and at depth of 5 cm could enhance seed production of A. muelleri. It needs further investigation on seed quality from flowering of present treatments

The experiment was carried out to observe the effect of adding lemuru fish oil in immunized laying hens diet on the health status of chicken through leucocyte profile, stress index, erythrocyte profile, and malonildehyde concentration in liver and spleen. The research design was completely randomized and the obtained data was analized with analysis of variance and continued with Tukey’s Post Hoc test for differences. The experiment used thirty 18 weeks hens ISA brown strain and were divided into five groups. The groups were: A (immunization with lipase and control diet); B (immunization with lipase, control diet + 1% lemuru fish oil); C (immunization with lipase, control diet + 2% lemuru fish oil); D (immunization with lipase, control diet + 3% lemuru fish oil); and E (unimmunized and control diet). The immunization was repeated three times with four weeks interval, blood was collected and analyzed two weeks after immunization and the malonyldehyde concentration in liver and spleen was measured two weeks after third immunization. The results showed that there was no significant difference (P>0.05) on all variables. The conclusion of this research that lemuru fish oil supplementation did not affect the health status of immunized hen
Penentuan Dosis Optimum Pemupukan N, P, dan K pada Sorgum (Sorghum bicolor [L.] Moench)
Development of sorghum processing industries is essential in expanding sorghum market as wells as it’s an economic value. Fertilizer is needed in planting. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium availabilities are the most limiting factors for maximum growth and yield. Sorghum (Numbu Variety) was planted to evaluate the maximum and optimum rates of N, P, and K fertilizers. The research was conducted in Cikarawang field, Darmaga, Bogor from MarchJuly 2015 with multi-nutrient response method. Each experiment evaluated different rates of N, P, and K fertilizer with randomized complete block design and three replications. The fertilizer rates were 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200% of recommendation rate (100% N = 120 kg N ha-1, 100% P = 36 kg P2O5 ha-1, and 100% K = 90 kg K2O ha-1). The result showed relative yields of sorghum increased quadratically based on y = -0,0015x2 + 0,4011x + 67,571 for N, y = -0,0012x2 + 0,2917x + 78,457 for P2O5, and y = -0,001x2 + 0,2777x + 74,457 for K2O. The maximum rate for each nutrient was 160,4-43,7-124,9 kg N-P2O5-K2O ha-1. Fertilizer recommendation based on P threshold (no P) was 36,7-0,0-13,7 kg N-P2O5-K2O ha-1, K threshold (no K) was 22,0-0,0-0,0 kg N-P2O5-K2O ha-1, and no fertilizer needed on N threshold. The optimum rate fertilizer based on the yield vs. cost rule, therefore, the most economical recommendation would be 160,4-43,7-124,9 kg N-P2O5-K2O ha-1
