    Isolation and Capability of Dark Septate Endophyte Against Mancozeb Fungicide

    Mancozeb is a group member of dithiocarbamat fungicides that most widely applied in the field. The use of mancozeb causes residues that have negative effects on agricultural production system and on agricultural environment. This research aimed to obtain dark septate endophyte (DSE) fungal isolates that are tolerant to mancozeb fungicide. The study was consisted of three steps, i.e., the isolation of DSE fungi from chili roots, the effect of DSE fungal isolates on chili seeds, and the growth ability of DSE isolates on medium supplemented with mancozeb. Thirteen DSE fungal isolates were isolated from chilli pepper roots and grown in the field assumed to be contaminated by pesticides. The isolates of DSE fungi caused the growth of chili seeds were normal and abnormal. Seven DSE isolates were able to grow well at PDA medium suplemented with mancozeb at concentrations of 100, 200, 400, and 800 ppm with different levels of relative growth inhibition. Mancozeb on PDA medium influenced the mycelial growth and colony color of DSE fungal isolates. The biomass of DSE fungal isolates were reduced when they were grown at malt extract broth (MEB) medium suplemented various levels of mancozeb.     Karimunjawa National Park was designated as a Marine National Park area since the enactment of Kepdirjen PHKA No. SK. 28/IV-SET/2012. The marine tourism utilization zone covers 2.45% of the total area of TNKJ. One of the great potential resources that is utilized in tourism utilization zone is coral reefs. Economic valuations of coral reefs are considered necessary as an approach to show the benefits of coral reef ecosystem management policy making and provide useful information for marine tourism development. Marine ecotourism activities in TNKJ are snorkeling and diving. To know the factors influencing marine ecotourism activity of TNKJ, the Travel Cost Method was used to presume the consumer surplus. This information is used as an input or consideration to manage the coral reef resources for marine ecotourism activity of TNKJ. Based on correlation and regression analysis, marine ecotourism demand is influenced by travel cost, age, education, income, gender, long trip, and distance. Marine snorkeling tourism are significantly (α=0,05) influenced by gender and duration of travel with coefficient values of -1,2325 and -0,1942. The demand model of snorkeling tours to travel cost is y = 11.831.242,4107x-7,8684 with consumer surplus of IDR94549/person. Diving marine tourism is significantly (α=0.05) influenced by travel cost, trip length, and distance with coefficient value of -1.23E-06, -0.0947, and 0.0033. The demand model to travel cost is y = 2.363.272,7634x-0,9236 with consumer surplus of IDR29254/person. Based on these results, marine ecotourism of snorkeling and diving of TNKJ has the potential to be developed in economic terms through the determination of entrance fee.     Pertumbuhan Bibit Cendana (Santalum album L.) dengan Inang Primer pada Intensitas Radiasi Berbeda

    The primary host of sandalwood seeds (Santalum album L.) which is widely used in the nursery process is Alternanthera sp. However, the local name given to this primary host is same as that given to Portulaca sp. The same local name for these two-different species may cause mistakes in the use of the primary host during the cultivating process of sandalwood. Meanwhile, the ability of the Portulaca sp. as the primary host is unknown. Information about the right radiation intensity of the sandalwood seedling is still limited. The study aims to analyze the growth of sandalwood seedlings grown with primary host of Alternanthera sp. and Portulaca sp. at different radiation intensities. The completely randomized design with two treatments factor were used, namely differences in shade levels (without shade, 25, 50, and 75%) and differences in the types of primary hosts. The result showed that the primary hosts of Alternanthera sp. have the best growth for sandalwood seeds compared to sandalwood seedlings planted with Portulaca sp. The shading must be adjusted to the type of primary host. Sandalwood seeds grown with Alternanthera sp. as primary hosts grow best at 50% and 75% paranet shade conditions, in radiation range of 9.86–12.17 MJ/m2/day. Sandalwood seeds planted with Portulaca sp. as a primary host grow best in 25% paranet shade, that is at average radiation of 13.62 MJ/m2/day.     Land susceptibility to degradation is characterized by the loss of topsoil due to erosion which is considered as a threat to agricultural productivity. Information about land sensitivity to erosion is crucial in determining the appropriate soil and water conservation techniques to avoid land degradation. This study, which was located in the Gandul Sub-Watershed, aims to analyze the level of land sensitivity to erosion in highland agricultural areas. Data analysis was carried out spatially using land system and land-cover maps. Soil and water conservation efforts were determined based on the land function and sensitivity. The land sensitivity to erosion in the Gandul Sub-watershed was categorized into 3 levels which were moderate (3.9%), high (95%), and very high (0.8%). There were various directions for Gandul Sub-Watershed management by considering the level of sensitivity of the land and the function of the area. Creating a ridge is one of the soils and water conservation practices that has been implemented for a long time by local communities as a soil erosion prevention.   Keywords: agriculture, erosion, Gandul, sensitivit

