The Fruit Characteristics of Ambon Forest Nutmeg (Myristica fatua Houtt) and Banda Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt)
Ambon Forest nutmeg (Myristica fatua Houtt) is one of the endemic plants in Indonesia. The morphological characteristic of Ambon Forest nutmeg is slightly different from that of Banda nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt) i.e., it is not used as spices, but its oil is used as a lamp oil. This study aimed to determine the chemical components and essential oils of Ambon Forest nutmeg derived from its seeds, mace, and flesh compared to Banda nutmeg. Extractions of essential oils were performed using a steam hydro-distillation. Analysis of chemical compositions and contents of essential oil was carried out using a Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) instrument and SNI 06-2388-2006 method. The essential oil contents in Ambon Forest nutmeg were relatively low, i.e., 0.63% in the seeds, 0.30% in the mace, and 0.04% in the flesh compared to Banda nutmeg i.e., 1% in the seeds, 40% in the mace, and 3.5% in the fruit flesh. The chemical compositions of essential oils showed that M. fatua Houtt contained 12 compounds in the seeds, 24 compounds in the mace, and 17 compounds in the fruit flesh, while for Banda Nutmeg, the contents of essential oils were found 18 compounds in the seeds, 10 compounds in the mace, and 15 compounds in the fruit flesh. M. fatua Houtt contained the highest Copaene, i.e., 28.41% in the seeds, 10.42% in the mace, and 23.33% in the fruit flesh. Myristicin, as the main marker compound of nutmeg oil, was also found in Ambon Forest nutmeg i.e., 1.3% in the seeds, 1.16% in the mace, and 5.19% in the fruit flesh. However, these results showed lower contents when compared to Banda nutmeg with Myristicin contents of 8.72% in the seeds, 10.14% in the mace, and 10.46% in the fruit flesh.

Dampak Penggunaan Fungisida Sintetik pada Kelimpahan Cendawan Endofit Tanaman Padi
Application of fungicides to control rice diseases potentially have adverse effect on non target organisms including endophytic fungi. Unfortunately, information of fungicide effect on endophytic fungi on rice is still limited. The purpose of this research was to study the diversity and abundance of endophytic fungi on rice plant because of application of synthetic fungicides. There were two treatments in this study: non systemic fungicide (mankozeb) and systemic fungicide (difenoconazole) which were compared to control (without fungicide). Isolation of endophytic fungi and application of fungicides were conducted every week started at aged of 3 to 10 weeks after planting. Variables observed were total segment of rice colonized by endophytic fungi, colonization frequency of endophytic fungi, continued by identification and analysis of the diversity of endophytic fungi. This study showed that there was an increase in colonization of endophytic fungi with an increase of plant ages. The diversity of endophytic fungi was higher in stems than in leaves with the value of H\u27 is 0.00-1.35 and 0.00-0.98 respectively. The most common types of endophytic fungi appear in each isolation of rice segments were Acremonium, Curvularia, Fusarium, Helminthosporium, Nigrospora, Penicillium, and Mucor. Both fungicides do not significantly affect the percentage of colonization and diversity of endophytic fungi. At the beginning of planting (4-6 MST) there was a decrease in the percentage of endophytic fungal colonization in the stem. From the percentage of colonization of each genus of fungi, Nigrospora and Fusarium decreased significantly with difenoconazole on the stem during the vegetative phase.

Analisis Mutu Organoleptik dan Kadar Air Ikan Roa (Hemiramphus sp.) Asap dengan Metode Pengasapan Berbeda
Fish is one source of high protein and included a commodity which is easily to decay. The way to inhibit the decay process of fish is fumigation. One of the smoked fishes that is often consumed by Gorontalo people is smoked Roa fish (Hemiramphus sp.). Smoked Roa fish is processed with traditional way through burning using woods as the fuel. Simply or conventionally fish processing like that has several flaws such as less protected of the sanitation aspects in the processing protocol. In order to improve the traditional processed product of Gorontalo, that is a smoked Roa fish, a new breakthrough in making smoked Roa fish was made by using the liquid smoke method. Liquid smoke contains compound of phenol and organic acids that are antibacterial and antioxidant compounds. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of using different fumigation methods on organoleptic quality (appearance, smell, taste, and texture) of smoked Roa fish. The fumigation methods used were fumigation with liquid smoke and fumigation with traditional method. This research used a completely randomized design with 2 treatments and 3 times of replications. The results showed that liquid smoked Roa fish were preferred by panelists, compared to traditional smoked Roa fish. Liquid smoked Roa fish had a bright appearance, the smoke color was spread evenly (uniform), the smell of soft smoke, delicious fish taste, and hard texture that were different from traditional smoked Roa fish which appearance tended to be dull, the color of the smoke was not evenly distributed, the smoke taste in the fish was also quite sharp. Liquid smoked Roa fish also had a lower water content than traditional smoked Roa fish. Statistical tests showed that the fumigation method had a significant effect on the smell and water content of smoked Roa fish.

