    Seitel (2011) menyatakan bahwa setiap program yang dilakukan oleh Public Relations harus dimulai dan diakhiri dengan riset. Namun, seringkali proses evaluasi event yang menjadi program dalam rangkaian kegiatan public relations menjadi hal yang terlewatkan. Hal ini tercermin dari pernyataan Dodi M. Gozali, dikatakan bahwa penelitian dianggap oleh perusahaan tidak bermanfaat bahkan dikatakan sebagai pemborosan dan dinilai sebagai alat untuk membeberkan kelemahan sendiri. Ukuran sukses atau tidaknya sebuah special event hanya berdasarkan dari target jumlah pengunjung saja. Apabila target pengunjung tercapai dan berjalan lancar maka acara tersebut terbilang sukses. Terkadang penyelenggara kurang memperhatikan aspek-aspek lain terkait dengan kenyamanan pengunjung. Seperti kurang optimalnya pelayanan fasilitas yang tersedia. Akibatnya, pengunjung bisa saja mengurungkan niat untuk datang kembali apabila diadakan pada tahun selanjutnya. Penulis memaparkan metode yang relatif efektif dan efisien untuk dilakukan dengan impact yang cukup signifikan dalam melakukan evaluasi sebuah event. Penjelasan tidak hanya tentang metode yang digunakan namun juga mencakup bagaimana mengimplementasikannya dengan data yang valid untuk evaluasi program special event public relations

    Abstract This study’s objective is to discover social representations of political action performed by elite of PKS (Justice and Prosperous Party) during the party involvement in government, as viewed from its grassroots. Using texts and comments from dikedaikopi.net site, the study also intents at better understanding on how internet-based media is representing critic aimed at authority that was legitimated through religious doctrine. This study also intents to discover what is contained within the representation of wealth in Islamic view as well as its form. The study found that political praxis taken into account by PKS had created series of controversies. The controversies led into some debates within their ranks and grassroots, including on the issue of wealth.     Learning is the need of every human being. By studying then humans can find the ease or solution to the problems it faces. Nowadays learning is not necessarily in formal places like school, but developing with the independent learning process that can take place anywhere. Therefore self-learning requires encouragement to be able to maintain continuity. This is where the role of family communication is considered very important in maintaining the independence of learning children who choose to learn not in formal places or homeschooling. This study used a qualitative approach with informants selected purposively from families that carry out self-learning process for their children. Data collection using observation techniques, in-depth interviews and literature review. The results showed that: family communication is a major basis for the implementation of children's learning process. The more harmonious family communication that is established, the better the independent learning process will be done by their children. Family harmony factors also foster closeness between parents and children; Family communication used in fostering children's learning interest in the early learning process is more applying the process of modeling or imitation; The form of communication applied in an independent learning process that adopts from the Rumah Inspirasi model is a type of primary and circular communication pattern. Primary communication pattern is done in the form of daily conversation in the education process. While the pattern of circular communication by encouraging the child to ask more questions, open out what is in the minds of children so that children have the courage to speak

    Interaction and parasocial relationships are one-way relationships formed through the media. This type of relationship can be seen through various social media accounts owned by celebrities. Fans interactions with their idol celebrities in social media will lead to the formation of positive and negative parasocial relationships. This study was conducted to see how the relationship and parasocial relationship that exists between the fans with the celebrities in social media. Through observation on social media accounts owned by several celebrities in Indonesia, and in-depth interviews conducted with informants; It is known that various comments given by fans is a description of a parasocial interaction. Fans who always comments on every updated information uploaded by their idol, shows a parasocial relationship. This relationship is a picture of emotional attachment from the fans. The interaction and parasocial relationship in social media are closely related to the concept of hyperreality. All things related to a particular celebrity may be rendered artificially, so the fans will eventually form identification of the celebrity with hyperrealitas or reality that is different from the actual reality

PT PLN (Persero) PUSLITBANG as one branch of a foreign policy that is engaged in services that have public relations (PR), activities related to developing relationships with employee relations are handled by the part. Used literature review includes a number of concepts concerning the application of employee relations, and employee motivation. This study used qualitative methods. This is a descriptive-qualitatif study. Based on the findings, PR PT PLN (Persero) PUSLITBANG not apply four overall implementation proces. But employee relations activities have been very well built.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana PKL prodi DIII Hubungan Masyarakat FIS UNJ dapat menambah kemampuan untuk mengamati, mengkaji serta menilai antara teori dengan praktik yang terjadi dilapangan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas kompetensi mahasiswa di dunia kerja khususnya di bidang kehumasan. Konsep yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Kompetensi. Kompetensi merupakan suatu karakteristik yang mendasar dari seseorang individu, yaitu penyebab yang terkait dengan acuan kriteria tentang kinerja yang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknink pengambilan data Focus Group Discussion (FGD) kepada mahasiswa Prodi D III Humas FIS UNJ yang telah mengikuti PKL semester 104. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum mahasiswa memiliki motivasi untuk mendapatkan pengalaman di dunia kerja. Kesulitan saat melaksanakan tugas PKL secara umum, yaitu ketika mengerjakan tugas menulis berita dan pada awalnya belum memiliki kepercayaan diri. Mata Kuliah yang mendukung pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam melaksanakan tugas yang diberikan diantaranya; Fotografi, Komunikasi Bisnis, Komunikasi Organisasi,  Interview, Produksi Media PR, Media Massa Kontemporer, Penulisan Naskah Kehumasan, Public Speaking, Desain Grafis, MC & Protokoler dan Teknik Lobi Negosiasi. Kemampuan yang harus ditingkatkan pada  mahasiswa rata-rata menjawab  kemampuan menulis berita / press release dan kemampuan public speaking. Pembimbing lapangan memberikan arahan dan mengapresiasi hasil kerja serta kedisiplinan mahasiswa

