    Pengaruh Media pada Karakter Biokimia dan Keberhasilan Pencangkokan Tanaman Teh (Camellia sinensis L. (O.) Kuntze) pada Klon TRI 2025

    The large number of old, damaged, or dead tea plants cause the plant population per hectare to be low that eventually decreases the productivity. Propagation using the transplantation technique is used for embroidery because it has the advantage of a shorter immature plant period and higher seed size so that it can compensate for the surrounding plants but the weakness of transplantation is low success rate. This study aims to 1) determine the morphological changes of root transplantation and biochemistry on TRI 2025 clone transplantation using cocopeat, husk charcoal, and moss, 2) determine the success rate of transplantation in each medium. This research was conducted in August 2018–January 2019 at the Pagilaran production garden, PT. Pagilaran, Batang, Central Java. Field experiments were prepared using a single factor Completely Randomized Environment Design (CRD). The factors tested were the type of transplantation media, namely the media of husk charcoal, cocopeat, and moss. Observations were made on transplantation root morphology, levels of glucose, sucrose, and total sugar in the transplanted stem bark and the concentration of auxin, gibberellin, and cytokinin in the transplant roots. The data obtained were then analyzed using variance and if there was a significant difference between treatments, the Duncan multiple distance test (DMRT) was continued at the 95% confidence level. The results showed that the type of media had no significant effect on the ability to form glucose, sucrose, and total sugar in the bark. The development of root morphology of cocopeat media was seen to be the highest. The ratio of cytokinin/auxin in cocopeat was the lowest but the highest levels of cytokinin and auxin were found in moss, while cocopeat had the highest level of gibberellin. The highest transplanting success rate was found in moss medium with 58.33%, cocopeat and husk charcoal media had the same success rate, namely 41.60%.   Keywords: transplantation, biochemistry, media, success, TRI 202

    Urban greenery plays an important role in providing a biodiversity habitat of vegetation and birds as biotics in the urban ecosystem.  The biodiversity can show attractions in Yogyakarta city as a tourism destination in Indonesia. This research was conducted on three types of roads of the secondary artery (SA), secondary collector (SC), and local (L). The bird diversity depended on tree greenery as its habitat and food source. This research aimed (1) to analyze bird diversity on the roadside greenery in Yogyakarta City, and (1) to reveal the attraction of birds on the urban greenery as a tourism attraction. The sample units were selected by the method of stratified random sampling. The bird observation was used by the method of transect line conducted on the three categories of roads in Yogyakarta City. The bird diversity was analyzed by Shannon-Wiener\u27s (H\u27) index diversity, and bird activity was descriptively analyzed. The number of birds found in the greenery was 685 belong to 12 species. The diversity indexes (H\u27) of the birds on the roads of the secondary artery (SA), secondary collector (SC), and local (L) categories were 0.697 (low), 1.001 (medium), and 1.246 (medium). The index shows the equal quality of the bird attractions in the city. The low-medium of index value should be improved to reach a high H\u27. The improvement should be carried out by landscape planning for urban tourism through planting food source trees or habitat trees for birds on the urban greenery of Yogyakarta. The strength of the urban attraction of birds was also supported by species diversity, conservation status, bird activity, habitat trees, and the ecological function of urban trees on the roadside greenery of Yogyakarta city.     Demand for food products is inevitable, this condition is related to food products as a staple food for the sustainability of human life. In Indonesia, the demand for food depends very much on the needs of the people. The purpose of this study is to analyze food demand in Indonesia which is divided into 4 categories of regions: rich cities, poor cities, rich villages, and poor villages need through research that can be obtained about getting assistance in accordance with the consumption demand of people in Indonesia. The research method used secondary data with panel data types obtained from SUSENAS data. The analytical method used to estimate the demand system was through econometrics demand, namely the QUAIDS model and then the data were processed using the SAS program. The results showed a comparison of the total number of households allocated specifically for food if sorted out, namely poor villages were higher then followed by poor cities, rich cities, and rich villages. When there is a change in income, poor rural households and poor cities when the public still responds by allocating a large part of their budgets to very basic trade such as other food and tobacco, rice, other oils, and household fats in rich villages and rich cities provide more responses to allocating their incomes to the trade in meat, fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, milk, and processed foods.   Keywords: Quadaric Almost Ideal System, income elasticity, consumption, demand foo