Optimasi Suhu dan Waktu Deasetilasi Kitin Berbasis Selongsong Maggot (Hermetia ilucens) Menjadi Kitosan
As Black Soldier Fly farming has become an emerging trend in Indonesia there is a new opportunity to take advantage from the waste generated from the activity. One of them is the exuviae, which is resulted from the emergence of the fly and it has a high chitin content. Chitin from BSF exuviae have low Cristalinity Indexes. Hence, it shows a promising potential to be processed to produce a new biopolimer. Therefore, converting chitin from BSF exuviae into chitosan using deacetylation process was studied. The researched variables were temperature and the duration of the process, which were studied at 50, 60, 70, and 80°C for 12 hours and 8, 10, 12, and 14 hours at 60°C, respectively. Chitosan produced in the temperature of 60, 70, and 80°C has met the standard quality, and the best duration of deacetylation process was 8 hours. The solubility test in acetic acid (2%) showed that chitosan solubility was increased with the increase of temperature, while it decreased as the duration of the process becomes longer. Moreover, the degree of deacetylation showed that chitosan was produced with the best quality in 80°C of temperature (75.98%) and 8 hours of deacetylation process (71.12%).

Aktivitas NADP(H) Oksidoreduktase pada Kultur Sel Kina (Cinchona ledgeriana Moens) Terelisitasi
Cinchona ledgeriana Moens is an industrial plant producing secondary metabolite quinoline alkaloids. To maintain and moreover, to increase the quinoline production especially quinine, in vitro culture system through cell culture could be a potential alternative. If the use of elicitor in cell culture can increase the production of a secondary metabolite, the activity of the enzymes involved in the biosynthetic pathway of the secondary metabolite in question might be increasing. This study aimed to examine the activity of NADPH oxidoreductase in the elicitated cell culture of C. ledgeriana and to evaluate the correlation between the activity of this enzyme and the level of quinine production. The cell cultures of Cinchona were treated with abscisic acid (ABA) or paclobutrazol (PBZ), combined with sucrose, sorbitol, or mannitol in Wood Plant (WP) media, for 7 weeks on a shaker. The quinine concentration was determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the enzyme activity was measured using fluorometry. The results showed that the highest enzyme activity was found in the P7M cells (PBZ 7 mg/L + mannitol 5.3 g/L + sucrose 20 g/L), followed by the A3S cells (ABA 3 mg/L + sorbitol 5.3 g/L + sucrose 20 g/L). These results correspond to their production level of the quinine alkaloids. The lowest enzyme activity was found in the cultures without elicitor. The increase of NADP(H) enzyme activity in the P7M and A3S treatments were 13.5 and 8.5%, respectively, compared to that in the control cells.

Efektivitas Campuran Ekstrak Daun Srikaya (Annona squamosal L.) dan Rimpang Kunyit (Curcuma domestica Val.) pada Mortalitas Larva Spodoptera litura F. (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)
Spodoptera litura F. larvae (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) are polyphagous insects that cause damages to many types of plantations and horticulture that need to be protected. One of environmentally friendly method to protect ecological balance is the use of botanical insecticides whose bioactive compounds come from plant extracts. This study used a mixture of two plant extracts from A. squamosa leaves extract and C. domestica rhizome exstract (the mixed of experimental extracts). The mixed of experimental extracts are synergistic so that they are more effective and need a lower concentration to cause the mortality of S. litura larvae than the use of a single extract. The aims of the research were to know the efficacy of the mixed of experimental extracts on the mortality of S. litura larvae and determine the value of LC50 and LC90 extract test on its mortality. The initial and efficacy test were conducted by bait dip into the mixed of experimental extracts. The mortality data were analyzed using ANAVA, then continued by Duncan test and Probit analysis. The results of this research showed that the mixed of experimental extracts were effective to kill S. litura larvae. The calculated result of LC50 and LC90 showed that the LC50 value of the experimental extracts on the second and the third instar larvae were 5.252 ppm and 10.559 ppm, respectively, and the LC90 value for both instar larvae were 11.124 ppm and 13.638 ppm, respectively. It could be concluded that the mixed of experimental extracts is effective in S. litura larvae mortality and more effective in the mortality of the second instar larvae than that of the third instar larvae. Therefore, this test extract mixture can be developed further in a greenhouse to evaluate the effectiveness in the mortality of S. litura larvae which can be used as an alternative to controlling S. litura larvae with an environmentally friendly material in farmers.