    Upaya Penghilangan Rasa Pahit Tepung Biji Kelor (Moringa oleifera) dan Aplikasinya untuk Pangan Fungsional

    Moringa oleifera is a plant that has many benefits in each part. Moringa seeds have high nutrient content but they have not been used as food ingredients because it contains cyanigenic glycoside and a bitter taste. This study aims to obtain the best method in eliminating the bitter taste and cyanide of moringa seeds, analyzing its proximate nutritional levels and antioxidant capacity, and the level of acceptance when it’s applied to cookie products. This study used different types of soaking solution (water, 3.5% NaCl, 1N CH3COOH solution, and 0.5% NaHCO3) and boiling temperature (70°C, boiling water temperature (± 97°C), and pressure boiling (±115°C)). Flour with NaHCO3 immersion treatment continued by pressurized boiling for 35 minutes was chosen to be the best flour because it had the lowest cyanide content, reduced bitter taste, and the highest FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) values (33.40±1.22 mg/kg; 3.40±1.24 mg/kg; and 58.70±2.67 mg AEAC/g) compared with untreated moringa seed flour (152.15±0.95 mg/kg ;10.29±2.92 mg/kg; and 17.43±1.22 mg AEAC/g). The selected flour was used as a substitute for flour (0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%) in cookies making. Sensory hedonic rating analysis on cookies used 60 untrained panelists. Substitution up to 30% overall did not have a significant difference in acceptance compared to control (0%) except for color attribute.     Pengawetan Bambu dengan Metode Boucherie

    Bamboo is known as fast-growing species that could be derived into various products. However, bamboo is suspectible to the wood destroying organisms.  Preservation is one way to improve the service life of bamboo. This study aimed to analyze the effect of differences in anatomical structures of betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper Backer) and andong bamboo (Gigantochloa pseudoarundinaceae (Steudel) Widjaja), and the effect of pressure on the flow time and retention of entiblu preservative in the Boucherie method. Bamboo stems with diameters of 10-14 cm were cut in 1; 1,5; 2; and 2,5 m lengths. The bamboo stems with moisture content of around 30% were preserved by 5% of entiblu preservative solution. The data observed were the flow time of the preservative entiblu solution from base of the stem until dripping on the top of the bamboo culm, and the retention of preservative. The anatomical structure of the bamboo trunk before preserving was also observed. The results showed that the average flow times in andong bamboo and betung bamboo were 37.75 minutes and 41.50 minutes, respectively. The average retention of entiblu solution on andong bamboo was 3.49 kg/m³ and on betung bamboo was 3.60 kg/m³.     Klasifikasi Madu Berdasarkan Jenis Lebah (Apis dorsata versus Apis mellifera) Menggunakan Spektroskopi Ultraviolet dan Kemometrika