    Potensi Bakteri Endofit sebagai Agens Hayati untuk Mengendalikan Penyakit Blas pada Tanaman Padi

    Bakteri endofit merupakan salah satu kelompok mikrob yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai agensia pengendalian hayati penyakit pada tanaman padi. Bakteri endofit yang diisolasi dari tanaman padi varietas lokal di Jambi telah diteliti mampu mengendalikan penyakit hawar daun bakteri pada tanaman padi. Selanjutnya diteliti potensi bakteri endofit tersebut dalam mengendalikan penyakit blas yang sebabkan oleh Pyricularia oryzae dan pengaruhnya pada produksi padi. Isolat bakteri endofit diuji daya hambatnya terhadap P. oryzae menggunakan metode biakan ganda. Isolat yang mampu menghambat pertumbuhan mikrob tersebut secara in vitro, selanjutnya diujikan pada tanaman padi varietas Cisadane. Akar bibit padi direndam dalam suspensi bakteri endofit selama 6 jam kemudian ditanam pada media tanah dan pupuk kandang steril. Patogen diinokulasikan dengan menyemprotkan suspensi konidia mikrob pada permukaan daun padi pada 14 hari setelah tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 10 isolat bakteri endofit mampu menghambat pertumbuhan P. oryzae sebesar 26,56-79,69%. Perlakuan bakteri endofit pada bibit padi sebelum tanam mampu menghambat keparahan penyakit blas daun 23,90-65,42% dan blas malai 58,47-96,46%, serta meningkatkan persentase gabah terisi.   Kata kunci: pengendalian hayati, padi, Pyricularia oryza

    Siklus Hidup Spodoptera frugiperda Dengan Pemberian Pakan Kangkung dan Daun Bawang di Laboratorium

      Spodoptera frugiperda was found to have entered Indonesia and damaged maize crops. There is a concern that climate change in Indonesia will cause these pests to migrate to other crops besides corn, such as kale and leeks. This research was conducted to observe the life cycle of S. frugiperda with feed treatment of kale leaves, leeks and corn leaves as a control. The larvae came from corn fields that were infested by S. frugiperda and were cultured in the laboratory. The variables observed were larva length, head diameter, pupa length, number of eggs, sex ratio, and time to complete one cycle. The life cycle of S. frugiperda varies between 37 and 47 days. Kale leaf feed is a good feed for the growth of S. frugiperda compared to the other two feeds, while corn leaf is good in fecundity.   Keywords: corn, fecundity, growth, life cycle, sex rati

    The development of rice irrigated farming is constrained by the conversion of land agricultural to non-agricultural. Therefore, policy to develop upland rice production in dryland and rainfed lowland is increasingly being implemented. Efforts to expand the application of technological innovations as a lever of upland rice production have intensified by introducing new superior varieties of upland rice. This research aims to analyze farmers\u27 attitudes and satisfaction levels with introducing upland rice to attributes based. The location of this research is in Tegalgiri Village, Nogosari District, Boyolali Regency. Primary data were obtained through a survey method of 35 farmers who planted the Rindang 1, Rindang 2, Inpago 10, and Inpago 12 varieties. Farmer attitudes were analyzed using the Fishbein Multi-attribute Model, while farmer satisfaction level was analyzed using the customer satisfaction index (CSI). The results are the attributes "production" and "resistance to pests and diseases" were agronomic performance which was the most essential and primary consideration for farmers in choosing varieties. Farmers have a positive attitude towards the four new superior varieties. The meaning is that farmers want to adopt and plant the new superior varieties of upland rice. Farmers\u27 satisfaction levels are in the "satisfied" to "very satisfied" category of the four new superior varieties.     The 16S rRNA Analysis and Enzyme Screening of Bacillus from Rhizosphere Soil of Lombok Island