Pengaruh Perubahan Iklim pada Musim Tanam dan Produktivitas Jagung (Zea mays L.) di Kabupaten Malang
Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the agricultural commodities used as food and has quite a lot of benefits. The highest Indonesian production data is found in East Java. Malang Regency is one of the highest maize-producing areas in East Java. However, the production and productivity of maize in Malang Regency has fluctuated. One of the causes of unstable maize production in Indonesia is climate change due to global warming. Climate change that affect the length of the rainy and dry season is change in rainfall patterns. The purpose of this research is evaluating whether climate change occurred in 1998-2017 in Malang Regency and to know the impact of climate change on the growing season and corn productivity in Malang Regency. The study was conducted from February to May 2018 in Donomulyo, Dau, and Kasembon sub-district, Malang Regency. The research was carried out by survey method using primary and secondary data. The results showed that the climate in the North Malang Regency had undergone a change, which was marked by the increase in rainfall and monthly temperature and changes in climate type, while in the South it was marked by the decrease in monthly rainfall, monthly rainy days, and temperatures. The elements of rainfall and rainy days do not affect maize productivity, while the temperature has a corelation and has a significant effect on the maize productivity. Temperature has a positive effect on maize productivity and a model of estimating the effect of temperature on productivity was obtained, namely Y = -38552+1836 X. The impact of climate change is the occurrence of a shift in the beginning of the rainy and the dry seasons which cause changes in the maize planting season.

Kajian Risiko Aflatoksin M1 dalam Produk Formula untuk Bayi dan Anak Usia 0-36 Bulan
Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) is a carcinogenic compound found in milk-based products including infant and young children formula. The aim of this study was to determine the risk characterization of infants and young children to AFM1 through the consumption of formula products. For this purpose, the Estimated Daily Intake (EDI) for infants and young children was calculated by multiplying AFM1 concentration in 44 infant formulas, 53 advanced infant formulas, and 16 growing up formulas with consumption data. The concentration of AFM1 in these formula products were retrieved from food registration in Indonesian FDA from January 2015-June 2018. The average concentration of AFM1 in infant formula, advanced infant formulas, and growing up formula (lower bound-upper bound) were 0.0226-0.0335; 0.0418-0.0510; and 0.0038-0.0123 ng/g, respectively. The average EDI of AFM1 for infants and young children aged 0-6 months, 6-12 months, and 1-3 years based on individual consumption were 0.260-0.386, 0.282-0.343, 0.029-0.092 ng/kg body weight (BW)/day. The average EDI of AFM1 for infants and young children aged 0-6 months, 6-12 months, and 1-3 years based on the recommended consumption by food producer (lower bound-upper bound) were 0.403-0.598; 0.663-0.809; 0.031-0.098 ng/kgBW/day. The average hazard index (HI) values for infants aged 0-6 months and 6-12 months (lower bound-upper bound) were greater than 1 (one), i.e., 1.94-2.88 and 3.20-3.90, which indicates there is a health risk. However hazard index value for young children aged 1-3 years (lower bound-upper bound) were less than 1 (one), i.e., 0.15-0.47, which indicates a lower health risk.

Respons Genotipe Kedelai sebagai Tanaman Sela pada Tumpang Sari dengan Ubi Kayu
Soybean development to intercropping is one of the opportunities to increase soybean planting area. Each soybean variety has different responses to intercropping so it is required to study soybean varieties that are suitable or adaptive to intercropping environments. Therefore, a research was conducted to determine the response of soybean genotypes in intercropping with cassava. The research was conducted at the Jambegede Research Station, Malang in February to December 2018, in two environments, namely intercropping (L1) and monoculture (L2), with two planting times, namely three weeks (T1) and 4 months (T2) after cassava planting. Twelve promising lines and three varieties (Dena 1, Dena 2, and Grobogan) were used as research materials. A completely randomized block design with three replications was used to arrange the treatments in each environment. The results showed that the responses of each soybean genotype tested as intercrops on intercropping system with cassava were varied, depending on the soybean planting time. GH-5 and GH-6 soybean genotypes are suitable for the first intercrop (T1), while GH-3 are suitable as the second intercrops (T2) in intercropping system with cassava + Soybean, with higher stress tolerance index (STI) and lower weighted sensitivity index (WSI) than the other genotypes tested. Based on the land equivalent ratio (LER), intercropping of cassava with GH-5, GH-6, or GH-3 soybean genotypes was advantageous (RKL>1.0).
