TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP IN INDONESIAN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS DURING THE POST-COVID ERA: A CASE STUDY OF SPIRITUAL DIMENSIONS
COVID-19 in Indonesia necessitated a shift from traditional face-to-face learning to technology-based distance learning. This transition also redefined the role of school principal who must lead change and work in new ways. This study aims to explore the new role of the principal as a technology leader and develop a technology leadership model in learning in the new normal era. Employing a qualitative approach with a single case study method, the study involved 20 participants, including 5 principals, 5 vice principals, 5 IT coordinators, and 5 subject teachers from five public junior high schools (SMP Negeri) in Surabaya, Indonesia.. The findings study show that school principal has a key role in keeping the school functioning well in the new normal era. This findings highlight the latest model of technology leadership in education by developing 5 dimensions of technology leadership from NETS-EL 2018 into 6 dimensions. The spiritual dimension makes technology leaders and teachers are more effective in leading schools during and after COVID-19. These findings specifically contribute to the development of a technology leadership framework and generally complement existing leadership theories
THE ROLE OF EDUCATION, JOB ANALYSIS, AND WORK TENURE ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE FOR FILLING STRUCTURAL POSITIONS
In order to ensure the effective placement of structural positions, good judgment is required to ensure productivity and operational efficiency. This study analyzes factors such as education, job analysis, and tenure, which may affect employee performance to fill structural positions in PLTU Asam-Asam. Methods used are quantitative and perform hypothesis testing by utilizing Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM PLS). The population in this study is 183 PLTU Asam-Asam employees, and the entire population will be used as research subjects. The study\u27s findings revealed that education, job analysis, and work tenure had a positive and significant influence on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. This study concluded that to improve employee performance for structural position fulfillment, it is necessary to pay attention to the combination of relevant educational background, comprehensive job analysis, and appropriate work tenure. The suggested policies are to increase competency-based training programs, improve the job evaluation system, and adopt a merit-based promotion policy to ensure alignment between an individual and the targeted structural position
COPING WITH FOURTH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION CHALLENGES: LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES IN THE AIRLINE INDUSTRY
This study aimed to identify leadership competencies crucial for navigating the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the airline sector, utilizing a mixed-method approach, specifically an explanatory sequential design. Data from 210 employees underwent analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics, predictive analytics, and bootstrapping methods. Findings indicated that while age and education had no bearing on leadership competencies, gender, tenure, and positions displayed variations, indicating competency enhancements regardless of demographics. Furthermore, all competencies studied significantly predicted overall success, with some explicitly influencing challenges associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. A proposed leadership development framework addressed the findings precisely challenges, with practical implications focusing on driving success and sustainability in the airline industry
IMPLEMENTATION OF GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND CREATIVE ACCOUNTING ON FINANCIAL REPORTING QUALITY
This research aimed to test whether the implementation of governance in banking in Indonesia influenced the possibility of unethical creative accounting which had an impact on the quality of banking financial reporting. The sample used in this research were accountants who worked at banks in the DKI Jakarta and Bandung areas, totaling 315 respondents. The data analysis technique used was the Structural Equation Model. The research results showed that the implementation of good governance influences the occurrence of unethical creative accounting and the quality of financial reports. The implementation of good governance also influenced the occurrence of creative accounting which had an impact on the quality of financial reports. This showed the importance of implementing good corporate governance in limiting the occurrence of creative accounting which led to unethical actions, to provide reliable quality financial reports for its users. This research contributed to empirical testing of decision-usefulness theory which states the need for rules that must be fulfilled in presenting accounting information reports so that they could be useful in making decisions for users
GEN Z AND THE FUTURE OF BANKING: AN ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL BANKING ADOPTION
In the era of digitalization, a digital bank was the development of banking services. Bank innovation led to innovation in providing various alternative services and improved the ease of transactions for digital banking applications. This study aimed to discuss how digital banks used service features using a modified UTAUT2 approach. The data used was that of respondents belonging to generation Z in Indonesia who used digital banking services on mobile devices. Data analysis was done using PLS-SEM. The findings demonstrated that performance expectancy was the highest variable determining behavioral intention and used behavior. Habit and trust on service provider also predicted intention, and facilitating conditions also had a direct effect on usage behavior when adopting digital banking in generation Z. Surprisingly, effort expectancy, social influence, hedonic motivation, price value, and trust in the internet did not have a significant relationship, for which some possible reasons were explained further. In this article, theoretical and practical implications were also discussed