    In this research, spectral data in UV region (200-400 nm) alongside PCA and SIMCA chemometrics were used to classify two types of honey obtained from different honeybees (Apis dorsata versus Apis mellifera). A total of 200 Durian monofloral honey samples from Apis dorsata and 120 samples for Longan monofloral honey from Apis mellifera were prepared. Therefore, spectral data were recorded based on the following parameters: range of acquisition 200-400 nm, transmittance mode, and interval 1 nm. In addition, the original spectra were transformed using three different algorithms: moving average smoothing with 11 segments, standard normal variate (SNV), and Savitzky-Golay 1st derivative with 11 segments and 2 ordos. The result of PCA using transformed spectra in the range of 250-400 nm explained the possibility of clearly separating Durian and Longan honey along the PC1 axis, with 98% variance, while the SIMCA showed a 100% proper classification rate for all prediction samples. In addition, several important wavelengths were identified alongside high x-loadings values at 270 and 300 nm. These results were closely related to the absorbance of important phenolic compounds in honey, including benzoic, salicylic, and aryl-alyphatic acids. The results demonstrate a probability to establish simple and low-cost honey authentication systems, using UV spectroscopy and chemometrics on free-chemical in sample preparations.     Peningkatan Produktivitas Kopi Arabika Gayo I dan II Berbasis Aplikasi Biourine dan Biokompos

    Gayo Highlands region had a potential area for the development of Arabica coffee because of the topographical conditions of the land that support the cultivation of Gayo Arabica coffee, but production of plants ranges from 650–750 kg ha-1, lower than some existing varieties which reach 1,5–2 tons ha-1. One way to increase production is the application of biourine and biocompost. This study aimed to determine the effect of the application of biourine and biocompost technology packages on the growth and production of Gayo I and II Arabica coffee plants. This study used a factorial separate plot design (RPT) consisting of Arabica Gayo I (A1) and Gayo II (A2) with a dose of NPK 150 kg ha-1 (farmer/control treatment) (C1), 150 mL-1 (biourine) + 5 ton ha-1 (biocompost) + NPK 100 kg ha-1 (C2), 125 mL plant-1 (biourine) + 7.5 ton ha-1 (biocompost) + NPK 100 kg ha-1 (C3), and 100 mL plant-1 (biocompost) + 10 ton ha-1 (biocompost) + NPK 100 kg ha-1 (C4). The results of the observations were analyzed by ANOVA and 95% DMRT. The results showed that the doses of biourine and biocompost fertilizers did not have interaction with Gayo I and Gayo II Arabica coffee, but for independent treatment of biourine and bicompost fertilizers, the dosage significantly affected the production of Gayo Arabica coffee. Application of 100 mL ha-1(biourine) + 10 tons ha-1 (biocompost) + 100 kg ha-1 NPK (C4) was able to increase the Gayo Arabica Coffee production by 41% when compared with NPK fertilizers of 150 kg ha-1 without biourine and biocompost (C1).     Recently, the interest of academic and research institutions in sustainable agric-supply chain management (SASCM) has risen. This fact can be seen from the number of papers published as special issues. Agric-supply chain management is a substance deepening from conventional supply chain management which is discussing integration of economical, environmental, and social aspects to reach a goal of organization. The objective of this research was to describe the state of the art about this topic and future research issues. The number of papers analyzed were 111 articles published from 2003–2020. The articles were obtained from scientific provider such as Science direct, EBSCO, Cross-Reff, Researchgate, DOAJ, Academia.Edu, and Google Scholar. In this research, we cluster (SASCM) to several items such as supply chain management, sustainable supply chain management, and sustainable supply chain management for agricultural product. The content analysis was used to describe the state of the arts and novelty. The result of the study show that it is critical for the actors of agricultural business to apply sustainability concepts including economic, social, environmental, and institution on the systems of agricultural supply chain based on industry 4.0 approach to reach a sustainable business process.     Model Simulasi PertumbuhanTanaman Jagung Manis Hibrida pada Jarak Tanam yang Berbeda

    A sweet corn model was developed to simulate the growth and development of hybrid-sweet corn under different crop denssities. This research is comparing the data of the simulation model and the actual observation data in the field, which is then presented in graphical form. This model was conducted on six treatment combinations between three types of spacing and two varieties. The simulation model requires meteorological data (average temperature, humidity, precipitation, and radiation), soil water data, and crop chracteristics. There are five of the six plant combinations which graph show that the model is able to simulate the total maize corn biomass every week.