    The increasing number of international student enrolled all around the world that leads to the needs of information problem. Different background, social demography, and general information affect the needs of information of international students. The genre of information to be search on the internet and the use of internet in seeking everyday life information take attention of researcher. The research intended to find interrelation between Social demography and general information toward genre of information chosen. This research questions were answered by conducting survey using questionnaire. Online questionnaire is chosen as the method to collect information from international students who are studying in Taiwan. This study finding released that Internet had been used as a primary medium for seeking information and most of the International students are having tendency to search information related to entertainment compare to other genre of everyday life information.     Industri hiburan dan beragam media telah banyak menampilkan tentang penderitaan orang lain yang diangkat ke permukaan sebagai sisi humanis dan bertujuan untuk menggugah emosi dan perasaan yang melihatnya bahkan sampai ditindaklanjuti dengan tindakan tertentu. Contoh, potret pengemis di jalanan, lukisan ibu-ibu tua yang berdagang dipasar kumuh, wanita pekerja yang sedang menggendong buah hatinya dan seterusnya. Kemiskinan dan potret sosial lainnya pastinya selalu bisa menggetarkan hati sanubari penikmatnya dalam beragam tindakan, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Makalah ini menyoal “Bagaimana Representasi dan Komodifikasi Penderitaan dalam Film Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan?â€. Dengan bahasan meliputi: analisis struktur naratif Film Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan; representasi dan komodifikasi penderitaan dalam Film Surat kecil Untuk Tuhan; dan kaitan Film Surat Kecil Untuk Tuhan dengan industri budaya sebagai media pembentukan citra? Kesimpulannya, realitas yang dikemas sebagai produk hiburan dalam industri budaya dapat dijadikan media pembelajaran. Dengan refresentasi dan komodikasi penderitaan di sisi lain realitas itu sendiri dengan maksud agar penonton juga dapat sama-sama memetik hikmah atas pengalaman hidup yang dialami para tokohnya.     PELANGGARAN EKSPEKTASI KOMUNIKASI DALAM NEGOSIASI BISNIS INTERNASIONAL DI INDONESIA

    This study aims to understand the evaluation of communication expectancy violations in international business negotiations in Indonesia. By utilizing the Expectancy Violation Theory (EVT) coined by Judee K. Burgoon (1976) as the primary theoretical reference, this study will explore the forming of communication expectancy as well as the evaluation process undertaken when those communication expectancies are violated within the context of international business negotiations. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach to understand the formation of expectancies and the process of evaluating expectancy violations within the business negotiation context through the lenses of experiences of Indonesian negotiators of the same industry. This strategy is hoped to provide details of the aforementioned process so then this phenomenon can be understood and new arising factors can be identified. The findings of the research indicate that the goal of negotiation and the negotiator’s social motives have become the main moderator in the evaluation of expectancy violations in the negotiation context, both in the event of ambiguous communication behaviors and when an expectation is negatively violated. This differs to EVT’s proposition stating that communicator reward valence is the main moderator in the evaluation process. This study also proposed a model of expectancy violation evaluation within the negotiation context that was never discussed before in previous literature.   Key words: communication expectancy, expectancy violations, interpersonal communication, negotiation, international business negotiations   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami proses evaluasi pelanggaran ekspektasi komunikasi dalam negosiasi bisnis internasional di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan Expectancy Violation Theory (EVT) oleh Judee K. Burgoon (1976) sebagai rujukan teoritis utama akan dieksplorasi bagaimana proses pembentukan ekspektasi komunikasi negosiator serta proses evaluasi yang dilakukan pada saat ekspektasi komunikasi tersebut dilanggar dalam konteks negosiasi bisnis internasional. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk memahami pembentukan ekspektasi dan proses evaluasi pelanggaran ekspektasi dalam konteks negosiasi melalui pengalaman para negosiator berkebangsaan Indonesia yang telah berpengalaman melakukan negosiasi bisnis internasional. Dengan strategi ini diharapkan dapat terungkap detail proses tersebut, sehingga dapat dipahami dan diindentifikasi faktor-faktor baru yang muncul ketika proses evaluasi pelanggaran ekspektasi dilakukan dalam konteks tersebut. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam konteks negosiasi bisnis, tujuan negosiasi menjadi moderator utama dalam proses evaluasi pelanggaran ekspektasi, baik pada saat terjadi prilaku komunikasi yang ambigu, maupun saat terjadi pelanggaran ekspektasi secara negatif. Hal ini berbeda dengan apa yang disebutkan dalam EVT bahwa kadar nilai komunikator menjadi moderator utama dalam proses evaluasi. Dari temuan hasil penelitian ini diajukan juga model evaluasi pelanggaran harapan dalam konteks negosiasi.