IS COAL ABLE TO SHINE? THE ROLE OF LEGAM IN SUPPORTING COAL JEWELRY-BASED SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
As coal mining activities ceased in Sawahlunto, tourism, and the creative industry emerged as alternative avenues for the city\u27s development. Legam is a player in the creative industry, specifically in the fashion sub-sector, specializing in coal-based jewelry production, a material abundant in Sawahlunto. Employing a narrative approach and conducting interview data collection, this research aimed to identify the role of Legam Jewelry in supporting social entrepreneurship. A social entrepreneurship approach served as the analytical framework, considering Legam Jewelry\u27s unique business operations. Differences in the locations of raw material sources, workers\u27 residences, and the business owner\u27s domicile increased operational costs. It was interesting to comprehend Legam\u27s motivation for maintaining this location difference between Bandung and Sawahlunto. The research findings indicated that Legam aligned its business processes with social entrepreneurship elements such as social value, civil society, innovation, and economic activities. Despite being deemed capable of fulfilling these social entrepreneurship elements, several critical points required attention in Legam\u27s business processes. One such point related to the need for government support to facilitate physical exhibitions after the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. In creating a massive social impact, efforts were necessary to encourage the emergence of similar entrepreneurs in Sawahlunto and other regions
TRANSFORMATIVE BUSINESS GROWTH STAGE MODEL TO FACE UNCERTAINTY
The business landscape was characterized by rapid change, intense competition, and various substitute products. These factors shortened business life cycles and hindered business growth. Therefore, there was a need for a more appropriate model that could suit the current condition. The study aimed to develop a transformative Growth Stage Model (GSM) effectively adapted to modern challenges and uncertainty. This qualitative approach involved inductive theory building with seven case studies of SME owners in Yogjakarta and Central Java. Developed models, patterns, and interview themes were built, including resilience, business performance, and leadership for the early growth, growth, and decline stages. In addition, these patterns and themes were used to develop three stages of transformative GSM known as GSM 4.0
WINNING MECHANISMS OF SURVIVAL: A CASE OF “BUL-ANON” RETAILERS IN RURAL PHILIPPINES
This study focused on the challenges faced by a group of independent and small retailers called Bul-anon retailers and identified coping mechanisms adopted. The study was conducted to investigate the coping mechanisms that can be utilized by other members of the retail industry to continue to thrive despite difficulties. Findings indicated that the challenges faced by the Bul-anon retailers revolved around three of the four primary business functions: marketing, finance/accounting, and operations. To avoid the significant impact of the above challenges, retailers adopted coping mechanisms to stay in business amidst large department stores and other businesses. How they handled their customers, being customer-oriented, was the winning mechanism for the survival of these retailers
HARMONIOUS SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP: A BUSINESS INNOVATION MODEL FOR EMPOWERING INDONESIAN COMMUNITIES THROUGH RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS
Religious organizations possessed significant potential for community empowerment through social entrepreneurship practices. Although social entrepreneurship had emerged as a strategy within religious institutions to bolster congregational and community economies, it had yet to garner adequate attention. This study aimed to identify social entrepreneurship implementations, explore challenges, and formulate a suitable social entrepreneurship model within the context of religious organizations. The research was conducted within a religious organization in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The findings suggested that achieving harmonious social entrepreneurship in Indonesia required an inclusive, collaborative stakeholder approach and increased NGO involvement through mentoring roles in entrepreneurial activities. Through a business innovation model integrated into religious organizations, community well-being could be achieved by synergizing entrepreneurship and spiritual values
PURCHASING BEHAVIOR AND SATISFACTION OF FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT CUSTOMERS IN CALBAYOG CITY
This paper examined the relationship between satisfaction and purchasing behavior of fast-food restaurant customers in Calbayog City. In addition, this study also aimed to identify the respondents\u27 profiles and the different factors influencing their satisfaction and purchasing behavior. The researchers used a descriptive-correlational research design to conduct this study. The researchers used a structured questionnaire adopted from a previous study. The questionnaires were provided to 384 participants in Calbayog City. The gathered data were analyzed using SPSS 29. The analyzed data by the researchers showed that family members, dine-in or online order options, and restaurant menus influence the purchasing behavior of fast-food restaurant customers. On the other hand, the satisfaction of fast-food restaurant customers in Calbayog City was influenced by menu options, payment methods, online application or website navigation, food placement technology, customers’ testimonials, friends and family recommendations, and services. The study revealed no significant relationship between satisfaction and purchasing behavior of restaurant customers in Calbayog City