    Bacillus are commonly found in nature, especially in soil and food. It has the ability to produce bioactive compounds as well as the enzyme. This study was aimed to isolate, identify, and screen their enzyme activities. Four soil samples from Mandalika, Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), were used for isolation. Bacillus was isolated using the heat-shock method and characterized through Gram staining, endospore staining, and morphological phenotype. Bacillus identification was conducted based on 16S rRNA gene sequence. The hydrolytic enzyme activities were checked qualitatively using selective media, and the enzyme tested including amylase, galactosidase, lipase, protease, and cellulase. As many as twenty-two bacteria isolates were obtained from four soil samples and represented 15 distinct species. The member of bacteria genera successfully identified, consisted of Bacillus sp., Brevibacillus sp., and Fictibacillus sp. Bacillus sp. was the most isolated. Some of the isolated bacteria have the ability to produce lipase, protease, and cellulase that potential to be used in biotechnology processes.   Keywords: Bacillus, hydrolytic enzymes, identification, screenin

    Aplikasi Analytical Hierarchy Process: Sistem Pendukung Keputusan untuk Seleksi Desa Inovasi di Wilayah Sorong

    Rural-urban social inequality is a problem that must be solved to achieve prosperity and economic justice that is desired by all human beings. Efforts to overcome the problem are to create and carry out the Program of Marine and Fisheries Innovation Village which is a program of marine and fisheries community empowerment to be able to take advantage of technology and innovation as an effort to improve their lives. Limited budget and resources cause not all villages that are partners in community service at the Sorong Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic can be turned into Marine and Fisheries Innovation Villages. This research was conducted to determine the priority ranking of villages to be selected and to carry out innovation and technology interventions according to the predetermined criteria. Decision making in this marine and fisheries innovation village requires a systematic and accurate method using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). In the case study, the selection of the innovation village program was carried out at three locations in the Sorong area (Walal Village, Rimbapala Village, and Pulau Raam Village). The criteria used in the selection of alternative innovation villages were: 1) having local government support, 2) community response, 3) having superior fishery commodities, 4) accessibility, and 5) in accordance with the resources owned by the KP Sorong Polytechnic. The results obtained based on the AHP method were Raam Island 58,7%, Walal 21,9%, and Rimbapala 19,4%.     “WINS” untuk Pengelolaan Kawasan Lindung Berdasarkan Sistem Agroforestri Aren (Arenga pinnata) di Zona Rehabilitasi Taman Nasional Meru Betiri

    WINS" (Win-Win Strategy) in the management of protected areas is the strategy that benefit both parties. Agroforestry with forest trees accompanied by agricultural crops may benefits the community if it is implemented in line with the management of Meru Betiri National Park (TNMB) policies. The agroforestry plants proposed in this study were aren (Arenga pinnata), java chili (Piper retrofractum), and porang (Amorphophallus muelleri). This study recommends four strategies for better agroforestry practice in TNMB, i.e.,g. 1) strategy I, increasing public awareness of the urgency of the preservation of national park areas; 2) strategy II, formulating policies to support agroforestry as a strategic management effort; 3) strategy III, education and counseling, as a strengthening of the role of extension workers; and 4) strategy IV, facilitating access to relevant data across all participating institutions and is supported in a multidisciplinary manner. This model may be used as a reference for agroforestry models in conservation areas, especially in TNMB, which will optimize the development of native plants in an area.     Akumulasi Besi (Fe) pada Kerang Hijau di Perairan Tanjung Mas, Semarang

    The source of iron in waters can come from human activities that carry out activities such as waste disposal in household and industrial activities. Green mussels containing iron are very dangerous for the shells themselves and for human health if consumed in excess. This study aims to analyze the concentration of iron in green mussel meat, determine the safe limit of green mussel meat for consumption by humans, and calculate the value of bioconcentration factors. This research was conducted in the sea of Tanjung Mas, Semarang. Samples taken in the form of green mussels, sediments, and water were then analyzed for iron concentrations with Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The results of the study showed that the range of iron concentration values in green mussels from July to November was 39–283,97 mg/kg. The range of MTI values for adults was 1.18–4.92, while for children the range was 0.24–0.98. The value of the bioconcentration factor of green mussels and water was 3271–24839, while the value of the bioconcentration factor of green mussels and sediments was 0.010–9.647.   Keywords: bioconcentration, green mussels, iron, maximum tolerable intake, Tanjung Ma
